5.0 out of 5 stars 4.5 stars, mostly fine but scroll lock key gets hit too much
The problem I was trying to solve by buying this was that my old keyboard has a number pad on it and is really long. I don't need a number pad and there were times when there was too much distance between the right side of the keyboard and my mouse, which became very inconvenient. So I bought this keyboard. The price is good, the keys feel good when they type, and the key action is fine. The size of the keyboard is good. Sometimes I arrange things on my desk in several different ways, and the old keyboard was too long to fit in some of the locations where I was putting it. This is much smaller so that is good. Cord length is fine, and I was able to plug it in and use it immediately. I like the fact that the keys are dedicated and aren't sharing functions with other keys (there aren't 2 functions on the same key that you have to select from, like there are on some other keyboards). Basically it is good. The biggest downside that I see is that the location of the scroll lock key is such that somehow I keep hitting it by accident and a blue light comes on (out of the 3 lights that can come on at the upper left side, it's the one on the far right). Nothing bad happens as a result of this, just the blue light is annoying. To fix it I just hit the scroll lock key again and it's over. So it's easy to fix. But this does happen on a semi-regular basis. Sometimes the caps lock key comes on when I hit it by accident (center light), but that used to also happen on my old keyboard sometimes so I don't think there is any change in that compared to the old. Mostly it is the scroll lock key I hit by accident. I recommend that you don't throw away the little manual that comes with it, because the lights aren't labeled clearly, so if the scroll lock light comes on, you will have to look up what the light is in the manual in order to turn it off.I don't use the function keys that often so it's mostly irrelevant, but the function keys aren't labeled. But they also aren't labeled on a lot of other keyboards. So that's not different than my old keyboard.Overall, I am satisfied and this keyboard has solved my issue of removing the number pad and being able to fit better on my desk in certain configurations. I've only been using this a few days so this review is based on using it that length of time.If there was more space between the main keys and the scroll lock key so I don't keep hitting it, I'd say this is almost perfect. But it's fine and I like this better than the old keyboard so I'm satisfied with it.
5.0 out of 5 stars A joy to type on, checks all the boxes
I love this keyboard. It's nice and compact with a low profile, easy to toss into the laptop bag and take on the road. The touch is nice and light, with well-sculptured key caps and a good amount of travel. The layout is very convenient, with the Home/End/PageUp/PageDown functions accessible as a vertical row at the right side of the keyboard without needing to use the Fn key. My only complaint is that the key legends are painted on and will likely wear off quickly; I can already see some fading after just a few days of use. If the key caps were double-shot molded, I would rate this keyboard as perfect.
4.0 out of 5 stars How refreshing! A SIMPLE, quality, compact USB keyboard.
If you're looking for a compact size (no 10 key), standard layout/keyset, no extra functions, basic but quality USB keyboard with KVM compatibility, look no further!I needed to find a decent build quality, yet simple feature set, USB keyboard. Amazing hard to find these days! I have a couple legacy PCs connected through an older generation KVM and most newer USB keyboards have RGB, multimedia keys, layered Fn keys, etc etc. Many will not work with the KVM, plus I have zero need of all those "fancy" features. Finally, for less than $20 a simple keyboard that is just that. Nothing more, nothing less. Build quality is fine, not top notch but for the price it's quite good. All standard keys have their own DEDICATED key as it should be. No Fn key required to use Page Down or End the way some compact keyboards do. (see photo) Nice compact size fits perfectly next to the mouse and KVM. Typing feel is a lot like the keyboards and laptops from the early 2000's. Nothing to write home about, but certainly acceptable and does the job. Frame is very simple. There are no adjustable legs or feet, but there are some rubberized pads on the bottom to limit sliding about. All in all, and especially for the price, I'm very pleased.Be Advised: This keyboard comes in multiple variants (USB, PS/2) so be sure which one you need and which one you are buying.
5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite compact 10-keyless Keyboard
This keyboard is your ride or die. I spent $400 on a reproduction of the original IBM model F keyboard in April. They’re all made to order and handmade so I probably won’t receive it for 1-2 years. Point is, this isn’t a fancy mechanical keyboard. If that’s what you’re looking for them skip this. But if you want something compact that’s affordable and works well for what it is then look no further.I’m 5’5” and have narrow shoulders. Shorter and smaller people will know the struggle of most office furniture and accessories being made for 6’2” men. So you run into ergonomic issues. This is the perfect length keyboard for ergonomic purposes. You run into not having the 10-key which is what allows it to be shorter. A full sized or even 75% keyboard with 10-key will cause shoulder strain from using the mouse on the right side. You have to stretch your arm and it’s uncomfortable. This eliminates that if you use your mouse on the right side.At my desk I use a full size keyboard because I do a lot of data entry. I taught myself to learn the mouse left handed so now I can put the mouse on the left and still have the 10-key eliminating shoulder strain. When I want to work elsewhere I used this keyboard and set it on my laptop lap pad and use the mouse and this keyboard on it with my laptop plugged into a tv monitor. Works perfectly. This is great for travel in that way. It has two USB ports so you can connect a mouse and even a separate 10-key to it if you want it. Works great. No complaints. Best out there for the price. I like the layout and that certain keys aren’t eliminated for space which can be a pain on compact keyboards. For example I like having separate function keys at the top. This one is a winner.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fits on my small desk
The keyboard touch is nice. The keyboard fits well on a small desk
5.0 out of 5 stars Works great
Gets me into BIOS quick, looks great, and works perfect, Thank You
Solid, reliable, exactly what i needed
If you are looking for a small enough yet solid, workable, reliable wired solution (our employer prohibit wireless solutions), this is the best. Long cable, usb connection.I tried and returned 2 foldable keyboards in the same week, not reliable, 6 inches cable, too small, or silicone rollable absolutely not workable (hit and miss 2 letters out of 10).This one is rigid, fits in my back bag, and is everything i would expect.Would have been nice to have some carrying box ir bag but…Highly recommended.
The Best
Excellent at all
