5.0 out of 5 stars I aint lying, this item is great!
This is a great item to use, easy to clean, easy to use, and it tastes much better than using your ordinary household "percolator" coffee maker. And Im using cheepo coffee from walmart. (Your supposed to use higher quality coffee or grind down coffee beans to give that fresher taste)Gave some to my mother, she mentioned that with the percolator, the coffee tasted "bitter" (well in her opinion) Then using this french press, she then states it tasted "smoother" (and remember, this is the cheep coffee from walmart)Another great feature is that the pitcher is very thick stainless steel. Quite solid and not cheap. All in all, This is a great product made to last a long time (at least I hope it will last years of use)Update:(5/18/2020)Ok, so far no trouble with the french press. Still working good and no problems. However, I did decide to add a few tips here.Since Ive never owned any other "french press coffee maker" this is the only one I can bench mark from. The stainless steel is slightly magnetic, but the items description mentions its from the stainless steel variety that is slightly magnetic "304 stainless steel". (In my trade of construction Demolition, most scrap stainless Ive found were non magnetic) But this is supposedly a good thing. Supposedly this type resists corrosion and oxidation and is quite tough and used for the food industry. When making coffee, you shouldn't fill the water to the top of the pitcher. I'd say slightly above halfway. For if you do, since the top doesn't seal the top pitcher, coffee can "overflow" over the top and onto your tabletop. This has happened to me a few times.Mix the coffee grounds with a spoon or utensil with the hot water, and right before your going to press the lever downwards. (of course, right after you let it sit for about 5 minutes or longer)When pressing the lever downwards, you must do it SLOWLY! The liquid needs some time to slip thru the metal mesh filter as the plunger goes downward along with the coffee grinds. If not, (and you press that lever plunger down too fast and too hard) you end up with coffee liquid going up the inside around the plunger and over the top of the pitcher. You want the coffee liquid to slowly filter thru the middle of the screen plunger whilst coffee mass gets pushed down.Be ready to do more cleaning than a percolator. I use a large rubber butter or mayonnaise spreader to clean out the pitcher of coffee grinds into the garbage can. You could just put water in it and pour it into the sink, but you may need a drain filter (if one isn't installed in your kitchen sink already)And lastly, with cleaning the plunger, I simply find rotating the plunger counter clockwise (while holding the lever still from rotating), the metal mesh filter, bottom metal piece, and the plunger handle/plunger come undone. Wash rinse and dry is all that is left. Its still a great product I use it every morning now before work, and clean it out when I get home. Hope this helps!
5.0 out of 5 stars Best Affordable French Press
After using a glass french press and it breaking my dad purchased this secura french press years ago. recently moved out and was in need of my own, after searching and searching I still come back to this. Keeps coffee HOT, easy to clean and take apart, comes with extra filter screen. Overall I love it. Very durable and super cute (I got the black). Much better looking than the silver in my opinion. Haven’t had any issues with the black scratching off
5.0 out of 5 stars The best coffee maker I've ever owned.
I have been using this for several months now, and I absolutely love it. It makes a good, medium to strong, full-bodied cup of coffee with very little effort. I had been using pour over coffee makers for a while before I got this, but I'm not a morning person and so I don't enjoy having to engage in a long, complicated process just for a cup of coffee. With a French press, you just heat the water, wait for the water to cool slightly below boiling, and then pour it into the coffee grounds inside the body of the French press. Then you pop on the lid and wait 5 minutes or so, slowly depress the plunger, and pour out your coffee. It's so easy, and most of the process is hands-off so you can do other things while the water is heating and the coffee is brewing.I love how this model doesn't have any plastic parts and is completely stainless steel. It's also a very attractive piece, and as my kitchen is very small with limited storage, I end up leaving it out on the counter next to my electric kettle. Normally I don't like anything left out on the kitchen counters, but this looks nice so I don't mind. Also, I use it everyday. I like it so much I bought one for my mom this past Mother's Day, and she loves hers, too! She brings her electric coffee maker out when she has guests because it makes more coffee at one time than the French press, but she's always happy to switch back to the French press because it makes better coffee with nearly the same amount of effort as the electric coffee maker. There are also no paper filters or any disposable accessories with this, and that in itself is a big plus. I would definitely (and in fact already have) recommended this product to friends and family members.
5.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy, attractive and keeps coffee warm
We purchased this after managing to break numerous glass French presses. We were hesitant to buy a metal press, but are glad we did. Not only is it more sturdy than glass, but it is well insulated and keeps the coffee warm. I should also mention there is no loss of quality or taste in the coffee.
4.0 out of 5 stars Works well, seems durable, keeps coffee warm
After breaking yet another glass carafe french press, I followed a friend's advice and got a stainless steel one. This one is the 1500ml model, which will hold about three large mugs of coffee, although I usually only make 2/3 of a carafe. It works well (a french press is a pretty simple device), is easy to clean and will hold the coffee much warmer than my old glass carafe model. It helps if you follow the recommendation to first warm the carafe with boiling water before brewing your coffee. After about two hours my second cup was still pretty warm. And the next time I knock it off the kitchen counter, I'll just pick it up instead of having to clean up broken glass and buy a new one.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect in every way
Well-built, well-insulated, and pleasing modern design. The double screen filters much better than my more expensive single screen, European branded press. I liked it so much that I bought a second one for car camping.

Very Nice and Perfect for One Person
I really like this little French Press. It is solid and well-made. It doesn't quite make enough to fill my favorite big mug, but I make the coffee strong, then add some boiling water to top off my mug.If you want more than one cup of coffee, it's easy to rinse and make another cup.Looks nice, too!
Beautiful Coffee Maker
This french press coffee maker is something else! I was currently using a 12oz glass french press and discovered that it developed a small hairline fracture so I decided to see what else was out there.I noticed that Bolo was selling this product and it looked pretty good so I ordered one and have to admit that I am thoroughly impressed. The all metal, 17oz unit is the perfect size for either one large mug or 2 small servings. It's very well made and sturdy and is worry free of any glass breakage. This thing should last for a very long time as it comes with (3) metal mesh filters. The coffee stays nice and hot as the unit is insulated. Clean up is a breeze as well and a simple rinse with hot water and a quick wipe with a paper towel will get you through to the next brew. Best to give it a good soak in sudsy water of course on occasion. I notice this manufacturer also has them in various sizes. The 17oz is perfect for my needs.I have no regrets picking up this beautiful looking and functional coffee maker and would certainly buy another one should the need arise. It would make a nice gift as well for the single person that loves a great cup of coffee in the morning.
