About this item:
Peas are well known for being a source of highly bioavailable protein. Additionally, peas are not considered one of the major dietary allergens. Collectively, this makes pea protein an ideal source of post-workout nutrition for athletes who may have difficulty supplementing with other types of protein. NOW® Sports Pea Protein is a non-GMO vegetable protein isolate that has 24 grams of easily-digested protein. Each 1 scoop serving typically has over 4,200 mg of branched-chain amino acids, and over 2,000 mg of arginine. NOW® Sports Pea Protein is pure and natural, unflavored, and mixes easily into your favorite beverages.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the best solution for the money and quality of protein it provides. Let me explain...
I’ll start off this review with a startling and unbelievable statement—I’m a bodybuilding Vegan. It’s been almost ten years since I climbed over the piles of rotting meat and dairy products, and I haven’t looked back since my blood pressure dropped to 115/75 and cholesterol level plummeted seventy points to 150. Triglycerides? A double-digit number. Not bad for a 60 year-old who eats tofu and vegetables, benches 225, squats a ridiculous 500lbs. and doesn’t indulge in dangerous experiments with needles. Was it easy to make this transformation? No. The food choices available from the start were limited, at least until I did the research. NOW Foods Sports Nutrition has not only made this transition easier with a few mouse clicks, it’s given other Vegans what they need, inexpensive quality protein and carbohydrates. This product, Pea Protein, is what it says, an easily-digested protein from peas, and I’ll use anywhere from 50-100g a day, depending on my routine. It works fantastic. Not bad for one ingredient. You may have noticed I mentioned NOW also makes a carbohydrate supplement. It’s called Carbo Gain. But why mention it here? As many have seen, there are way, waaaay too many one-star reviews for this protein product mixing bad and tasting like chalk. I believe one person declared in dramatic fashion “IT'S SOOOOOOOOOOO BAD. So, so, so bad” and concluded it’s mixability was “0/10”.<slaps forehead> It’s described as unflavored. It’s not going to knock you off your feet like a great-tasting Vegan pizza. Any protein powder with no other ingredients is going to taste like chalk. What they need is a little help. One day—in-a-hurry-to-get-to-work act of desperation—I tossed ½ cup of this pea protein into a 48oz. container half-full of distilled water along with ½ cup of Carbo Gain. To my surprise—once covered—it mixed completely with some energetic shaking and—Wow!—the chalky taste disappeared. Not bad for a complete bodybuilding shake. I’ve also tried this with filtered tap water, and it still mixed without problems—I believe distilled makes it smoother and taste better, but it’s not necessary. Try this recipe with some creatine powder tossed in and it will still mix without problems. You can’t beat it for the overall cost, convenience and the 500lb squats you’ll get out of it. Ok, you’ll have to work on the last part yourself.Have fun!
5.0 out of 5 stars Like eating dirt but then you’ll start to love it?
I have a dairy allergy so my options are limited. This has an aggressively grainy texture and kind of an earthy taste. I had to get used to it. But after that first time, I started to really love it. It only has one ingredient, and it’s not sweet so it goes really well with frozen fruit & vegetables in smoothies. Now I love my dirt and can’t go back to sweet protein powders.
5.0 out of 5 stars No additives
This product contains 24 g of protein per serving, has no additives or fillers or sugars. In fact, the only ingredient is yellow pea protein isolate. As such, it doesn't taste great. It doesn't taste bad, but it's a little bit like sawdust. I don't mind it at all because it does the job and I can down it really quickly. However, my doctor recently told me I needed to take vitamin c with my iron pill to help it absorb. So I've started mixing a half a cup of orange juice into this (protein powder, water, orange juice) and it's simply delightful! I recommend this if you're looking for something efficient, vegan, with no crappy sugars or flavorings or fillers added.
4.0 out of 5 stars 24 g protein for only 150 calories.
24 g protein for only 150 calories. Great when dieting to get needed protein for the fewest calories. Note: It is NOT a flavored protein powder. It does have it's own taste, but if you mix with other foods, may work for you.
1.0 out of 5 stars HORRIBLE
Taste: 0/10I'm not a picky person, y it's just THAT BAD. You can see it in many other reviews, too. It's not just me. It tastes like earthy peas.Chalkiness: -50,000,000,000/10IT'S SOOOOOOOOOOO BAD. So, so, so bad 🤮Even if you let it sit for 24 hours after having mixed it with hot water to make sure it dissolves, it's still INSANELY gritty. But it's not even just like chalky, it tastes like sand like it's something hard. Chalky at least seems like it's half dissolved, this seems like it has little rocks in it. It's nasty. If you have a thing with textures, or are Autistic like me, this very likely would be hell for you.The most success I have had with it is if I make it with hot water, let it sit for at least 24 hours but 48 is better, but then you only have about 24 hours before it goes bad. It separates quickly so if you're using it to have pea milk around the house, it's going to be an exhausting amount of work to make it palatable. You also need to add a lot of flavor to it to make it palatable, along with the texture. This is quite a lot of work to make it something that a normal person can keep down.Mixability: 0/10Not only does it not dissolve completely, but just getting it down to its smaller chunks is a PAIN. The easiest way is to use an electric blender, but then it turns out frothy. Like INSANELY FROTHY. It gets so many air bubbles in it that it pretty much triples in volume, the texture is even worse cuz now you have gritty with these weird chalky air bubbles, those also take at least 24 hours to go down. The texture that this creates is the eating equivalent of nails on a chalkboard.Value: 2/10This is one of the cheaper ones you can get for the amount, however you get what you're paying for. It's so bad. So phenomenally bad. But you get massive size of sand!Kid friendly: Only if they were truly awful then this is much more effective than time out 😂😂😂😂🫠🤢If they've really been brats then you could probably make them gritty ice cream with how whipped this gets trying to mix it but The Hague might be after you for it lolWorth it? 1/10Occasionally this works out if I have pre-made milk I can maybe put into a soup, salad dressing to make it creamy, or something elsewhere the flavor is very hidden but it can just add some protein. So it's not completely useless, just mostly.Digestibility: 9/10It's pretty effective once it's in your body being absorbed. I also do like that it seems to be true to the ingredients, after covid I've had some weird food allergies so if the ingredients are not exactly what is inside my body will feel it. That didn't happen with this.

la seule chose ces que ce fût très long a l'avoir presque 3 semaines!
Great tasting
Great product highly recommended at 24g of protein. Truly vegan friendly and lactose free!
Recomendación Vegana
Excelente proteína, sin sabores artificiales.Desafortunadamente, está muy escasa en México, pero la super recomiendo.
Good stuff
Easy to mix, taste is neutral and can be mixed with additives, good stuff
It is what is, best no-nonsense protein.
It is as expected, sugar-free and plain. It's pea protein, don't expect it to be anything like whey protein. Texture is as what pea protein should be, no surprises. If you're unsure what's it like, try mashed boiled peas and that's almost what this product is like minus any sweetness.
