5.0 out of 5 stars Great motor for the money!
I have this as the auxiliary method for docking my 800LB sailboat. Paired with two 1000CCA Deep Cycle batteries. I have used this to motor around for several hours without issue. Pair it with a small rowboat or canoe and this thing would push you around a lake or pond without trouble. The LEDs on the top for battery life aren't very helpful unless its all you have. I suggest getting a cheap meter to keep with the battery. The LEDs are recessed too far so you cant see them from in the boat, you have to stand up and look straight down on them. On a sunny day you can't see the green/yellow LEDs at all. When You can read the battery display, its wrong anyway. It only gives a close to accurate reading when you have the motor turned off. The LEDs move down depending on the torque the motor is exerting. I spent 2 hours motoring around with the red LEDs blinking. So, don't buy this because it has the display. It's really only there for show and I suppose it might be better than nothing.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great motor, great customer service
Have had the 62lb motor for about 5 months, works great for my ~16ft flats boat. Completely silent and is surprisingly powerful. Barely drains battery too despite multiple days of outings. Had a slight issue with the bolts that clamp the motor to the boat but their customer service was great and resolved my issue within a day or so. Great company, will definitely purchase more from them in the future.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good buy.
This is my second new port vessel and it worked great. I replaced a 36 lb thrust and the reverse onnthe 62 works as good as the forward on 36. I use it as the main motor on my 15' jon boat. It steers well. It goes faster than the 36. It was just a little bit more expensive than a 45 and 50 lb minnkota or motor guide. Well worth the money.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good for the price in 12 v 62 lbs thrust.
I bought this motor aFter looking into its price and 62 lbs thrust in 12 v ..The motor perFormed very good in my bayliner 19 ft boat weighing 2200 lbs and we were three adults .. The speed was 3-4 nots and no peoBlems to mention .The only complaint I have is the wire provided is too short and one has to buy extra wire in order to connect to the batteries in bayliner 195..If we compare this motor with minkota then one has to pay more for minkota but the minkota body is more rugged and strong as compared to this motor which has cheap plastic feel at the upper portion of motor ..Otherwise this motor performs flawless. The handle extends out but still it's short .. I wish 7-8 inches more extension would have maDe more comfortable handling in my boat.
5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT TROLLING MOTOR
I did not use this unit, returned. This unit was not compatable with a gps system I want to attach to it, going to use the Kayak 55 lb thrust model (with a AUTOBOAT gps control system).
1.0 out of 5 stars Buyer Beware
64 lb Saltwater model: The first unit I ordered was DOA right out of the box, the circuit breaker would trip as soon as you turned it on with or without prop attached, called Newport Tech support and they suggested I get a replacement from Bolo as it was within the first 30 days. The second unit arrived, installed and the motor works fine however the speed indicator LED stays lit on 3 as soon as you connect power, called tech support again and they said to call Bolo again. So big issue with quality control at Newport. Hopefully, the third replacement will work! Buyer beware is my input on this product. Oct 2023
5.0 out of 5 stars Pretty fast for an electric motor
We use this on our canoe. Does goes a decent speed for an electric motor (your not making any waves) but it will get you around the river for fishing. Using at full throttle drains the battery very quickly
5.0 out of 5 stars Impressive little motor!
Tough, durable, and reliable little motor!I abuse this motor, and go WAY BEYOND it's design perimeters in salt water, for long duration (5-6 hours at a time)! It hasn't failed me yet!
Came two days early and it’s exactly as I ordered
I’ve only used it once so far due to weather and time but will be using it more very soon. Couldn’t believe how quiet it is through all speeds. Used it for fishing on the lake in front of my house, caught two trout trolling at #1 which is the perfect speed for trolling with this motor for my choice. I have a 12’ pontoon boat and used all speeds testing it out and when it got a little windy, the motor performed as expected. AWSOME ! Just pushes my boat along perfectly and if I just want to have fun I put it up to speed five and it really moves. Used a 12 volt deep cycle lead acid battery and it lasted for four hours and when I put it on the charger it still showed in the yellow just above the red. Only used it once but highly recommend it from its first debut on the water !!!

Buen troleador, pero la compañía que utilizaron para la entrega tardo demasiado. Creo que deben poner más atención en las compañías que contratan para este fin
light and easy to handle
good thrust and uses minimum power from battery
Satisfied
I use the 62lbs 12V model on my sailboat, a beneteau 235 of 3000 lbs to get out of the harbour. Using a 90Ah battery. Works great and I am satisfied. As long as the wind is not too strong it is great. I found the limit when facing a 10 kts wind directly at the bow. The boat was almost staying still without any forward movement. The unit arrived with a broken part but the after service of the manufacturer is A1. Here is the amperage measured with the motor at a depth of 12in: 1=15A, 2=18A, 3=25A, 4=30A, 5=45A, -1=20A, -2=30A, -3=56A
More power, bigger battery required than 46# NP motor
Bought to replace 46# Newport Vessels trolling motor. This is an "L" series motor; the only differences I can see to their main line of motors are that this one is white, and the shaft is 40" instead of 30". Both are safe for salt water use. Control head sits higher than before with the prop at maximum 12" depth and is easier to control while standing to fight a fish. Installed on 12' aluminum v hull. I use a 100ah LIFEP04 battery. With the 46# I got about 10 hours of battery life per charge while trolling between 1 and 2 MPH (speed level 1 or 2 on the motor) discharging to about 20%. On the 62#, running time seems to be reduced by about 25% and amp draw is several amps higher even at low speed, but I do use it more to move about on a lake at higher speeds. Top speed with one person in boat is about 3.5 MPH using about 50 amps. Was less than 2 MPH with the 46# at 30 amps. Top speed would likely be higher on a same length john boat. Lake I fish on can get very windy and 46" was not strong enough to get back to boat ramp when it blows hard, but I think I can ditch my 3.5HP outboard now as long as carry oars as a backup and keep an eye on the battery levels.I am happy with this bigger motor but I think a 100ah lithium battery is the minimum size to get full use of the extra power. Don't even think about lead-acid for a 12 foot boat.
