This chemical is amazing for removing rust. I had a terrible situation where I had stored chlorine shock packets in my garage, and didn't realize the plastic bags containing the shock powder had degraded to the point that the chlorine was out-gassing in my garage, creating a hyper-oxidizing environment, which subsequently rusted a significant quantity of my hand tools, of which I have an extensive collection. Unfortunately, I had originally thought the issue was due to simple humidity levels, and had INCREASED air circulation in the garage space, serving only to make the problem worse, as it accelerated the spread of the chlorine vapors.This product has been an amazing tool for removing this rust from my hand tools. It's been a fair bit of work, but this stuff really works. No hard work scrubbing or scraping or brushing. Just soak, rinse, protect, and go! The rinse and protect steps are VITAL. I made the mistake of forgetting and letting some batches soak for a couple WEEKS. Don't do that. A black sludge was generated which hardened and was actually hard to remove from the tools. I had to use more of this product to help dissolve this hardened sludge, and it turned those tools a black color. So, don't do THAT. As long as you take them out of the soaking fluid according to the instructions, it works GREAT! And, once you rinse the tools, IMMEDIATELY coat them with your favorite rust preventative. Your tools' original rust preventative, whether chrome or otherwise, is GONE. You MUST apply something new that will adhere well. Paint, oil, or even WD-40. Coat the tools or you will see rust on them again in short order.GREAT PRODUCT! Safe to use! Easy to use if you follow the instructions! Pay attention to the instructions, and I bet you'll see the great results I saw when I used it properly :)

There are more items in the after photo than the before because once I saw how well it worked, I couldn’t stop adding rusted items into the pan. We have an all metal garage, which gets a lot of condensation, causing our tools to rust. Some items took about an hour and some more deeply rusted items took an overnight soak. But ultimately, all were completely rust free when removed from the Evapo-rust solution and washed off. Does not have a chemical smell. Did not have to scrub anything, it’s simple and easy to use. And it is reusable, so you get a lot of bang for your buck! I am so impressed with Evapo-rust.

My first project was to de-rust a part (burner assembly) from an old rusty, abused Coleman lantern. I first used a small wire brush to remove the flaky rust. After soaking for two days, most of the remaining rust had been removed. Another quick application of the wire brush and another overnight soak removed the last of the rust, leaving only shiny metal. The burner assembly was so badly damaged by rust, it was not a candidate for putting back into service, so I left the part soaking for several more days just to see what would happen. Since Evapo-Rust is not acidic, it performed as claimed - meaning it did not affect the remaining intact metal.Before trying this product, I would have used elecectrolysis - which also does a very good job of removing only rust from metal pieces. In comparison, the disadvantage of electrolysis is that it attacks rust by line-of-sight. So, if a rusty surface is not facing an electrode this product will do a poor job of removing the rust. That means nooks, crannies and the insides of tubes and such will also not be affected. Evapo-Rust does not have these limitations.Flash Rust (I've seen this when using electrolysis.)After removing surface rust, some steel will quickly develop a very light coat of rust after removing it from the Evapo-Rust. To prevent this, I've read recommendations saying the part should be immediately rinsed and dried after the Evapo-Rust bath, and then sprayed with WD-40, or you can apply a light coat of oil. Another recommendation I read was to spray the metal with a phosphoric acid solution, and let it air dry.Carbon LeechSteel contains carbon and de-rusting can sometimes bring carbon to the surface after treatment, leaving a very thin black surface coatig. I have yet to encounter this, but apparently it depends on the carbon content of the steel. If you see this, the recommendation is to use fine steel wool or a wire brush to remove it.A little expensive, but it's re-usable - until it loses its effectiveness. Also, according to other reviews, keep it covered as it will evaporate. So far, I'm very impressed with Evapo-Rust.

Product has very clear instructions on the bottle. It removed rust and oxidation with no hesitation. I was shocked at how well it removed the rust from garden tools and mechanic tools.
Rust remover
Works as described. I had a very rusted trailer hitch and when I applied this product it immediately started to melt off the rust. I used my small metal brushes on it and after I was done I was able to hitch my trailer on the ball and take it 500 km away. Worked like a charm

يحتاج صبر ولكن رائع جداً ولكن إذا أردت أن تزيل بقع صدأ صعبة جداً تحتاج لتكرار العميلة وأيضاً فرشاة حديدة ونحاسية لأن الصدأ صعب في كل الاحوال ومن قال لك أن الصدأ يزول بسرعة فهو مخطيء لأني ميكانيكي وأعرف ماللذي أتحدث عنه إذا أردت إزالة الصدأ بدون أن تضر الحديد عليك بهذا المنتج ولكن أحذر سوف يزيل الطلاء بسرعة ولكن بعد أستخدام المنتج لن يزول الصدأ ولكن يساعد بإزالة الصدأ بفرشاة حديد أو أي نوع تحتاج إليه وكرر العملية إذا أحتجت وأقول مرة أخرى الصدأ يحتاج صبر لإزالته بطريقة آمنة

Having read good reviews on-line and seen the success on YouTube,, I purchased a couple of containers and gave it a go. The items have to be submerged in the solution and I've found that agitating them regularly and rubbing over the surface with your fingers helps to speed things up a little.I've found it to be very good and it does indeed remove the rust back to bare metal within around 24 hours with no visible damage to the item being de-rusted. I have used the solution multiple times and it continues to work well. Once it eventually runs out of de-rusting capacity, I will definitely get some more.Since this is a solution and the items need dunking into it, its not ideal for larger items. Tests against gel product shows that this seems to work far better than they do.To conserve the amount of fluid needed during de-rusting, I've used empty 1.5L fizzy drink plastic bottles, buckets and even drain pipe with a stopper on the end as containers, so think laterally about how you will submerge the item whilst using the smallest amount of solution possible. Some people advise to put sealed containers containing water in the vat to raise the level in an inexpensive manner.
Amazing and Effective
We’ve been using this to clean up some old rusty tools and hardware on furniture (screws, handles, etc.), and I’m so impressed! The fact that you can reuse it, is a major bonus. Ordered from Australia, and would definitely do so again. Best de-rusting product I’ve found yet.
