About this item:
ELDON BIOLOGICALS A/S is a Danish manufacturer of dry format cards for blood grouping. EldonCard has been manufactured and used for more than 40 years. Millions of cards have been utilised to establish an individuals’ blood group within the AB0-Rhesus (D) system to ensure compatibility of patient/donor blood. Today, EldonCard are based on the use of special formulations of selected monoclonal antibodies. The EldonCard is a product of the highest quality. It recognised as the first point of testing for blood types out in the field within a range of countries across the world. The EldonCard is made of a special type of plastic upon which dried antibody formulations are placed. The EldonCard is a reliable, durable, and flexible point-of-care blood typing system. The EldonCard is extremely safe to use. It is very accurate, using the card eliminates many of the possible human errors associated with the traditional laboratory-based methodologies, where blood type testing is done with liquid reagents on a glass plate. It also leaves a permanent record which can either be kept in a patient’s journal or can be given to the patient for safekeeping. The blood is drawn by using a single-use safety lancet, which prevents accidental piercing by anyone picking up the lancet after it has been used. The EldonCard is extremely accurate and has been tested against the standard blood typing procedure using directly agglutinating antibodies. Tests performed at several laboratories in different countries with results being equal to laboratory tests. EldonCard is used by hospitals, blood banks, and blood centres, where it can be used for general blood typing and for Bed Side Testing. Given the flexibility, durability, and accuracy of the EldonCard, it can be used outside hospitals and clinics, in practitioner’s clinic, humanitarian settings, remote locations, battlefield, classrooms, home, any emergency calling for a speedy, reliable test.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great, just read the directions carefully
Some find the directions difficult to understand, but if you go slowly and read the directions before getting started, it's not so bad. There's a video to watch also, but I found a couple contradictions between what those people were explaining and what the directions said. It's not something that needs to be done EXACTLY to the T though, so a little variation isn't going to hurt. Plus if you buy the 3 pack you have an extra if you screw up :). I bought for my sister and I, and she didn't poke her finger well enough the first time so it dried out too quickly. We ended up having to use the "spare" for her. Easy to read the results and just what we needed to better understand the way our bodies work. Funny thing is she and I are completely different blood types, even though sisters. I didn't know that was possible; learned a lot from this.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great product.
I originally got this to see the blood type of my kids and husband. I know mine. But my husband was adopted and never gave blood so he didn't know. The kit was easy to use and had clear directions. It was affordable aswell. Needless to say I do have to buy more because at the time my son's chickened out and didn't want me to pick their fingers so I did do mine again and my husband went all science geek on the last one because it was fascinating.
3.0 out of 5 stars Three Stars
Only tried it once, and it didn't work. I will try it again, as I got 3 test kits.
5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use! Very pleased.
The instructions are super easy to follow.Everything is sealed, and well packaged. You get 2 lancets, a dropper, alcohol wipe and 4 sticks, self stick protective sheet.I've never done a blood test before so I was very nervous. I followed the instructions, they even provide a link for a step by step demo, or you can easily go on Youtube and find many people doing their own tests.Read the instructions first before doing the test, don't touch the colored circles.Once the test is done, wait for it to dry before placing the protective clear tape over your test. I thought mine was dry and I placed the protective sheet over it and smeared everything. That was my fault. I did my children's and knew to wait, I placed the self stick protective cover the next day.I'm going to buy another single test kit, bc I messed mine up when I did that.Super easy to follow.
5.0 out of 5 stars Neat science project
These cards worked exactly as they should. Instructions were clear and easy to follow, and the little science lesson about blood type that came with the kit was appreciated. We used these to blood type as a follow up to a biology lesson. Doing the process and seeing the results made for a more lasting impression with the kiddo than dry lines from a textbook.Tip: If your child is leery of poking their finger for this or hates needles, apply some Orajel to their fingertip a few minutes before using the needle to get the blood droplet. Have them wash their hands, clean the fingertip with an alcohol pad, apply the Orajel, let sit for three or four minutes, wipe off Orajel with a napkin, clean fingertip with another alcohol pad, then do the needle stick.
5.0 out of 5 stars Easy, convenient
We found these easy to use and convenient. Everything that you need is included except for a little bit of water. Worked just fine on the first try and it was neat to finally find out my daughters’ blood types.
4.0 out of 5 stars Accurate and easy to use
I wanted to know my blood type in my 20’s and used this kit. It was super easy to use, priced well and the results were accurate (later verified from a type and screen blood test at the doctor’s office). I also enjoyed and found fascinating the booklet that came with it recommending specific foods geared towards your blood type.
1.0 out of 5 stars Inaccurate...don't bother.
I read the booklet and followed it to the letter. Both my test and my husbands test came back wrong. It said my husband was AB- so he decided that he should donate blood since it is a rare blood type. He went in and they told him that he was A+. My test came back as B+...which made me order a DNA test because it is not genetically possible for me to be B+. Well, the DNA test came back and turns out my dad is in fact my dad...I am O+...DO NOT RELY ON THIS CRAPPY TEST TO BE ACCURATE. Go donate blood at your local blood bank and just ask what blood type you are. Don't waste your money on this crap.
