I recently picked up the SMEG 2 Slice Toaster, and it has been a fantastic addition to my kitchen. First off, the retro design is absolutely charming and adds a touch of elegance to my countertop. The build quality feels solid, and it’s clear that SMEG pays attention to both form and function.The toaster offers 6 presets, which makes it incredibly versatile. Whether I’m toasting a slice of bread for breakfast or defrosting some bagels, the settings are easy to use and deliver consistent results. The defrost function is particularly handy, and the ability to customize the browning level ensures my toast is always just the way I like it.Another feature I appreciate is the removable crumb tray. It’s so easy to clean and helps keep the toaster looking neat and tidy. The slots are wide enough to accommodate various types of bread, from thin slices to thicker artisanal options

Ok….i tried really hard not to buy this toaster! I have always admired it … I even bought other toasters that I ended up not liking at all because of performance and durability. I am glad I decided to go for it and try this toaster! This SMEG toaster deserves a full 5 star rating! I could not be happier… it arrived on time, in double boxing packaged securely within the inner original appliance box in perfect condition. Besides being a beautiful toaster (as toasters go) , it is solid, easy to use and its toasting capability most importantly is fantastic! As soon as it arrived, the toasting began…we use our toaster throughout every day…so far…bagels, toast, reheating of day old crusty bread, waffles, English muffins, and croissants have all either heated or toasted really well and evenly…we have not tried the defrost option yet. We feel the toaster is of high quality, very easy to use, and love the champagne color! We intend to enjoy this toaster for a very long time! It’s a keeper!

This 4 slice toaster is the best ever in my 81 years! It is a mix of incredible beauty, weight to keep from sliding around and smoothest operation like no other toaster. No nonsense, just perfect browning. The slots are spacious and accommodate my home made boule slices for two of us. I bought the red and it is beautiful. The finish is perfect. Quite the star of my kitchen! Oh yes, it is expensive but as the saying goes, "you get what you pay for"! One more thing - I believe the toaster is the hardest working appliance in the kitchen so expect to make a good investment.

After hearing all the buzz about Smeg’s retro-style appliances, I decided to treat myself to their toaster, and it hasn’t disappointed! Right off the bat, the design is a showstopper. The sleek, 50s-inspired look adds such a stylish touch to my kitchen. It’s one of those appliances that you don’t mind leaving out on the counter because it doubles as a decor piece.Functionally, the Smeg toaster is just as impressive. It toasts evenly and consistently, which is a big deal for me because I’m picky about my toast! There are six browning levels, so it’s easy to adjust depending on whether you like your bread lightly toasted or golden brown. I’ve tried everything from bagels to thicker artisan bread, and it handles them all with ease, thanks to the wide slots.

The media could not be loaded. Update: Seriously, this toaster is really bad. It actually does nothing well. I don’t know how that’s possible, but it’s true. Even basic toast flies out of the top when done (see video. This is ever time, not occasionally). And the toast that comes out if perfect tan on one side and over dark on the other. Waffles always get stuck and burn. Also, there is too much room on the side of the cage that hold the toast, which makes it easy to get a slice stuck outside the cage, and thus turning into a smoke situation as the bread touches the heating elements. And, those cute SMEG letters are impossible to clean around 🥺. Don’t be charmed by the brand or the cuteness! You will regret it!This toaster kinda sucks. Sadly, most toasters seem to suck, but this seemed to be a happy medium between form and function. After a couple weeks, its way more form than function. What it does well: toasting, pre sliced sandwich bread. Great. FTW. If that's the only thing you toast you will probably love it.What it does much less well: toast anything else. God forbid you want a toasty slice of your favorite crusty bread. You better cut it perfectly thin, but not too thin because it some how gets trapped and turns to charcoal. And it better be perfectly, standard toast slice. Odd sized toast will also get stuck in something. Make a Frozen Belgian Waffles and you will find yourself plucking it out with chopsticks, because it it too will get stuck (though the defrost works pretty well). Too small a slice and it will literally fly out of the toaster when it pops up.So, our quest for the perfect toaster (even adequate at this point) continues. We had high hopes, but are sadly disappointed. Quality seems fine, though the lever did not work on the first one we received.

Toasts precisely from frozen
It's pretty strong with the settings. I freeze all my white bread so that it lasts.I set this at 2.5 and defrost and it toasts both sides perfectly to what I want, while still retaining a moist inner bread.I tried to set at 3 but there was a bit of burning on one side. I guess it depends on the thickness of the slice.

Ordered for my wife as a gift, she was super excited when she received it. It’s a beautiful appliance I’ll give it that, but I will confess that I don’t really understand the appeal. She’s super happy with it, so I guess that is all that really matters.
