We originally found this back in 2004-2005 in Canada over the counter. My in-laws always had and we loved it so much, that we’d take a couple bottles home with us. We were so glad once it came to the States and we could order here. We order this all the time and make sure to have extra at home. Works better than any other cough and/or sore throat medicine. It’s safe to even use on kids 2 and up. Since the taste is actually good, the kids happily and easily drank this instead of other over the counter ones.I used to take a spoonful of honey whenever I had a sore throat because it made my throat feel so good (even if just for a short while). No need to do with these since you can actually take it every 2 hours (and it’s a 1/3rd of the amount you take with Robitussen, NyQuil, etc.) It’s homeopathic and safe.Side note: Recently we ordered 3, but one bottle (which are glass) broke inside its own box. I think there wasn’t enough bubble wrap in the main box (usually there’s so much and not even necessarily needed for certain items. However, since it is “sticky”, it smeared all over part of the outside box and everywhere inside. It was so hard to remove the 2 boxes that didn’t break since they were stuck so hard to the outer box. Yet, luckily no glass came out of the single box (I didn’t even know the bottle broke originally. I figured one just leaked. But once I “peeled” the box off outside box, I heard the broken glass. Bolo was quite understanding and helped rectify the problem ASAP. I was given a full refund for them and free replacements. So thanks, Bolo!!No need to take a star away. Accidents happen. And Bolo helped fix the problem easily, generously and efficiently. I’ve read many reviews (not just here, but other online shopping sites) where people rip the business to shreds over things like this. If they’re not helping to correct the issues, then I understand (I’ve been there). But if they fix the problem as easily as they can, then no need to rate them lower.

I have ordered the Chestal honey adult syrup several times for chest congestion with a cough. It has helped with congestion and sped up recovery time. The dose is every two hours and I see improvements immediately. It is a soothing formula and I use it alongside over-the-counter medicines. I have also ordered the children's formula for my kids which is also effective. It is a clear and very sweet-tasting liquid that is pleasant and easygoing. I will continue to use this and do recommend it as a very effective choice for healing and recovery,

i've been using this at least since the late 1980s or early 90s, i got a lot of respiratory infections then because my kid was in preschool and she was catching everything, and i was catching everything from her. i gave this to her for coughs and it quieted cough symptoms. it's a pure honey flavor so she was always happy to get it. i used it for myself for cough symptoms and had the same kind of experience and have used it ever since. i had/have prescription cough syrup medicine in my medicine cabinet and i virtually don't need to use it, it's at least 10 years old. i've used Chestal for persistent dry cough, and i've used it for upper respiratory irritation caused by air pollution.so i love this stuff. the only difficulty i had with it was that when i was pouring it into the little cup, sometimes i would get it outside the cup, spilling it, and honey is not that easy to clean up, for me anyway. but a small inconvenience, not a big thing. Then,about a year ago when i got a new order of it, there was a new kind of pouring technology inside the mouth of the bottle that controlled how it pours. Before that, there was just the mouth of the bottle, like any other bottled liquid, but now they have added something inside the opening that narrows the stream as it comes out and it's much better, easier to control. i appreciate that a lot.

It did not work for me. Called my cough for about 10 minutes. I think it may be because of a new medication I am taking. It probably will work great for you. Expensive if you use it 8 times a day like it says.

Boiron has been my go to for so many health care items and I have yet to be disappointed. This is just another tool in my belt as a mom of toddlers. And the kids don't hate the taste, which is a plus.I love that it is even able to be given to the little ones (2+) and it actually works! I notice a difference with my daughters within 30-45 minutes and lasts about 4-5 hours. I usually readminister every 3 hrs (directions say ok every 2- max of 6) to keep ahead of that 30-45 min wait time for it to kick in.The only downside is the price on Bolo so be sure to check out your local health food store for a discounted price. (I know we were just as surprised to find that out.)

This was my 3rd purchase of the Chestal Honey. I bought this for my children to help them for coughing fits when they had a cold. The cold spread throughout our home and my husband and I used the cough syrup as well. It tastes sweet and pleasant and works so well to stop coughing. I love that it's safe for the entire family to use and works well to help with coughs. This has become part of our cold protocols.
