5.0 out of 5 stars Great Glass Whitstling Tea Kettle - Easy Use, Cleaning
Have very much enjoyed using this glass tea kettle. Easy use and cleaning. It has a whistle that is not very loud but you can hear It. I turn the plastic lid a bit so it is easy to take off when temp is reached. Handle stays pretty cool. Love being able to clean it easily and that it is glass. Nice looking, good quality. Use a gas stove. Comes with a separate fitting/metal piece for electric stovetops. Excellent value.
5.0 out of 5 stars A great alternative to metal kettles
I bought two electric glass and plastic kettles within the past three years and was disappointed. After using during the first year they both started rusting on the inside on the bottom. I think this is a major flaw with electric glass kettles that have stainless steel bottoms. So, instead of buying another disappointing product, I decided to get this Glass Stove Whistling Tea kettle. So far it works fine and I do not have to worry about it rusting over time. Hopefully, this will last a few years or longer. For the price, you cannot go wrong. A bit old fashion; but worth it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Bring back the whistle!
The media could not be loaded. I was torn between this Glass Whistling Stove Top Kettle or an Electric one. I was excited to use this on right after receiving it. It's great quality, perfect size, looks awesome on my gas stove top, being glass no worries about rust or any electrical piece failing. Value was great and turn up the video to hear it Whistling. A bit of nostalgia. Great purchase & product.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good kettle at this price point.
I have now against my better judgment purchased this kettle literally three times. The first one was exactly what we wanted, but after months of enjoying it on our gas stovetop, it broke when the side of the (cool) carafe tapped against the porcelain sink. My bad? The second one developed a non-leaking crack the first day we used it. It made ominous pop/crack sounds, so we discarded it and bought another. The suspense is killing me... did I just buy a third low-quality kettle or did I replace a fluke?Things to know:—The handle and lid are NOT insulated and will be scalding hot to the touch... which confuses me because this is a kettle... who makes a kettle with a handle you can’t use until your nice hot water is less hot?!—The interior requires flexible and large bottle brush to clean properly... the bowl shape carafe is aesthetic but weirdly tricky to clean If there’s a “water line” of coffee or milk or whatever—The exterior can get “baked” if not perfectly clean when over the flame and we suspect this is what caused the abrupt cracking in the second kettle—The kettle looked kind of grimy even after hand washing, until we used proper glass cleaner, which returned it to its pristine state (lots of rinsing required)Did this help anyone? I can’t believe I bought this a third time, but the first one was fine for its price point, you know?
5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome tea pot
I drink tea daily and this pot is awesome. It heats up quickly and provides a nice clean environment to boil water. I didn’t want any chemicals or lead leaching, so the borosilicate glass is awesome. I use it on a gas stove daily with the included ring beneath. I don’t put the top lid on securely - I just set it on top and then pour out the water into my receptacle when ready. Boils super quick and I love being able to see it. Excellent value for the money.
5.0 out of 5 stars Nice design. Strong whistle.
I have a glass top stove and it works great and quickly to boil water. The whistle is strong and cheery. Convenient line shows the minimum amount of water that’s safe to put in the kettle. Sleek, practical and stylish.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect kettle
I am so happy with this kettle and the price is perfect. I was looking for an electric kettle that doesn't leech a metallic taste into the water and just haven't been able to find one. Something seems strange with the quality of stainless steel lately, not sure what the deal is. But really glad to find this alternative for boiling water. So far I couldn't be happier.
4.0 out of 5 stars No rust worries
I like the glass option for cleaning and not worrying about rust. Handle stays cool, but you have to remove lid to pour. Takes longer to boil than metal as recommend not to use high heat. Still happy with purchase.
Its everthing i thought it would be, its used every day over and over
The water is so clean well it's glass and just tastes great, I will never go back to metal kettles on the stove top, The whistle is loud and clear the glass is easy to wipe down with a damp rag, I do go from scolding hot water pored into a mug and then filled up with freezing cold water from the tap here in the winter, and it's not a problem for this little glass beauty. We use the very small burner on the stove top, and it takes about 4 minutes to boil two large mugs of water. This way, you are using a tiny amount of energy to boil the water. On the side of the glass kettle there is a making for the minimum amount of water this will take, and it equates to two large mugs of water. We are all impressed with this work horse of a kettle and if this one breaks we are all unanimous in this house we will definitely be buying another straight away, cross fingers we haven't dropped it yet lol
Great Little Kettle
I spent almost $100 on a you beaut shinny metal kettle recently. The whistle died after one month and the thing was ruined when I remembered I'd left it on. This little beauty is a little slow on the boil side, but I can't miss the sound of the whistle. I like glass and most of my mugs are Borosilicate glass these days so it made sense to try this kettle. Somehow my tea and coffee seem to taste better when the water is boiled in glass. The instructions say 'for water only'. That's a bit of a bummer because it would be great to be able to be able to boil milk in it too. A good price, very fast delivery and a generally good product.
Don’t know what everyone says it works
The cap keeps popping out. I inspected the cap and when I touched one of 3 little movable parts it broke. Now it’s a waste of my money and I don’t know how or if I can get a replacement. All I want is one that works as what the ads says
really good
this really good just right for us you can judge how much water you put in saves on gas if you want2-4 cups of tea just put a cup of water in or 4 cups keeps hot for a good 15mins so your not re heating PUT THE METAL RING IN SIDE also you can judge when it boils once agene saves on gas etc
