5.0 out of 5 stars Accurate and Repeatable
The dial readout is very crisp and easy to read; it is marked for every 0.001" (one thousandths). It is easy to interpolate by eye to 0.0005" (five ten thousandths) and probably to 0.00025" (25 one hundred thousandths). I am very pleased and used these to identify a ten thousandths error in a recently purchased replacement part.I love the dial readout. It is much easier to read than a vernier scale. I prefer the dial to electronic readout since there is no battery to go dead while the tool sits in my tool drawer. This is the perfect choice for users that only occasionally make measurements with this level of precision. Be sure to read and follow the card in the plastic envelope: wipe the calipers down with a lightly oiled rag to remove the shipping preservative. It will slide much more smoothly that way.Just buy it! The quality is a joy to use.
5.0 out of 5 stars The best measuring equipment available at a fair price
Accurate, durable, long life, and comes in a protective storage box. I’ve been using these products personally and professionally for decades and have no complaints. A perfect example of why buying quality tools is the only way to go.
5.0 out of 5 stars Mechanical calipers don’t go bad if taken care of
I went through two digital electronic readouts that broke before I reverted back to this. No problems. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. If handled carefully these can last a few lifetimes. My original I had over fifty years and I gave it to my son. Runs fine.I thought since I am older to try digital almost ten years ago, they broke, just sitting there and used a few times a year.
5.0 out of 5 stars No more batteries!
I have several digital calipers from cheap, to moderately expensive. They all work well enough with repeatable results. But I am sick and tired of chasing around for batteries. So here we are...I am quite pleased with the function and level of quality (for the price) of this unit. I have had it for some time now. Reliably measures to a thousandth or better. And I know it is going to work every single time I pick it up! I plan to get another before too long.I do worry slightly about dropping it though. I know it's not made for that, but it will happen eventually.Disclaimer: I am not a professional machinist, but I AM a professional mechanic. And I dabble in several hobbies that require fine measurements. This caliper will do the job for all but the most demanding of accuracy measurements.
5.0 out of 5 stars World-Class Precision
What is there to say? You can measure a human hair with this thing. The Mitutoyo caliper is known around the world for its incredibly high quality and scalpel-like precision. The price is shockingly affordable for something so accurate and well made.
5.0 out of 5 stars Worth your hard-earned money.
Absolutely worth every penny of your hard-earned money. This thing is great it is built to last and will certainly pay for itself. This is my first set of good dial calipers and I am very impressed and will never waste my money on cheap tools again. The package arrived on time in good condition not a scratch on the calipers. Zeroed immediately and repeated every time I opened and close the Jaws. Fit and finish are excellent and flawless. Super smooth easy to read just great. Passed inspection and calibration at the shop flawlessly. Will get lots of use out of these.
4.0 out of 5 stars Very well made, but not the case is not padded
Caliper is very well made and very accurate. The Bolo description does not state that it comes in its own carrying case, but it does. You need to watch the demonstration video to see the case. Its not a tight fit so you may want to put a thin layer of foam in the case to keep it from bouncing around. You would think for the price of this unit the manufacturer would supply a case that's padded.
5.0 out of 5 stars Accurate and Solid
Caliper feels solid and overbuilt. Accurate and repeatable readings to the thousandth that I trust. Machining is perfect and slide movement is buttery smooth. I also have digital Mitutoyo calipers, and while I use the digital calipers more frequently, there is something special and old school cool about the mechanical action of a dial caliper that keeps me pulling them out to use. These calipers pass routine inspection with Mitutoyo ASME 0 blocks that range from 0.025” to 3”.Ordered from Bolo Services in 2022 and received authentic calipers. Mine are made in Japan but do not have TiN coating on the bottom of the slide. The lack of TiN coating is not an issue, in my opinion, since the slide is made from hardened steel.
