5.0 out of 5 stars accurate and fun to use
One of us knew our blood type and the other didn’t. the one that knew got the correct results from this test! it’s easy to do, the thumb pricker is spring loaded so its quick and easy. The one that isn’t filled out is AB+ in case that helps anyone solve theirs!
5.0 out of 5 stars Simple method
The video made it so easy to follow the directions. Great buy and gives you the idea of your blood type.
4.0 out of 5 stars It’s a blood test
If you need a quick blood test, this is the test for you. It comes with very clear instructions, and even has links to instructional videos in case you need more help.Everything is separated in very clean/sterile environements and the needles are all one time use disposable. Everything you need is in the kit, and in case you mess up you can just take it from the other pack(if youre not using it).One note about the needle is that if you are someone with very deep calluses on your finger tips, you might not be able to get through to your blood. My finger tips are very very rough and the needle I used just could not get through all that skin. I ended up having to use the other kits needle on my pinky which finally made it through. You also need to be prepared to make a mess, one drop of blood can get everywhere once you need to dot it on multiple places and squeeze more out.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great product! Do not believe the negative reviews
My Dad wanted to know his blood type and since I didn't know mine either we got 2 kits and have some extras. I tested Dad first, the lancet was a tiny prick, minimally painful, not even as bad as getting a splinter. Dad's blood is thinner right now cause he has edema, and the only difficulty I had with his test, was getting enough blood from his bony finger, but it just took a little patience and some finger massaging. When I did mine, it was again just a tiny pinprick, had enough blood for the test easily but wasn't dripping like crazy. I've used lancets before for sugar testing, this was not even that big a poke nor that much blood or pain. We didn't even need bandaids, We have no bruises, nor was the lancet hard to use at all, you simply twist the end cap then pull it straight out of the end, don't push the trigger until you are ready to poke because it's a one poke lancet. I was very careful and read the directions completely before doing the test, we also did not write on our cards until after our cards were dry as someone suggested. The test was simple, straightforward and we did fine with it. I suggest simply reading the directions completely before you start and watch the video. I was able to do my own test without help, and helped Dd with his. We learned we both have different blood types and we had no null results. I would highly recommend this test as it was simple, fairly painless, and inexpensive as well as do at home on your own schedule. I can't speak to accuracy as neither of us knew our blood type prior but the example photos were easy to follow and distinguish if you actually look at them and read the directions. We have no reason to doubt the results, and considering they were different and we had no null result I suspect that we did get accurate results. Great test did exactly what we hoped for.
5.0 out of 5 stars Accurate
Great product but did have to watch a youtube video on it which was easy to find.
3.0 out of 5 stars May be a good option for some people, did not quite work this time..
My 7 year old son really wanted to get one of these tests to test for his blood type (even after learning that it required pricking his finger), so we got two of these- one so that he could 'test' it out on me, and another so that he could do the test if he decided he still wanted to do so. Overall, it seems that the test could be a good one, but there were a few problems. The first is that there is only one lancet and, as it is single-use, you are out of luck if you accidentally activate it while doing the prep (which I did). I had to use a sterilised needle for my test. The second problem is that it seems that the method of collecting the blood once you use the lancet is not completely thought through. It is incredibly difficult to collect enough blood (especially 4 times for each of the test sections). I had to prick myself with a needle a second time and we never finished my son's as there was just not enough blood for the rest of the 3 sections by the time we were done trying to get enough for the first. I am not sure if we would try again or if I can just convince him to let the doctor do it. We did do a little lesson on blood types and how they are inherited, so at least it was not a total waste. Maybe it would go smoother now that we are more familiar with the test or if we can find something better to use for collecting the blood.
