About this item:
The 3-Ply Stainless Steel Viking 12 quart. Stockpot helps to achieve rolling boils in a shorter time than conventional stockpots due to the clad construction throughout the vessel. The 3-Ply Stainless Steel build allows the side of the vessel to transfer energy from the side walls as well as the bottom so that more of the pot is working to distribute heat quickly and evenly. Beautifully polished to a mirror finish the Viking stockpot is constructed with a three layers of metal - the exterior layer is a magnetic 430 stainless steel making this pot compatible with induction stovetops as well as gas, electric and ceramic. The next layer is an aluminum alloy to evenly and efficiently distribute the heat throughout the pot. The inner cooking layer is 304 surgical stainless steel that is easy to clean and non-reactive, making it an excellent surface for preparing acidic foods such as tomato based sauces. The combination of materials increases the heat transfer throughout the pan, making more efficient for cooking. The large capacity of the stockpot is ideal for preparing pastas, soups, stocks and more. The vessel's high walls minimize evaporation, making it ideal for slow simmering techniques. The Viking signature handles are mounted to the vessel with solid stainless steel rivets and are designed for easy grip even with a towel or oven mitt. Compatible with all stove types, the Viking stockpot is oven and grill friendly up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit. The Viking 3-Ply Stainless Steel 12 quart Stockpot is backed by a limited lifetime warranty. Dishwasher safe.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning
I received this pan yesterday and already made a pot of soup in it. It's heavy duty and the water came to boil fairly quickly. Instead of really tall its wide as well so easy to work in and stir. Kept a nice simmer for a couple of hours and its beautiful to look at!
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent 12Qt Pot, One Minor Detail
The Good: Price. This stockpot is a third of the price of the AllClad which is made in the U.S. and comparable across the board. The Bad: If you are anti-China or imports, there's your "bad".The Ugly: See photo. The inside graduated lines to measure volume are off. Makes my pot appear to only be 11.25 Quarts. If you need the interior measure lines for accuracy, this is not the pot for you. It does give an approximation of volume so in that regard it's helpful. I'm hoping over time they will scratch or fade off, or with a little help with a scouring pad I'll force them off due to my OCD tendencies.Summary: I purchased both 12 Qt. stockpots, the Viking & the AllClad (we do a lot of large volume canning etc). They are comparable in quality and function. The AllClad is ever so slightly taller and narrower, but I prefer the Viking shape to work with on the stove as I'm shorter than my husband. I've found that BonAmi is an excellent cleaner to keep both looking like new inside and out. Only complaint is the graduated lines inside the Viking, it's distracting to see the 11Qt. line just below the rim. It is handy though to use the lines to keep track of how much volume has reduced.Overall I am satisfied with the Viking and recommend it as an affordable alternative to the U.S. brand that I am partial to.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good for soup season!
It’s nice and big for soups and chili. Better price point than my D5 All Clad and works as well.
5.0 out of 5 stars an AMazing pot!
This is now our go-to pot for large soups, stews, and chilis. it also works for pasta of course.it is extremely well made and very easy to clean, and it looks very professional.A little expensive, but it is going to last for years. We love it.
5.0 out of 5 stars High quality for a good price point
Love this pot, 11.5 quarts is plenty of room for stews and soups. What I like about this pot is the diameter to height ratio, the large diameter makes it easy to fry onions and meat for the stew. Also equipped with a steel handle so completely save to put the whole pot into the oven. The “production in China” what others bring up as a disadvantage I cannot follow. The price point speaks for itself. I Am sure this pot got designed and specified in the US. Very high quality cooking utensil with even heat distribution and nice thickness of steel. Very happy with my purchase.
5.0 out of 5 stars Amendment to Previous Review
I love my All-Clad and Staub cookware. Every week during the winter, I make a big pot of soup. I decided it was finally time to replace my inexpensive stockpot. However, All-Clad's stockpot was cost-prohibitive, and Staub doesn't make a stockpot. I did extensive online research on stockpots, including personal reviews. The Viking 3-Ply Stainless Steel Stockpot was highly recommended, so I decided to give it a try........Happy to share that I have not been disappointed! There are 3 elements of high-end cookware that this Viking 3-ply Stainless Steel Stockpot performs equally as well:1. If cooking something like spaghetti sauce, and it burns at the bottom of the pot, the remaining sauce is not ruined with a burnt flavor.2. If anything burns at the bottom of the pot, all that is needed for cleaning, is an overnight soak in Dawn and a run through the dishwasher........Easily, a shiny, clean pot! (For Staub, an overnight soak in Dawn and a gentle scrubbing.)3. It's not necessary to constantly stir a simmering recipe, because the pot heats the ingredients all the way to the top.I should clarify that I don't burn everything that I cook. ;) However, I do have a new gas range that cooks and bakes hotter than my old stove-top. So I have, on occasion, experienced a burned recipe and pot. The only negative element of this pot, is that I wish that a 14 or 16-quart option was available. Overall, I'm very happy with and can highly recommend this Viking 3 Ply Stainless Steel Stockpot.Amendment: I've used this pot at least a dozen times. The one drawback that I've noticed is that the lid doesn't fit snuggly on the pot. So when making soups, sauces, chili, etc. (anything w/liquid), steam escapes from between the lid and pot. This causes the contents in the pot to reduce. Periodically, during the cooking process, I have to add water/liquid, to keep the contents from reducing to the point of burning.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Pot
It is a sturdy tri ply exactly what I wanted
4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Darn Good
I had been eyeing a much more expensive (AllClad) 12-quart stockpot but couldn't bring myself to pay about twice as much as the Viking. I'm glad I ordered the Viking.. it is a beautiful sheen, great size, nice heft, and what really sold me is that the lid fits like a glove. It is certainly more than 'good enough'. One potential drawback that is not clear from the description: according to the box it is designed in the USA but manufactured in China.
Great for salsa and tomato based pasta sauces.
I have had this several months now. Great for large batches of salsa and spaghetti sauce withour scorching.
Excelente marca, feliz por la compra
Excelente calidad, el tamaño que estaba buscando.
Very economical buy for a pot of this type
I bought this primarily for making soup and cooking stock. No problem fitting in a carcass from a 25lb Turkey. I love the clad construction as I don’t worry about hot spots.
You get what you pay for
Love the new pot. Looks great. Very well constructed. Cooks evenly. Should last forever.
