5.0 out of 5 stars Kicks butt
Love this sauce so much! I can take spice and this one kicks my butt but in a good way. I love it for the heat level, taste wise its good but didn't buy it for the taste! Love eating it with my Costco chicken and steaks!
5.0 out of 5 stars 357 Gold edition,
Just buy it, flavor and heat are perfect.
5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome
The taste is great and I find myself eating it just for that, it's hot as expected duh. I like to challenge my co workers and so far all who've tried hate me, big success!
5.0 out of 5 stars Hot Hot Hot!
Be careful when consuming.. this product is very hot and need only a small amount on food. If you like really spicy food this is for you but beware as indicated ….
5.0 out of 5 stars Price is decent for this level of heat AND flavor...
The media could not be loaded. This stuff is the real deal. The hottest I've tried that still has a true sauce flavor instead of just extract heat. You can taste and smell the garlic and onion, and the peppers...especially the reaper. It doesn't have the dark smoky flavor like some of the sauces so it seems to go with more foods. The heat is certainly intense and you need to make sure you don't have any cuts on your lips or tongue or you will regret it in about 3 seconds. Gives a nice warm body buzz for about an hour and you'll even get that slight endorphin rush/energy boost. The little bullet spoon attached is actually about the right size for a large bite of food. A large drop or two will flavor a quart of salsa very nicely. One drop on a taco is rippin' hot! Take every precaution not to get this on your fingers as you will likely end up rubbing your eyes when they start watering from the heat. Also, there is no comparison flavor wise to the Silver Edition or the 600,000 Scoville Mad Dog sauce. Far better and a step up in quality in my opinion. This sauce goes well with eggs/omelettes, red meats, salsa, chili, hot dogs, anything Mexican, your girlfriend, melted cheeses, stuffed veggies, certain cocktails, blackened chicken salads, etc.Price is decent for this level of heat AND flavor.
4.0 out of 5 stars Bright, Lime-Vinegar, lightly sweet sauce... with a truck-load of pleasant mouth-filling heat
First off, 4 stars from me is usually as good as it gets. 5 stars is reserved for some life-changing thing that I can now no longer live without. And while this is a tasty sauce, it doesn't quite hit that level. But it's still worth getting if you like Spicy Sauces. Even if you're a purist who doesn't normally like extracts, try this one. It's legit tasty. For those wondering about the heat, yes, this sauce brings heat, but I disagree with anyone saying it's overpowering. I get a LOT of flavor out of this and in no way does the heat overwhelm that.As for flavors... To me, this is what would happen if Melinda's Hot Sauce took it up about 1000 notches on the heat index. It's a nice lime/vinegary, bright, lightly lightly sweet flavor... that also packs some serious mouth filling heat. It's not over the top heat, at least, to me. But what I think what people are reacting to is the immediacy of the heat (which is just a byproduct of using an extract) because it comes on fast and basically stays put at the level it initially hits you. Lingers well (minute or two) and repeated tastings do build up a bit, but I tend not to find it overbearing.Used so far on:- Back of the hand taste test (I do this with all sauces)- Reheated Potato and Leek Soup- Avocado and Smoked Ham Sandwhich- Tortilla ChipsIf you like very hot sauces (on the level of a Dawson's Ghost Pepper or Sichuan, or a Reaper Squeezin's) I'd give this one a try. If you've never had a very hot sauce before... I think I'd still recommend it. It's tasty, not over the top hot, the heat doesn't linger around forever, and it's versatile as a food additive if you need to dilute it out a bit. I prefer it to ALL of the Dave's Gourmet line up, and a lot of the "OH MAN THIS IS GONNA HURT YOU" type hot sauces.
5.0 out of 5 stars other than normal chili sauces like tapatio, tabasco
I've just recently started trying different hot sauces, other than normal chili sauces like tapatio, tabasco, etc. My friend ordered a bottle of Pain 100%, I tried it, and liked it. I then decided to order a bottle of sauce for myself, but it had to be hotter. I researched and found Mad Dog 357 Gold edition. 1 million scoville units. I drunkenly ordered a bottle. Once the bottle arrived, I was honestly scared to try it. It sat unopened in my pantry for 3 days before I finally decided to try some. At first I just tried a tiny drop on the provided spoon. It was hot, everywhere the sauce touched my tongue or lips went numb, but the flavor was amazing. Now that I had taken the plunge and actually overcome my fear of the sauce, I decided to try more. I put a dollop into a bowl of white chicken chili with navy beans and mixed it in thoroughly. Every bite of chili I ate was hotter. It was as if I had just pulled the chili right out of the microwave piping hot; as every bite was burning my tongue. I've never tasted anything hotter. It might sound odd, but that burning heat is addicting. Almost euphoric. I've been adding a drop of this to almost everything I eat now. Mixed in with mayo on sandwiches. Mixed in with eggs before cooking. Added to salad dressings, and of course to soups and chilis. It's stupid hot, but absolutely delicious.
Hot but not the total package I expected
Pros:-Pain: 9/10 on the top of the tongue and a slight burn in the throat. Seriously a few drops will send you running for milk in unbearable tongue pain.-Only takes a tiny dip of a toothpick to blow your taste buds away and a few generous drops to send you running.-Perfect for a dare or a prank-If you have too much sauce, milk cuts the heat by a solid 90% for as long as you keep milk sloshing over your tongue. Makes me not worry as much about using risky amounts.-doesn’t seem to bother my stomach or burn my butt on the way outCons:-Heavy vinegar taste and smell meaning it will ruin a lot of foods.-No other noticeable taste-Heat only lasts about 10-15 minutes tops-Bad bottle lip design. The sauce is nice and runny but the bottle has to be tipped too far to get the sauce to start pouring so it pours aggressivelyIf you see a video of someone taking a bunch and saying it’s nothing, they’re just good at hiding the pain because this is no joke… Oh you thought you were tough for liking generous amounts of tobasco on everything? Get ready, you’ll put this on the top shelf and preform a ritual to ward this hell fire from entering any of your dishes.Having a bad day? Need to take your mind off it? Dip your lil pinky in some maddog and all you’ll be able to think about is pain, regret, and where the closest cold dairy product is.Working 40+ hour weeks and falling asleep on the job? I think you know where this is going.. That’s right, pop a melatonin and head to bed early.. What did you think I was gonna say? Buy a tropical boat and hire Matthew McConaughey to dive for treasure? Drink hot sauce? Both are equally crazy!…..
Gran salsa.
Esta edición especial de Mad Dog 357 es una verdadera joya. Es muy picante pero no pierde el sabor, a diferencia de la versión Plutonium No 9, que te hace sudar la gota gorda.
