5.0 out of 5 stars Quiet and quick air compressor
The air compressor is well designed with a 10 gallon tank situated vertically upon the base wheels and stand. The unit is quiet for use in a small enclosed space and has an impressive pressure recovery time. Two “push” connectors work beautifully to attach devices with a quick connector.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for anything around the house that's light duty
Finally realized I needed a small compressor for light duty projects. VERY quiet. It's great for inflating tires, blowing dirt off the garage floor and even short sessions with light duty pneumatic tools like a small die grinder. Even though the marketing states it's "powerful" it's power is only useful for quickly filling the tank. Setup is simple and the design well thought-out. I was impressed with the quick-release connectors, good quality intake filters, easy to reach/use the water drain, substantial wheels and rubber feet to minimize vibration. Any "oiless" compressor is NOT meant to run continuously; if it runs for 15 minutes straight, shut it off or it WILL be ruined. The compressor is aluminum and run continuously, it WILL warp, either seizing or losing lots of pressure. It amazes me how some reviewers abuse this little guy and then complain about it. For any decent spray gun, I use a cast iron 5hp two stage 80 gallon model with an oil/water trap, built to run nearly continuously. Anything less than that, this is one heck of a good buy. This is my second compressor from California Air, a much smaller one at a shed which has limited electrical power. They import good stuff. A great buy for many projects.
5.0 out of 5 stars A great investment!
The California Air Tools 10020C Ultra Quiet Air Compressor truly lives up to its name. It is remarkably quiet and very sturdy. I’ve been using it for about a month without any issues. I particularly appreciate the easy-open plug at the bottom, which makes releasing air and water from the canister a breeze—much easier than my old compressor that required unscrewing. The build quality is impressive, with well-done soldering points and a robust structure. Although it is heavy, the wheels and leg pieces provide excellent stability, so I am not worried about it tipping over. Overall, a great investment.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great compressor, super quiet, runs air tools and I even painted my truck with it using a lvlp gun
I'm super happy with this product. I upgraded my little 2 gallon portable compressor which was hella loud and annoying, while this one is super duper quiet, I can't tell you how much I appreciate how quiet it is, I discovered pneumatic and I love those, this runs most air tools just fine, just pay attention to how much cfm they require when buying and your's will run well too. Air tools are cool, whole new world. I actually bought it because I wanted to paint my 66 ford ranchero with single-stage urethane in metallic british racing green and I didn't want to spend a ton of money on a larger compressor and didn't have a lot of space with the truck in the garage, I also wanted a quieter work environment. I picked up a little LVLP (low-volume low-pressure) spray gun from china that was about $120 bucks and even though a lot of people said it wouldn't work, it worked great (I had one redo but that was because I ran the paint haha, my fault). It also blows all the dust out of the garage quite well, especially with a 4' extendible barrel gun. all in all I'm pretty happy with it, I also use it to cool down spot welds when welding thin sheet metal, like body panels so they don't distort from the heat. Sometimes I wish I had more cfm so I could get a better paint gun that is HVLP but since I will only be painting cars once every year or two it fits the balance of my needs better. It's really nice you can still hear your stereo while it is running. So quiet it wouldn't even wake up a sleeping baby hahaha yeah naw that is an exaggeration but you get the point mate.
4.0 out of 5 stars I like it but...
I was out grew my 4CFM @ 90psi air compressor for many reasons. The CMFs were to low for plasma cutting. The noise level practically jars my fillings loose when in operation, it also scares the living Jesus out of me when it switches on to replenish the air. After careful consideration I decided on the CAT 10020C. The specs seems to suit the needs of my home machine shop.It was delivered without incident from Bolo.THE GOOD1) Its pretty quite! By far the quietest compressor Ive ever heard.2) The CFM is good for my needs.3) Tank fills up quickly.4) Assembly was easy. Didn't even open the manual5) Now I can actually leave the air on overnight without worrying about it springing to life and waking the neighbors.THE BAD1) The fittings on the front panel were defective. It leaked really badly when anything was connected. Also one of the fitting was just simply not functional. Had to replace both with a brand that had better flow and better sealing.2) The fittings supplying air from the tank to the regulator and manifold is really cheap and plastic considering the price.3) Its pretty heavy. If you are considering using this for outside jobs rather than a stationary compressor, you should probably shoot for a lighter model. Maybe the 4020. At 80+ pounds its not very portable.4) *** IMPORTANT NOTE: When opening the box, lay the compressor on its side and remove it from its packaging. You can easily damage the water drain vale on the bottom of the machine if you slide it out vertically on a hard floor.Over all it a decent air compressor. Its great if you have a small 20x20 garage shop like mine with a full size lath and milling machine. At 70 db its still is the loudest tool i own.
5.0 out of 5 stars Quality Compressor
Compressor is quiet, powerful and designed to last many years.
It actually is quiet.
Compressor arrived in undamaged condition and that is due to it being packed in a very sturdy double box. Super easy to attach supplied wheels. Plugged it in and yes it is quiet as advertised. Its not silent but you can actually have a conversation near it without having to yell. It holds air well and refills quickly. I've been using it with a paint sprayer and no complaints. A bit pricey so I hope it lasts years. Would recommend.

Great Compressor
Great compressor. It's advertised as being quiet and quiet it is. Perfect compressor for the home garage and supplies plenty of air for all of my air tools. Because it's so quiet, having it cycle on to compress under heavy use is no issue at all. So far after a couple of months of use, there are no issues and I would definitely recommend this compressor!
