Reliable 100SR ROTARY STEAM PRESS IRON***This is a real review from a real housewife. I was not paid or given anything. For almost 3 years, I have enjoyed this “mangle”(what we called it in the 50’s). Made by the same company, Reliable continues a tradition of making a machine that always works and technicians who know you by name and walk you through any issues, small or large. When you need something, they take care of you. ***Worried about ordering from Canada? Don’t. I have dealt with several companies in Canada and it is refreshing to deal with companies who treat you like a neighbor. If they cannot find a knowledgeable technician in your area, they will send theirs.***This machine is a workhorse. Three speeds, great pressure, intense steam with constant or on-demand settings and numerous temperature settings. It is very easy to maneuver (yeah the wheels only roll one way because if they rolled both ways the iron would move when you used it). It was easy to assemble.*** I have ironed everything from men’s dress shirts to ladies’ dresses. I bought it for sheets, as now in my 60’s, my wrist get tired. But now the only time I do not use it, is for chiffon on top of satin because as the fabric is double layered and slippery so it shifts under the roller. So I use a regular iron like once or twice a year.***The one time I had a problem and the lady who answered did not know the answer, she transferred me directly to the technician who works on the rotary irons. He was not rushed and shared a lot of tips with me***For thirty years I wanted this but thought it was too expensive. When I finally ordered one, after a week, my husband said,”I cannot believe you did not buy this years ago and did all that ironing by hand!” LOLThe other rotary iron? Well, they finally dropped their price over 1,000.00. IT IS THE SAME MACHINE!!!, with just a few changes in the look of it, so you can say it is a . . . . Or that you bought it through a fancy store. . . . After researching The competition on an employees’ review site “The Glass Ceiling” and contacting them for technical information, my choice was easy. Unhappy employees are not who I want to deal with and I don’t want a person who just reads a manual to me. I want a person who knows the machine, actually understands my question and gives me the answer, not a sales pitch.*** If you want a reliable rotary iron from a company who specializes in rotary irons and gives you incredible customer service, (no pun intended) Call Reliable :-)***Note: After ordering through Bolo, Reliable told me they would have price matched which would have reduced the number of times it was shipped. So buy it through them and support small local business.***P.S. They also sell an ironing board I bought about 7 years ago that is longer and wider than any other on the market. I then ordered some professional wool felt to increase the padding under the cover. Theirs is not the cheaper padding but if you are as picky as I am - well I make my own improvements on many products in my home. Flagler Beach, FL

I purchased the reliable steam press just over a year ago. I was initially very pleased as it did a wonderful job at pressing linens. Shortly after the one year warranty period expired, however, the steam press stopped working. I reached out to reliable and discovered that there are no repair facilities in the US and that the only way to get the press repaired would be to ship it back to Toronto in Canada. This thing weighs over 100lbs. Reliable told me I could use their carrier to ship it back to them and then back to me at a cost of over $700 for shipping. That is correct $700 roundtrip. That does not include the cost of packaging or the actual repair, just the cost of shipping. They told me they could not estimate what the repair cost would be because they have to inspect it to be certain. They did however say that there was a minimum$65 charge for inspection and repairs were $125 per hour for labor in addition to parts. Do yourself a favor. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM RELIABLE. Miele has this exact same steam press with a repair network in the US.

I have been looking at and wanting a mangle (rotary iron) for years, and finally bit the bullet and ordered this one. Main points are:1. Steam and lots of it.2. Three Steam settings (Low, Med, High) all available with either Steam While Pressing, or Constant Steam. Constant is good for textiles that you do NOT want to press, but only wish to steam. You insert the fabric, and pull it through manually, without using the pedal, so you control the speed, and thus the amount of steam received by your item. This is also helpful for something that you will press, but which needs steam/dampening to get it ready to press. Steam While Pressing is self-explanatory.3. Temperature settings for Synthetic, Silk, Wool, Cotton, and Linen. The two lower settings do not include a steam option.4. Lighted control panel to let you know what's going on, when steam and temperature are reached, if you're low on water, etc.5. Automatic shut-off if not used for 8 minutes. (The lights will keep flashing until you either turn it off or restart, but the heat is shut off for safety.)5. Filter for water that lets you use tap water. In fact, it encourages you to use tap water. The filter material is like what's in my gravity iron, only it's in a plastic container that fits into the opening of the water tank. It's very simple to remove it and fill the tank. Water capacity (1.3L) is such that it lasts through a lot of ironing. You are supposed to empty it to fold the iron and roll it away for storage. I'm able to leave mine unfolded and ready to use at any time, since I have the space for it. Therefore, I have not tried draining the tank.6. Extremely detailed instruction booklet online. I would strongly suggest you do as I did, and PRINT the part of the booklet you will use (it's in English, French, and Spanish). I printed out the English section and made a booklet which I keep by the iron. The lighted indicators on the control panel can be somewhat confusing and I like to check to make sure I am interpreting them correctly. I'm finally getting to where I don't need to look, but I like knowing I can if I want to. It's easier than looking it up on my phone.7. If necessary, you can replace the cover on this iron. I can't imaging needing to for quite some time, but I suppose if you spilled something on it somehow, it might happen.8. A very nice feature is that if you are ironing at a higher temperature, and switch to a lower temperature, the light will flash until it reaches the lower temperature, so you know when it's ready and aren't likely to iron something at too high a temperature. (Many appliances only show the temperature when you're going hotter.)When I got it, the box was pretty beat up, and I worried a little, as I purchased it from the Bolo Warehouse and it was 'used'. I don't think it had ever been out of the box and certainly not opened up and used. The box itself practically had a wooden crate inside, so the iron was in perfect shape. I uncrated it myself and was able to sit it on end, and just roll it out of the box, and set it up by myself. To practice and learn to use it, I first ironed all my scarves and shawls, as flat items are super easy. This was great practice, and I have gone on to iron lots of different things, but mainly my king-size linen sheets and pillowcases, which otherwise look like crumpled rags after washing. They look like new when I use the rotary iron on them. It's perfect for table linens and yardage as well. You'll wonder how you ever got along without it.I would recommend this rotary iron to anyone.

2.0 out of 5 stars Does not work for large linens

    A.C. · December 4, 2023

If you have a linen that is wider than the machine, it will crunch up on the edges and come out with severe wrinkles going down the sides. Additionally, it forms a wrinkly waves due to the fabric bunching up while still steaming hot. It is not useable for large table linens, and is not worth the price of $3000. Something like this could maybe be useable for a much lower $1000 price tag. Additionally, it is not designed well and it will actually leak burning hot water on your leg while you are ironing due to a design flaw.
