I've heard about this for years and never had the nerve to try it. I just started an herb garden and while researching how to keep bugs away naturally and Diatomaceous Earth kept popping up. I figured I'd give it a try and LET ME TELL YOU. I will never use any other kind of pesticide EVER again. It's a little messy, so I recommend stationing your duster refill area near a more infested area of your yard or house just so it doesn't go to waste and you won't have to clean it up. If you have ANY kind of bug problem - USE THIS. We've also been overcome by tiny biting ants in our yard and I looked up how to take care of it naturally. OF COURSE, D.E. popped up again! So I went to town using the sand/d.e. in a grass seed spreader spreading it all over my 1 acre yard (I only needed 1- 10 pound bag of Harris Food Grade D.E. and 1 bag of play sand for the big job), while heavy dusting on specific ant hills and heavy bug traffic areas. So far After a month, I've seen a huge difference. They're relocating themselves away from the house, and I was able to track them to their nest. I dug up the nest, threw all the dirt into the woods far away from my house and spread the D.E everywhere in between. It's a slower process, but this stuff kills most insects within a 16-24 hour time period giving them no room to pro-create. I've only treated my whole lawn once and EVERYTHING seemed to calm down -mosquitos, biting flies, wood roaches, ear wigs, the ants AND even ticks!!! My dog used to walk in with at least 1 tick every other day and the fleas are GONE! I'm planning on treating my whole yard 2 more times within the next 2 months and then I'll only be treating the perimeter to keep everything away where I don't have to use as much D.E. and let everything settle back to normal. This stuff WORKS. I'll also be spreading it in my attic when I go to clean it to keep everything out of that! If you're on the fence, I suggest TRY IT! It is so much cheaper than an exterminator AND the food grade version is safe around kids and pets!!!!

I cannot say enough good about this. So I had a huge flea infestation problem that came on fast. We have 1 cat and she is an indoor/now completely outdoor cat. At least till it gets cold. I bought a $20 can of carpet spray to kill fleas that was veterinarian recommended and looked like the best stuff out there. Well it wasn't. The fleas were back in a week. So I tried this stuff and holy cow I am amazed. It is well worth the money. I bought the 10 lb bag because it was the best deal. I used the tool that comes with it and it puts the dust in the air and sprays the dust where ever you need it. I left with the kids for most of the day so the dust could settle. This stuff isn't instant. After about 2 days I started to notice a little difference. We were still seeing fleas but not as many. After a week and a half I have maybe noticed 1 or 2 a day. Here's the best part. My son had bites all over his ankles and waist where you can tell hes gotten the worst of it. Probably because he jumps around and rolls around on the carpet playing because hes a kid. I didn't realize till after I did some research on this stuff that if you put it on bug bites it dries them up also and it did. All his spots are almost gone. I had even taken him to the doctor at one point because I didn't think they were ever going to clear up and he wouldn't stop scratching. The cream we used didn't work but this stuff has. It has worked wonders. It dried his bites right up. I also dusted my cats food with it a little bit and she doesn't seem to notice or care. This stuff is safe for human and animal use except it should NOT be breathed in. I vacuum every few days and reapply and will continue to do so until I know they are completely gone. The way it works for bugs is that it scratches them (since its a dust) and it dehydrates them. They hate it. I am still experimenting with this stuff and will update after I treat my basement for spiders. I highly recommend this stuff. I didn't get this stuff so I could write a review. I didn't get it at a discount. I just want people to know how great this stuff is when used for fleas because I know how hard it is to get rid of them and how hast it can break your wallet in the process. I paid 24.99 for a 10 lb bag and it was well worth it. Please do your research on this before spending tons of money on other stuff.Please like my review if you have found it useful.
Love the all purpose use for this powder
I had an outbreak of Beatles and this particular powder got rid of everything as well as the spiders I use it for the outside as well. I even had a little bit to my dogs to help with parasites as we live out in the country It’s the best brand And super easy to use

Spreaded in May around outside house and fence. No pesty visitors since. The supplied spreader works nice. Just wear a mask when handling powder to protect you from lungs, eyes and throat irritation. Powder cause a very fine mist. Very happy with results.
Excellent multi-purpose product
Fast shipping, good packaging and, great product! Parasite cleanse for the whole family and pets. Works wonders in the basement getting rid of creepy crawlies, ants, spider mites and pests in general. Great for garden/house plants, Affordable natural and will last us a decade. Wonderful product
Very good product, poor packaging
We have five large GSDs and we found with over the years using Diatomaceous Earth (DE) is very effective as flea control, both with putting it on the dogs’ coats and on their dog pillows and yes couch too. We use the DE internally and intermittingly both for us and dogs since it is a natural detoxifying agent and improves joint, bone and ligament health. We found it beneficial too for improved skin, nails and teeth. DE is supposed to help control parasites and work as a dewormer too. In the vegetable garden and flower beds it can kill slugs and aphids and even ant hills. ( However it can also destroy benefical insects as well like bees and do not apply direct to flowers). It also serves as a household cleaning product: scrubbing power . As with using any “supplement” please investigate especially if using internally and advise your doctor or vet. We have just listed a few examples of how we are using DE and there is a lot more ( sprinkle in kitty litter or chicken coops, over DIY remedies, etc). We like being able to use an natural organic products rather than a chemical ones whenever possible. Please ensure that the product is food grade as this one is and note the powder can irritate the eyes and lungs when applying so take necessary precautions. We like the ideal that this shipment came with a duster which work amazing well when putting powder deep into dogs coats. However can still be a bit dusty and messy and best to do outside. Duster is also help to apply to difficult areas like entrances into hornets nest and ant hills and into other cracks and crevices. The reason we give this DE product 4 out of 5 rating is because of it comes in comes in a bag with a Ziploc closure which does not work well at all. Ziploc zipper gets clogged with fine dust making it almost impossible to seal. We ended up having to move this product to plastic cover pails both for ease of access in the future plus overall better storage protection. That we had to do that outside and wear mask since it was a very dusty job. In the past with buying other DE products we had received them already in a heavy duty plastic pail with air tight lid which was very handy. The best way for Harris Diatomaceous Earth Food Grade product to improve is to reconsider its packaging format since the zipper seal c bags does not work well at all.If you find this review helpful, please click on comment below.
