Have only been using this for about a week, was easy plug and play set up. Downloaded VLC software and CDs play with ease. Also used the SD Card reader which worked very well. Wish it read more than just SD cards as I have older XD cards laying around. Have not attempted to burn any discs so this review is strictly based on the card reader and DVD player.Overall this is a great unit for the valued price.

Fast shipping and worked great upon connecting to laptop. Have not tried all the capabilities yet, but so far I have no reason to doubt function. Nice size and convenient cord storage on unit.

I like to burn music to CDs for my trips out of town twice a month, this CD burner works super fast and I haven't have any problems with it at all. The attached cord is HANDY too, no more having to search for the right cable in my drawer to connect to my computer. Which is does instantly, I just plug it in and open my Windows Media Player (I'm old school, I know) and I select my songs from my music folder and paste them into the WMP and hit burn. Within 5 minutes of starting the burn I'm putting a label on the CD and out the door. I haven't used it as the regular CD drive to play my old games yet but if it burns with ease I'm sure it'll play those games too. I don't like downloading all my media onto a cloud that can be hacked, I like having hard copies - pictures, videos etc. on CDs so if something happens to my hard drives I have back up copies. I previously had another CD burner/drive and loved it, loaned it to my brother who lost it so I purchased this one, the compact design is SO FREAKING HANDY with storing it too. Well worth the money and it's light weight so I could put it in my laptop bag with all my accessories and it wasn't heavy at all. It weighs about the same as a DVD case, just feather light.

I'm a non-piano-playing choir director, and most of the music publishers are no longer making CD trax to use in rehearsals with choirs (very, very costly, I'm sure) - so I must purchase the publishers' recorded Mp3 (lossy) downloads - however they produced them. I then re-record them (lossless) with Audacity and break sections of the recording into separate short tracks as a convenience recording for rehearsing the choir (I have no full-time rehearsal accompanist).Well, lo and behold, the internal CD/DVD in my laptop quit working - doesn't even show up in the computer file structure. - so I needed an outboard USB player/recorder to do what I need to do . . . Roofull to the rescue!!!I was thrilled when I plugged the Roofull Optical Drive USB 3.0 unit in, heard the beautiful music coming through my headphones, and was able to continue producing rehearsal trax to aid my choir in learning their music. Thanks, Roofull!!!!P. S. Unfortunately, the rest of my laptop went ahead and died during an update! Not sure what I'm going to do about a replacement, but I have a PC tower at my workplace that I can plug my portable Terabyte drive that contains all the saved recordings into, and work from there until I decide.Roof, Roof!!!!

I ordered this as my new computers didn't have one. This works great and is very compact. I do wish I had paid attention to cor length in advance. The cord is very short and does not work well for vertical desktops. It is fine for laptops but you need a stand or a longer cord. I ordered an "extension cord" if you will. Cord length is no longer an issue.

This protable external DVD reader Writer works better then expected. Very quiet , and easy to use. Like the fact it is only 1 usb plug in. Design is nice and sleek in my opinion. Burned a data dvd well. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a external DVD.

Be sure to read the information that is enclosed. There are two, free, downloads required before you can burn a cd/dvd. Having discovering this, quite satisfied with the product.
No sirve para copiar discos
Compre este producto para poder copiar discos de musica a mi computadora, descarge vlc, music bee, use windows media player, ningun programa podia copiar mas de una cancion antes de bloquearse completamente. Como se que era este lector? por que compre uno LG en su lugar y ese funciono de maravilla.No vale la pena si deseas copiar mucha informacion, no se que tal sirva para quemar discos pero asumo que sera igual de pesimo.
