I love the mango flavor. They smell like fresh mango. If you like sour, then strawberry is good too. But apple is too bitter for me.Pineapple is not in the picture but it’s my favorite. Not bought this time because it got expensive.

Light weighted halfway filled can . High in calories for fruit, which is very good and health incase of an emergency . Has a chip like texture, but a very fresh taste ! Sort of pricey for the amount, but this is very good to have because it is a 30 year shelf life !

It bothers me how they never show what the actual product looks like or how much you're getting. I know what a mango looks like what do YOUR mangos look like? So this is a picture of the actual product you're getting. This stuff is good. We eat it for snacks. It's a whole lot more convenient than keeping fresh fruit around for a couple weeks before chucking in the compost pile. We buy this often and use them in cereal, ice cream, trail mix, snacks etc. A can lasts my household about a week or two. Its real easy to eat too much but I'd rather my kids eat eight servings of fruit than junk. The freeze dried texture is light and airy as opposed to the traditionally dried stuff which is denser and chewy. These kind of "melt" in your mouth. I don't love that the mangoes are diced but that's not really a big deal. It doesn't stop anyone from eating them.

I like Augason Farms anything, especially the fruit line. It’s a company that’s well-known by people in the prepper community. Me? Well, I do have a lot of Augason Farms products in my long-term storage, but also eat a lot of it. This is my first time trying the mangos and I’m quite pleased. My real favorite are their dehydrated strawberries, which I’ve purchased several times. These freeze-dried mangos were much better than expected. I was thinking more in the line of small chunks, but was pleased to see much larger ones. I ate several pieces right out of the can, just like I do with the strawberries. I often took them to work and, with the addition of the mangos, I can tote along a container of mixed fruit. These rehydrate quite easily by pouring some hot water over them. I decided to have an afternoon snack and also added some Augason Farms Freeze Dried Strawberry Slices (this is a clickable link). There is a recipe on the label, but I can think of several uses for these mango bits, including in an ice cream sundae. For the most part, people are probably putting these aside in their emergency supplies. The shelf life is approximately thirty years, but I’m using them now. The price is quite equitable, but as with anything, wait for the sales and purchase in bulk. If you seriously don’t want a single dent, take a pass because I’ve had a few cans come with dents. I simply separate those and use them immediately.

Hey fellow Boloians!::TLDR:: Worth it, buy it, eat it, get a tummy ache LOLI have bought so much of the Augason Farms stuff all to great fanfare. The pineapple is a definite favorite as well as the strawberries; especially with the kiddos. The Mango was a little off-putting at first. I expected this wonderful aroma of mango when I first popped the top. Instead, I get a little feet and dirt smells. I waited a bit and the "freshly worked out foot" smell disappeared leaving me with an earthy fruit smell; not bad really. So, I sat to watch a little TV and get on with the day. I binged the entirety of a season and realized, to my chagrin, that 1/3 of the can evaporated! So mysterious 😮! My stomach hurt too. Turns out, that much freeze dried food sucks all the moisture from your body leaving you a bit dehydrated (like a zombie 🧟‍♂️.) Kids came down and we're naturally drawn to the can. "WOW, they didn't fill the can too much." They look at me huddled over the sink chugging water, back at the can, see an entire season gone, and reply, "HAHAHA someone's got a belly ache!" To which I gurgly say, "Nope they disappeared."Well the can is all gone. Lasted a couple bowls of cereal and another couple days of shows with the kids. Was it good. Yes, and worth it!

3.0 out of 5 stars Tastes good, good price for the quantity received, but hit or miss on freshness and size of pieces

I use freeze dried mango in my oatmeal every morning, and I absolutely love it. I was buying Trader Joe’s, and theirs is really great, it’s also very expensive. TJ’s is cut into slices, and I end up cutting it into pieces, so I don’t need the expense associated with getting the nice big slices of freeze dried mangoes. I tried this product, and had no problems with the flavor, texture, or freshness like others have. I agree that you get about a half filled can, and I’m assuming it’s because if they have to make smaller cans for just this product, it’d cost more as they probably have an abundance of the #10 cans. That doesn’t bother me either. Your cost per ounce is by the weight of the product ins, not including the weight of the can, and it’s still very inexpensive compared to the same product by other manufacturers. In fact, I bought 2 cans and just poured one into the other so I only store 1 can, but double the quantity. My concern is all the reviews of those receiving smelly or not edible product, and how small the pieces have become. I was getting mine from Trader Joe’s, and theirs wonderful, and you get large slices, but I’d have to cut them into pieces anyway for my oatmeal. Lately, Augason’s has been sending a can full of pieces under 1/2”, and with a lot of just crumbs and powder. It’s not a good deal if you can even detect it as fruit. I wish they’d get better quality management over the product without increasing the price. I’ve stopped buying this from them for now, especially since it’s not returnable if you’re not happy. If reviews start getting better, I’d consider buying again.
