Beautiful color. The knives are actually sharp which is why I bought the set. For some people the small size of the tea spoons are really coffee or desert spoons. The cost is too high.

I am not a person who is a eatery, connoisseur, or even the products people use for that. I am, however, a person who grew up poor and I understand the dollar store. I am a person who understands the thrift shop. I am a person who understands the yard sale and believe me when I say that you would likely not even find these in any of those places and that’s because they are so cheaply made if you found them I doubt if anybody would sell them for more than $.50.These are lightweight. They are using subpar metals and plastics and the craftsmanship is so bad that the areas where the fort is supposed to be separate from the metal parts, they are and some of them fused together. The plastics could be easily scratched because they are that cheap. Even the box that it came in that pretends to be a tray, that holds these devices, that one might was put inside of a drawer in your kitchen is a very dollar store cheap fabrication of something of qualityWhen you consider that these are in the $200 range, I would be embarrassed had I put them out on my table and someone asked me about them, their cost and me having to have to tell them that I was fool enough to spend $200 on this awful mess. I would not recommend someone buying these unless they are in a thrift shop and they are selling the whole box for $.25 .I usually don’t give bad reviews, unless for some reason, said item is so atrociously awful that it compels me, to warn others.Wouldn’t recommend these

Updated review(10-23-2014):Since there are some statements that these are made in China, I'll not confirm that. Mine included paperwork stating made in France and each of the knives is embossed "Made in France". The bee emblem is on them too. I've been using them for a couple months now and no complaints over everyday usage. Knives still sharp, the plastic is still tightly bonded to the metal. But its a fact, there are a wide array of values with this brand with knockoffs everywhere on the web. The good stuff is much more costly(over 3X more expensive per place setting). Williams Sonoma has the better quality Laguioles if you don't want to go thru the Euro websites and do the Euro conversion to buy direct from the manufacturer.Original review:This isn't the premium Laguiole line of flatware, the price indicates that and the thinness of the metal confirms it. The good stuff will cost you at least $90 for a 4 or 5 piece place setting. For that you get thicker metal, at least double the width of these right here. Knives won't bend as these easily do. Forks, spoons, knives are weightier in the good stuff.So what about these? For everyday usage they are fine but I hand wash. I wouldn't roll these out for a dinner party but for the day to day world, these low end Laguioles are fine. The set comes razor sharp, buffed to a mirror finish, tightly assembled and good looking. However I did buy a set of 8 of the expensive premium stuff after getting these low enders from Bolo, that stuff is perfect for entertaining!

While the set looks impressive, I had one knife with a cracked handle. The crack runs from the base to the first rivet as if it was riveted on too tight. Perhaps it occurred from shipping but it doesn’t seem that way. All I can say is I’ve got to use the broken handle knife so my guests don’t get the wrong idea about serving them with broken utensils.

The Design is Nice, but the plastic handles do not honor the product, Brand, or Price.Being made from silver-painted plastic, the scratches will appear immediately. When I opened the box, 50% of the forks had scratches on the handles, and you can seeUnacceptable for this brand and price.
