5.0 out of 5 stars Works well
No way was I going to keep taking Excedrin or those horrible medications with side effects my Dr was trying to give me. My migraines were starting to take over my life on a day to day and I was starting to feel hopeless until I stumbled upon these. Migrelief is hands down the best thing ever discovered. I bought these along with the Daily formula. Took them at the first sign of a migraine and it has helped. Better and safer than taking excedrin which can be damaging if taken too much. It has really helped me get my life back! I will be keeping these on hand forever.
3.0 out of 5 stars Nasty tasting, but they just may work.
I think this stuff works. I have tried this on 3 separate occasions now, taking 3 pills each at a time at the first inkling that I am starting to get a migraine. The first time I really think they helped. The next two I’m not so sure. I should have taken more doses, but felt so bad I couldn’t hardly move. The pills are very large and taste gosh-awful! They have an extremely organic-powdery taste and it’s definitely a hard pill to swallow. It’s not something you’ll want to down with water- it’ll take something with flavor to wash out these bad boys.
1.0 out of 5 stars BEWARE
Original review below. New review:This stuff could literally have killed me over the weekend. I following the labeling instructions and took four caps at the beginning of a migraine, another two caps two hours later. I developed *extreme* nausea and vomiting that got worse over the course of three days despite the Zofran I'm given for migraines. By day three I was having alternating sweating and chills, pervasive goosebumps, felt like I wanted to die. It took me several days to realize that the N/V was being caused by the *magnesium* in the MRN, which has bad, bad side effects at high doses [...]:Presentation of hypermagnesaemiaFeatures include: Nausea and vomiting. Facial flushing. Hypotension.. Paralytic ileus (due to smooth muscle paralysis). Weakness, followed by flaccid muscle paralysis. Disappearance of deep tendon reflexes. Respiratory depression. Bradycardia Complete heart block or cardiac arrest (at levels >6.0-7.5 mmol/L).Investigations for hypermagnesaemia Serum magnesium level. Hypocalcaemia is often present and these levels should also be checked. TFTs and an early morning cortisol test should be performed if hypermagnesaemia is unexplained, recalcitrant or recurrent. ECG.Hypermagnesaemia management Usually withdrawal of the cause, if excessive intake, will solve the problem. It should be preventable by monitoring if Mg-containing medication is being used, especially in those with poor renal function. Hypermagnesaemia can be corrected using IV calcium. The patient should be treated in an intensive care unit with regular ECG and serum monitoring. If the patient has a normal urine output and renal function, Mg loss can be enhanced using IV saline infusions and furosemide diuresis. Dialysis may be occasionally be required for patients with: Renal insufficiency. Severe hypermagnesaemia (>4 mmol/L). Serious cardiovascular or neuromuscular symptoms irrespective of serum Mg level. On discharge, the patient's ongoing medication regime should be reviewed to ensure that it does not include Mg-containing laxatives or antacids. So: Don't risk your heart for a migraine. I'm throwing this stuff out and hope you'll do the same.--------I'm kind of amazed that this stuff lives up to its promise. I take a fistful of prophylactic and abortive meds for my chronic migraines. I got my first bottle of this yesterday, took four caps when I arrived home with a burgeoning headache, and had relief within an hour and no side effects, which is more than I can say for the Voltaren/Midrin/Zofran cocktail I have from my neuro. Just ordered a few more bottles--spares for the house and one to keep at work. One drawback: It is kind of expensive for what you get, as you can use up to 6 caps for one headache. However, it's still a better return on investment than most of my Rxs and *definitely* preferable to a trip to the ER!
5.0 out of 5 stars MIRACLE IN A JAR
Make sure you eat a cracker or some type of food before taking (a very small portion it doesn’t have to be a lot) and take with water. This is a little miracle drug! Thank you Jesus! It knocked my headache out within minutes... I had one of those allllllll day stabbing headaches... my daughter unfortunately is the one who gets the horrible sinus/migraines (worse than mine) about once a month and she told me to take these and I told her no at first (because it’s for her not me, but she being the mama hen, I did.) y’all I’m telling you works! My daughter takes the other one daily & if she has one coming on she’ll take this... it’s been an answered prayer. I was able to rest that night without my head pounding.Sorry for any typos & all that fun stuff.... not an English major only a healthcare worker ☺️ God Bless
5.0 out of 5 stars I think it works...
I take the regular migrelief and have had terrific results. Specifically, I've not had a migraine headache in almost 10 years. I keep this product (migrelief now) with me at all times however. I'd say perhaps twice a year, I still get a migraine aura (green lights, squiggly lines in my field of vision) that used to mean "bad migraine coming". My protocol is downing four of the migrelief now and three extra strength excedrins when that happens. Headache never comes. I can tell afterwards, that I might have had one because when I valsalva (bear down, cough), I get a sudden momentary paroxysm of headache. That regimen works for me. But I'm a big guy, so three extra strength excedrins may be a bit much for a small woman.
