The sharp edges of the silica in DE cut into the exoskeletons of insects, damaging them and causing them to dehydrate and die.DE is considered safer than chemical pest control products. However, it can irritate the skin and eyes, so it's recommended to wear a mask when applying large amounts.

They work well
3.0 out of 5 stars Stuck mostly to my socks
I get it that these are supposed to trap all kinds of (dreadful) bed bugs as they are running amok--mine must be smart ones because haven't caught any. Finally, I tried to open up the traps (they are triangle shaped when assembled with the sticky inside on the bottom) and put them under my bedposts on the theory the little creepers would have to creep up the bedpost, but then I ended up stepping on the edges myself and getting glue on my socks, slippers etc. I persevered because winning against bed bugs is a loooong game, but still no joy (yet I am getting bit once every couple months) anyway, haven't caught a one on the glue, but am also using diatomaceous earth liberally (like I threw a bag of flour under my bed) washing everything once a week, I encased my mattress in a cover and am spraying the mattress, pillows and rugs with the cedar based repellent every week. I wish everyone good luck in battling the little b**tards I'm pretty sure this has cost me some years off my life.
4.0 out of 5 stars Bug traps
Very easy to use
1.0 out of 5 stars Hasn't worked for me
I realize traps need to be this sticky due to how little bed bugs weigh, but working with them and trying very hard not to touch the pad is difficult. Especially trying to free your finger(s).I have not caught a single bug. I believe the major problem is there is nothing to attract them to the trap. Giving the pads a strong lemon scent would do it. Bed bugs cannot resist lemon. Usually it would be the acid in the lemon juice that kills them. This would be the scent to attract, then getting stuck on the pad and they're done. No need for the cover part. If the cover even barely touches the pad while trying to set it up, there is no getting it off. One wasted. Obviously, these did not work for me.
5.0 out of 5 stars These catch bugs - period
The negative reviews on here are absurd. These things work great and not just for bed bugs. If your BED is infested with bugs, of course they aren't going to catch them because they are hiding IN your matress or box spring, not on the floor! These DO catch any and all bugs that walk into them. I've put them under beds, under bookshelves, under the furniture and in the basement because that's where bugs like to hide. These do the job and are easily disposable. If you have a bedbug infestation IN your bed, these will do little because the pests are already nested up nice and cozy inside your matress just waiting for you to go to sleep. Common sense folks!

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed🙄🙄
I purchased these based on the reviews of others and so far I have been disappointed. I feel like I wasted my money. I have had these traps out for about 2 weeks and they haven't trapped ANY bed bugs..... only 1 cricket!! I had high hopes that these would work. But so far, no luck at all!! Very disappointing
Useless

Does nothing at all. Followed all instructions.
