I love this scale. After searching and reading I settled on this one and am Glad I did. The weight measured is absolutely perfect every single time, and repeatable every single time. No fluctuations at all! Even on grams! It is well thought out and you can see how durable they made it. I know there are sleek and futuristic looking scales out there...but for accuracy and room to work and all that, you can not beat this scale! All the other reviews say the same thing. There is a reason! If you need a scale with perfect calibration and function this is it. It has many modes as well, Lb., grams, oz., etc...

I have been using this now for a few months. I bought it to replace a cheaper kitchen scale, because it would malfunction on the regular. This one has functioned perfectly since I bought it. I would recommend this scale to anyone looking for a kitchen scale that is accurate and works perfect every time used.

This scale does everything as advertised. I am an executive chef in a high end tea shop that has a huge focus on baking. Scones, crumpets, fresh in house made bread and English muffins, along with a signature cake that's been served at this same restaurant for 140 years that's in the James Beard classics cookbook. The scales I had were almost as old as the restaurant. Old, rusty, no metric conversion and generally not accurate enough to maintain any kind of consistency day to day. I shopped around and every other digital scale that had all of the features of this one all cost at least twice as much and my boss wouldn't give me the budget to buy a true balance bakers scale that cost $400. This scale has a pretty big platform to hold even bigger measuring vessels while still being able to see the display. The platform is also removable for easy cleaning. The display is nice and big so it's easy to read and super bright. The hinged control and display cover is a nice feature and is easily removed for cleaning. It also came with two flexible plastic control and display covers that will allow you to change display setting with it in place. I love how I can change the display from just ounces to just pounds with another setting that displays both pounds and ounces so when I'm scaling out ingredients for bread and need 5lbs of flour and then 2oz of yeast, I don't have to change the display. It also will convert to metric to grams and kilograms. Do yourself a favor and get the power cord right away. It does come with cheapo batteries which is a nice feature if you need portability but in a commercial kitchen, battery power probably won't last long. It does have an auto off feature which in my opinion is a tad short and it even turns itself off when on AC power which I'm not thrilled about but it's minor when you consider what you get for the money. I might be able to disable the auto off feature but I've only been using this scale for two weeks. So far it's been perfect. The instructions recommend calibrating the scale before using it. I already had a 1oz, 1gr, 1lb, and 1kg, calibration weight set and it was dead on right out of the box. The only other thing that I wish was different was I wish it had a bit more weight to it so it stayed put a little better but now I'm nitpicking. I havent used the baking percentage feature yet as all the recipes I use already have multiple batch measurements as well as metric and standard weights listed so i can really speak for that. All in all, for what this scale costs, its awesome. Great scale for the money.

We bought two of these scales recently to replace two digital scales that we had used for several years. First, the pros:- The scale has a large display that is backlit in a light blue color. It's easy to read.- The platform is large enough that you can place a large bowl on it without covering the display.- You can power the scale with an electrical plug or batteries.- It comes with a clear, hard plastic cover and several thinner, more flexible plastic covers that protect the led display (sort of a con too, see more below).- It comes with percentage programming and other advanced features that we haven't used yet.Cons:- We removed the hard plastic cover immediately. If you are consistently using the buttons on the display, you will need to flip the hard cover up each time to access the buttons. Seemed impractical for our purposes. The hard plastic cover is meant to be removed, so if we ever wanted to reinstall it, we could.- The thinner plastic covers for the display are held on by friction, which means that the slightest bump sends them off the scale to the counter, floor, or other surface nearby. Since the thin plastic cover is meant to be used while installed on the display, this happens often. Perhaps a thin line of adhesive (think post it note or similar) would help it stay in place. While we really like the idea of keeping the display clean, the thin plastic shield is problematic.- There are no rubber feet on the bottom of the scale, so when you try to press the buttons on display, the scale will slide a bit on the counter. The scale is light and it doesn't take much to shift its position. This is compounded with the presence of flour, etc. I will probably end up gluing four rubber feet on the bottom to prevent this, but it would have been nice if the scale came with it, as many products do.- Lastly, and the biggest one for us, is that even though the scale measures out to 0.01 (hundredths) on the display, it rounds the total to either 0.05 or 0.1. For example, if you were measuring out dough incrementally, the scale will read 3.00 ounces, and then move to 3.05 ounces when you add additional dough. There is no way to measure 3.01, 3.02, 3.03, or 3.04 ounces of dough or whatever else you are measuring. Once the weight hits 3.03 or more, the display reads 3.05. This may not be important to your recipes, but it the display is little misleading. There may be a setting that changes this, but I have not found it yet.

The media could not be loaded. I love the terability of the scale. My first KD-8000 lasted me 7 years. I love that it has an auto shut off, and the options to change between grams, ounces, and pounds. It's really easy to use and easy to transport from one area to another. It's not super heavy, but you can tell that with the weight of the scale, it's definitely high quality. If you are a baker or you make any type of products where you're weighing out based on a formula or a recipe, it has the percentage option as well which is really nice. Great scale overall!

Great set of scales, super accurate
Been using these for a few months now, mostly for cakes and cookies. Super accurate, whether you're measuring a little or a lot, decently bright screen and a few different tricks up it's sleeve, which is nice. It is a little more plasticky than I'd like, doesn't feel quite as good as it looks, but aside from that it's fantastic.

Accurate scales. Well made and easy to clean.I use the tare function every time to add different amounts of ingredients during the course of making the recipe. I highly recommend these scales.
