About this item:

  • 95% Cotton, 5% Spandex
  • Self-Soothing: The Woombie Convertible Swaddle is a one-step light, breathable baby swaddle designed with the option for arms in or out; multi-dimensional stretch and a zipper prevent unraveling; this wearable baby blanket encourages back sleeping and self-soothing; the stretchy but snug fit moves "with" the baby, simulating the feeling of being held, touched, and cuddled
  • Innovative Design: Designed by an RN BSN and nursing team, this ergonomically shaped swaddle blanket is effective and easy to use; we believe that by allowing natural, “womb-like” movement to occur during swaddling, baby’s transition from womb to world will be more effective and appreciated by parents and little ones
  • Arms In or Out: Depending upon baby's needs and milestones, arms can be snuggled in for sleep or out for rolling, playing, and use in some strollers; baby-friendly snaps; arms open to convert from the Original Woombie swaddle to an arms-free sleeper sack when the time arises to transition baby
  • Quick and Simple Swaddling: No origami required; this easy-to-use, one-step swaddle sack will not unravel as a square blanket can; when arms are tucked in, the swaddle gently cocoons baby’s arms to keep hands away from face and allows soothing natural arm and leg movement; two-way zipper allows for simple diaper changes to help keep baby comfortable
  • Comfortable and Lightweight: Our patented swaddle design is made with a 95% cotton/5% spandex fabric to promote gentle airflow; the design is hip and shoulder friendly and the narrowed waistline gently compresses the tummy, providing additional comfort for your baby; seamless interior

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally a swaddle that works

My baby was not particularly fond of swaddling and didn’t do well with the tight arms down or the arms up swaddles, he also easily escaped traditional blankets. He really liked the regular swaddle version and did very well with transitioning to arms out, he was able to transition in a week and now we use this as a sleep sack. The fabric is stretchy and gives a nice hug to the torso while allowing the legs to flare out naturally, it also gives enough stretch for baby to move his arms to his chest, side and up to his face without triggering his rooting reflex. I also like that the buttons are not loud, my baby never startled while I switched his arms asleep. My only complaint is that I wish it was longer, my baby is by no means tall being in the 20th percentile for height at 3 months and is already growing out of the 3-6 month size lenght wise.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for big babies who hate swaddling

I really like this product. My 10 week old has never been a fan of having her arms tightly swaddled so I always swaddled with arms out. Of course this led to waking and unsettled sleep at times due to her newborn reflexes. She’s also a big baby for her age and could easily get her arms out of normal Velcro swaddles or would wake herself up grunting and trying. This product is a great one for babies who don’t necessarily like traditional swaddles and/or get out of them! My almost 14 lb and over 25 in long 10 week old stays in it perfectly and likes it just fine since she can move her arms! I wouldn’t say she’s sleeping longer with it, but she is certainly sleeping more peacefully and uninterrupted with movement of her arms as well as falling asleep more easily in her crib. I also love that I can pop open the arms and let them out for when she is laying in my bed so it’s safer. Great product! I don’t regret the purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars great swaddler for babies that tolerate/enjoy being swaddled

My first daughter never really needed to be swaddled to help her settle for naps etc, so I didnt even think of getting any swaddlers before the second one came. With our second, he was fine settling for naps but I noticed his newborn flailing reflexes woke up him and he never napped for very long. Once I went back to work and he went to daycare, the caregivers at the center are in the practice of swaddling young babies for naps, and all he needed was to be swaddled and paci and he went right out and stayed asleep until he was hungry/wet etc. We bought the woombie and it helped me break him of nursing to sleep in the evenings. after the feeding, i zip him up with his paci and he dozes right off. the woombie is pretty light weight, however in the warm NC summer evenings, i usually just put him in the woombie in a diaper and maybe a onesie, but unfortunately no longer have a use for all of the adorable footie pajamies we were given! =( it is nice and stretchy but fitted enough to keep them from waking themselves up. i also like the dual zippers so that i can just unzip from the bottom for those middle of the night diaper changes without too much hassle when you have a sleepy hungry crying baby kicking his legs around during the diaper change! i have not tried it with the arms out option yet, bc for me, the point is to keep his arms secured, like a cute little baby straight jacket as my husband calls it =)

This was pretty snug, only fit my son until he was about 10 pounds, so I didn’t get much use out of it. However, it was one of the better swaddles in that he couldn’t pop his hands out easily! He always slept well in this, but unfortunately was only able to wear it a few times. Other swaddles continued to fit as he grew (most small sizes fit up to 13 or 14 pounds), whereas this one became very tight very quickly. I would recommend getting a size up.

I purchased on if this for my newborn who grew out of the SwaddleMe and Summer Infant type swaddlers in the newborn sizes. While looking around, I found this brand. I needed a larger size, a zipper for diaper changes, no velcro and something that transitions to arms out. It arrived before my daughter was quite at the recommended size, so it is still loose. It still provides some swaddle, more thank arms up type swaddlers. She struggles against it less because her arms aren't pinned unnaturally to her sides. It'll fit her after she's able to roll because she'll be able to pop her arms out. Velcro in other brands was loud, ill fitting, scratchy and destroyed other clothing it gets washed with. The zipper makes this easy to put on, easy for diaper changes, gentler for baby or those holding baby. The fabric is sturdy and washes well. It will last through a few babies. Overall, I would recommend and even purchase again.

5.0 out of 5 stars This was the absolute best swaddle!

I have a lot of great babysitters in my family, but none of them are good at swaddling. This swaddle was easy to use for everyone. My little one loved it too! I loved it so much, even though I consider myself pretty good at swaddling with normal blankets.I was saving it for my next little one, probably years away. It was an item I wanted to keep so badly because I discovered it soon before my little one started rolling so it was in great condition, only used a month. I didn't want to forget this miracle item. My friend and her new baby were over and she was desperate for him to sleep. She was terrible at swaddling. I knew I should give it to her because I knew it would be a lifesaver for her. Her little one loves it and slept through the night for the first time that day! That made giving it away worth it. I'm ordering a new one now so I have one for the future!Note: it is pretty thick and warm. If your house gets really warm in the summer it may be too toasty even if they have nothing but a diaper on.

    Good

Great sleep sack. Only complaint would be it’s a little tight on baby’s neck when fully zipped up.

Great for babies who like to be snug

    A. · April 28, 2017

This is a great product and really good quality. It's especially great for babies who, like my little one, have a strong startle reflex and prefer to be very snug to prevent waking. The material is just stretchy enough so baby can find their hands, but not so stretchy as to become loose or allow that startle reflex to wake them. The zipper makes for super simple swaddling and is handily double ended so that a nappy change doesn't require complete removal of the swaddle and I achieved changes without waking little one. Having the convertible arm-holes is really useful when trying to train them out of being swaddled, although I'm still waiting for baby to grow out of the startle reflex. If using in winter, I would recommend using a blanket as well as this as isn't warm enough to use alone in those cold temperatures.
