First, for those who were wondering if the time auto update is working or not, it seems the DST mode is working fine. I turned mine off and around 2 am, it did an update and my clock was pushed back an hour (became 1am). However upon activation of DST from Settings and pressing the MINUS button for 3 sec (to start manual time update), it went back to 2am. Clear sign that DST mode does work for my time zone.The viewing angle is bad. It needs to be directly in front of you to have a clear, crisp view of the digits/alphabets. Side view is good at certain angle, but not all. This is especially true for sideways at a higher angle but not when viewed from top or bottom at any angle.Considering it can be run on AC power, the brightness of the digits (not backlight) could've been higher. Perhaps a sharp contrast between black alphanumeric and backlight could've been a better choice. The light blue color just doesn't match well with the black alphanumeric in daytime. Then again, if you are inclined to, you can turn it off, but that means you have to turn it back on at night manually. Auto dim mode does help a lot but it doesn't help with the added low visibility at angles. Red on black background, or black on sharp white background or similar setup could've been much more eye catching (for viewing clearly from distance).The alarm is pretty loud but not too loud that would wake you up if you are a heavy sleeper.Overall, I would say, for the price it is an amazing piece of clock. Initially I was not happy with the viewing angle, but after careful placement on wall for convenient view, it became clear that it is, for its price, a very good clock.

This unit is exactly what I was looking for. Large digits and letters make it easy to read even without my glasses. I like the fact that you can configure the display in 3 different ways. I chose the day/month/date across the top with the indoor temperature at bottom-right (it does not support outdoor temp). You can also choose to have the seconds displayed at bottom-right or a fully spelled out day at the top and the month/date at bottom-right. I easily set the time/date manually yesterday (01/04/18) but the atomic clock function activated overnight so now I know it's showing the exact time. I am using the included power adapter instead of batteries so the backlight is on all the time and was glad to discover there is a Hi/Lo/Off setting for the light by pressing the snooze button on top. I don't use the alarm but good to know it's there in case I ever need it. Highly recommended to those looking for something along these lines.

As a Caregiver for 2 of my family members who cannot remember what day it is or what time it is, THIS IS IT!!!This clock is the answer!The display is visible from across the room (bought 2, one for the kitchen and one for the bedroom).Easy to set. Or you can wait 2 hours and the clock will set itself after you connect power to it.It can run on 2 AA batteries (included), or it can be plugged on the wall.If you choose to plug on the wall, then you have the option of having it lit up all the time, High, Low, or None. This feature is not available if you choose to use batteries only.The clock helps and it can be set either in English or Spanish.It has the capability of being an alarm clock, but I do not plan on using it for that.Price thru Bolo is EXCEPTIONALLY affordable!!!Completely Happy!M88

Overall I like this but....The viewing angle is very small. We hung it above a door where we had our previous atomic clock. Unless we are right inline with it and standing a couple yards back its either hard or impossible to read. Easier to read the farther back you are.The other issue we have is while they say it can have back light for easy reading at night, that only works when its plugged in. Battery only and back lit option is not even possible. We fortunately had an electrical outlet right beside the door and pinned the cord out of the way along the edge of the frame. Works great but didn't think it would be needed and wish we could skip the plug in our case. It has hi,low and off. We find that low is plenty bright.Some things we do love are the numbers are plenty big and it allows you to set it up for different display modes. Depending on if you need the day of the week in big letters or value seeing the seconds or want the indoor temperature its able to be set to your needs. The fact that its atomic and self sets but only if you chose to have that on is nice as well. Once set to the second you could turn off the atomic self setting time and save some batteries. We leave it on as we had to use the plug for the lighting but its still nice to see you could turn it off it you needed.

I bought this for my great grandmother for Christmas because she’s constantly getting her days mixed up as well as her AM from PM, she’s in her 90’s. The text is nice and big for her to read and can be changed to Spanish for her as well. The set up was easy enough for us to set up for her I don’t think she could have done it herself but didn’t take long for me to do. The light helps to see it at night but she’s still getting her AM/PMs mixed up I wish the clock had some way to graphically show that such as the illuminating color since the actual PM text is rather small in comparison to the time. Other then that no complaints.

I bought this clock for my garage, so I knew when it was time to go before wifey came got me. I was under the impression that this clock will auto-set once the signal-seeking function has been activated. It still needs to be manually set to include your time zone. There is no active "signal" indication anywhere on the screens. So I'm not even sure if it's receiving any radio signals. Also, the DST option seems not to be working properly. Other than that, this clock is very well designed with various display modes. It has a real brushed aluminum front face. The high-contrast characters separate well from the gray LCD background thus facilitating easy viewing from just about any angle. There is also a non-backlit version available.
Best Clock Ever
Such simple set up; simply press & hold the (-) button and in roughly 5 mins...voila! This La Cross clock has everything you would want in an atomic time piece. With the added feature of an adapter, it's a one of a kind! I was so impressed with its optional display features, I bought a second one and am thinking about adding third & fourth purchase to meet all my needs. Bravo La Cross!!

Very good. Wanted a clock with no back light as used by mum in her bedroom. Came with a two pin plug, not a problem in this case as wanted to use with battery, but might be a nuisance if you want to plug in.
Big Numbers
I purchased this for my aging mother, to replace a standard clock high up on a wall. She wanted to be able to see the day of the week. With the big numbers and letters, it normally would have been easy to see, but because of the angle and reflection, it was too hard to see.The backlight would have helped, but she didn't want a power cord draping up the wall. On a table or desktop, it would have done the job nicely.
Looks good, works well
I purchased this as a replacement to another brand that failed, this device was purchased for my 91 year old mother who has cognitive issues and was wanting to know what day it is, she loves the clock and it is doing the job of reminding her of the date and day of the week, in a retirement home it’s not always obvious what day it is, this helps, I’ve owned La Crosse technology before and recommend this device.
