Perfect for what I needed it for
5.0 out of 5 stars Good quality
I have purchased several colors and am very happy with this wire. I will probably get one more spool (green) before I call it good.I have done many 'green wire' jobs before, some on production devices, some on prototypes. I am very particular about the wire I use. When soldering dozens of wires, I don't want any frustrations along the way. This wire works for me quite well. It strips cleanly and solders easily and doesn't break when pulled (usually accidentally). The only caution I would give is that the insulation does tend to shrink when heated so solder connections should be made quickly. This is not anything to do with this particular wire. We use similar wire where I work which cost 3x as much that does the same thing. At first I was concerned that the spools really weren't 1000 ft as advertised, so I used a spool calculator and determined that it was at least possible to get over 1000 ft on the spool, given the wire size and spool dimensions. I did notice that my orange spool wasn't as full as the others and didn't seem as tightly wound as the black and white spools. I am guessing there is probably 800-1000 ft on a spool. However, depending on what you plan to do with this wire, I wouldn't be too seriously concerned about how much is on the spool. I have seen the same wire go for $30-$60 a spool. Quite frankly, one spool is likely to last me a lifetime and at <$10 that seems like a good deal to me.If your looking for this kind of hookup wire, I would certainly recommend you give this a try.
5.0 out of 5 stars It shrinks a little bit but still under control
Although it shrinks a little bit while soldering, still not bad, not at all. The most important, the shell won't break off while soldering if the wire is not straight but bent over. So this PVC wire is not as perfect as true Kynar like the Jonard Tools, but good enough at much less cost.
5.0 out of 5 stars As advertised...
Comparable to much more expensive wire wrap wire and is even an inexpensive substitute for 30awg enamelled magnet wire for winding coils for crystal radio projects. (Insignificant difference in insulation thickness is more than offset by ease in stripping and soldering ends...)
5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I was looking for
Replacement for the old Radio Shack wire wrap. Spool is much larger and perfect for my needs. Shipping and service were excellent
5.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy yet small and flexible
I'm completely pleased with this wire. I've used similar products from other manufacturers and found them to be stiff and/or brittle. No so with this wire. Insulation is PVC, so not all that heat resistant. That said, with wire so fine that there isn't a lot of heat conduction along the wire. So, using this for making bodges is perfectly acceptable. This pool is pretty large. But, when I do run out, I'll definitely be looking to buy the same thing again.

has a tough time removing from the spool - not wound correctly
