5.0 out of 5 stars did what I needed, better than expected
used to protect some EV/HOV stickers and dive equipment. Surprisingly, this stuff holds up well to immersion in salt water, so my dive computer and underwater camera don't get their screens scratched.
5.0 out of 5 stars Thick enough
I took my GLC for a 5000 miles road trip. It was not that difficult to install, even though I do not have any previous experience. After the trip, it was also easy to remove the protective film.
1.0 out of 5 stars Such a cheap and bad product
You get what you pay for.PROS:I got the full amount of roll.Product is clear vinyl....thats about it.CONS:This product is THIN.Definitely much thinner than what other brands offer for PPF. I wouldnt even call this a PPF. It feels like thin paper.Hard to work.I've applied 3M color vinyl and it is so workable and forgiving that you can lift, correct, and reapply many times without any issues. I've applied Xpel ppf to various car surfaces with curves and bends and the stuff sticks perfectly.This...this is incredibly hard to work. The stickiness is crap when you need it and too sticky when you dont. Very hard to lift and reapply. No bubble release. Very thin like I mentioned so a little heat goes a long way but makes the paper too pliable.More than likely a cheap knockoff brand trying to get people to purchase the product by throwing out namebrand names on their product page.Ultimately I removed it and am processing a refund. Wouldnt buy again. Wouldnt recommend.
5.0 out of 5 stars I used for MTB frame protection from rocks and stuff
I have been using this and other products like this to protect my from from rock chips and scratch from my knee pads. That way when I am done with the bike I can remove this stuff and resell the bike. These really help keep your stuff looking new. Its not easy to work with and the looks all depend on the time you are will to put in. This bike is wrapped mostly on the top tube and chain stay area. Not a perfect job, but you would be hard pressed to find where I put it in the photo.
3.0 out of 5 stars No instructions Not 3M
Took 1 star off for no instructions and another for deceptive description in showing 3M ppf images. I assumed it wasn’t due to the title and cost so not a big deal. Quality looks decent but have not installed yet.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good product but know what you're doing
The product is pretty good. You can get better but you'll pay considerably more. I got this to act as an invisible bra since I was experiencing rocks that were chipping my bumper and front hood. I thought this would be super easy and cheap so I watched some YouTube help videos. Look no matter how good the product if you don't know what you're doing you are going to struggle. I struggled. I had a soapy solution bottle and heat gun and still I struggled. This isn't as easy as you might think. The film is thick and will protect your vehicle but it can't put itself on your vehicle by itself.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good
This paint protection film performed as expected, budget filmI would use it again, ideal for low areas of vehicles, general areas of concern.cost effective protection.I would give it a mid grade performance for appearance and application
2.0 out of 5 stars The film stretches very poorly.
The film stretches very poorly. And when heated, it immediately starts to wrinkle. It is difficult to work with.
Leveraging the 3M name?
Seems like a decent product, although I installed in a location that was 99% flat and I wasn't too concerned about final appearances. The following reasons are why I didn't give it top grade.- item says "Includes a complete installation guide! See item photos for your free guide" but there's none to be found with shipped product or the VVIVID company website. I ended up with a few air bubbles and some instructions would have been useful on how to remove these. Fortunately I found a youtube video describing the basic installation.- I'm not so sure that the squeegee is even 3M. I think they're just including the 3M tag for the search engine to match for those looking for the more expensive product. Not a bad product so far, but be honest with people!
Too thin and poor adhesion
This product is very thin and doesn't offer much paint protection at all. Adhesion isn't very good around compound bends either. May be suitable for low risk areas like the roof of a car or truck but not for leading edges or areas prone to rock chips. I would not recommend this product or purchase it again.
