5.0 out of 5 stars this is a great speaker system

! full range and plenty of volume to accommodate a keyboard and a lead guitar with two vocal mics! I'll buy a couple more soon!

4.0 out of 5 stars Surprising performance at low cost

    M. · October 25, 2021

This is a copy or knock-off a Behringer speaker (which I also own) that is lower in price, more available and nearly identical in quality and performance. And that performance is surprisingly good. It can work as an ideal home karaoke speaker, a monitor unit for an onstage performance, or a stand-alone amplified speaker for an individual performer in a small venue such as a restaurant or small club. Very small size; surprisingly big performance. Far better than many amped speakers three times its size.

5.0 out of 5 stars No problems here!

The media could not be loaded. I bought this in 2016. We only use it occasionally as a sound system for kids birthdays and youth group events at church (singing maybe a 20'x30' room) so I can't say how it would hold up to regular use. I have the audio cord that you can use to hook up your phone and stream music. I have also hooked it up to a projector for a "video game cave" birthday party, and it worked fine for that. The video is from the sound check I did today. It filled a 500 sqft space with the volume about 40% for the appropriate amount of sound for a middle school birthday party. So, no, it won't be loud enough for gigging if that's your intention. It's more on par with a practice amp. My brother gigs, and he uses at least 300 watts for that purpose. This is only a 150 watts. He went to pawn shops to find the appropriate equipment at this price range.

1.0 out of 5 stars It has never worked right

I tried using this for a couple shows as a monitor for our drummer. I could never get any volume out of it. Hooked it into a Yamaha mixer. When I switch modes from Bluetooth to SD card, the volume is screaming loud, but trying to put vocals through it as a monitor did not work at all. I don't know if I just got a faulty unit or what, but we are very disappointed. And I'm 4 days past my return window! :(

I’m so glad I purchased this. It’s a great piece of equipment to practice vocals with. Using its Blue Tooth capability leaves me the opportunity to vocalize to tracks stored in my I-Phone. If one needs a portable outdoor PA system, it’s great for that as well. It does have some weight to it, but it contributes to its sturdiness. The only drawback is when the unit is first turned on, a voice comes through the speaker at the loudest volume, (no matter how low the all the volume controls are set) telling me the Blue Tooth is enabled. I don’t need or want to hear this at all, let alone at the loudest possible volume. With that said, I still give it 5 stars. It’s a good unit at a good price.

I used to have the 150 watt Behringer. I bought this because it was $50 cheaper. Big mistake. Needed it very close when using it as a personal monitor. Not very clean on full volume. I play keys so it may have been too dynamic sound wise. Speaker even blew. Just bought the 150 Behringer I used to have. Spend the extra money for quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT DEVICE FOR TUE THE PRICE!!

The media could not be loaded. Really surprised at the quality and build of this little PA/personal monitor! Sound quality is surprisingly good, the build seems very sturdy and the little thing is loud! This will be a perfect monitor for on stage applications. I always had trouble hearing floor monitors and with this monitor being close, will help immensely. Also, there is no need to buy any sort of adapter for a mic stand...just place the end of boom stand up inside the whole in the bottom of the unit. You can't beat the price of this unit!

4.0 out of 5 stars It is ok if you are not too pick about sound quality

This is more a personal PA than a monitor. I like passive monitor better for live stage. This active one is very portable because of the size. The sound is serviceable but not really stereo and crystal clear (no matter how I adjust the equalizer). The distortion when the volume turns up high is unavoidable because of the size. The manual seemed to be written by someone who's not a native English user. Also, it doesn't really provide any instruction on how to connect this unit to mixers. The connector to mic stand included is a nice touch but why can't the manufacturer include the adapter (5/8-3/8) to connect to the microphone stand? It won't cost much but would be more thoughtful. Also, the base of a vertical mic stand is not wide therefore when this speaker is mounted, it tends to be wobbly. A tripod type of speaker stand is a much better choice but I don't know how to connect this PA to a typical speaker stand sold on Bolo. The push down/push up buttons are very flimsy. I can pull the little rectangles off without effort. I wonder if they would fall off during transport. The power cord is also short. In most situations an extension is a must if the socket is not right next to where you want this unit to be placed.I wish that there will be a headphone jack to plug in an earphone monitor. The line out doesn't seem to work to connect my Rolls personal monitor to this unit.If you need a light weight portable speaker and not too concern about sound quality, this is a good cost effective choice.

pair it with a high gain/sensitivity microphone

    R.L.G. · December 30, 2022

I am very happy that I purchased the LyxPro SPA-5.5.Some reviews said that they couldn't get enough volume out of it but the review that has a video with a demo of it convinced me that it should have plenty of volume output. So when I set it up and plugged in my AKG D5 microphone I discovered that it does indeed have plenty of volume with my microphone, more than enough when microphone input volume and the main input volume are set on the high side of their dials. It fills a good size livingroom with plenty of clear, detailed punchy sound, with echo for karaoke. We tried a cheap/inferior microphone that my friend had brought and to get enough volume out of it we had to crank the mic input level to near max. So the quality of your microphone and it's sensitivity or gain is what determines whether your experience with the LyxPro is excellent or not. For those who say they cannot get it to go very loud or not loud enough I suggest getting a better microphone with plenty of sensitivity/gain. Then you will be impressed with what this speaker/amp can do. I love mine and my friends are wowed by it.

    Great value for the price

Great value for the price. Sound quality is not perfect, but plenty of volume for the part timer. Bluetooth works seemlessly.

    A.C. · September 16, 2021

I had to return it the same day September 2 and still waiting for my refund...Very bad quality... very dissapointed... cheap and very low sound and one button was squeaky and there was a voice integrated in it..

    NOT FOR GIGGING

    M.A. · February 25, 2021

Very disappointing! This thing has all the buttons, tone dials and cable plug ins, you need: the only problem is THEY STINK! VERY LITTLE VOLUME, and the angle of the damn thing is ridiculous! I need sound up to my ears, not at my damn ankles!!! It comes with a hole to mount it on a pole, but they don't say which and it has no adapter for mounting. Too bad, because it's a handy size.... if it was louder, I'd keep it but it's NOWHERE NEAR THE claimed volume! Pass if you gig and not wireless or rechargeable battery!
