About this item:
Viking cast iron is a natural addition to the Viking kitchen, maximizing the performance of Viking stoves, by providing the natural heat retention required for roasting, braising, searing and more. Designed for efficiency, most Cooking can be done on low to Medium heat. Viking cast iron will distribute and retain the heat evenly, allowing the pan to reach and maintain ideal cooking temperatures with lower energy requirements. Conversely, cast iron holds cold temperatures equally well for food storage and serving or preparing cold recipes. Viking pre-seasoned natural cast iron reversible grill/griddle features raised grill ridges on one side and a smooth griddle on the other. The reversible grill/griddle easily fits over two burners for cooking big batches. In addition to the pre-seasoned grill/griddle, The Viking cast iron collection includes enamel coated Dutch ovens, a braiser, a grill pan and fry pans. Viking cast iron is safe for use on the stove, The grill, and in the oven, while being elegant enough to take directly to the table for serving. please note: There will be slight difference between the image and the original product due to lighting. Is not compatible with induction stove tops due to raised grill surface.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent quality
Very well made, good quality coating on the pan , still easily browns what your frying but with easier clean up than a traditional cast iron pan. Its not stick resistant but it’s not supposed to be, But does clean up easy with a scrub sponge
5.0 out of 5 stars Grilling for our large family
Although the surface is a little rough, these Viking brand grills will serve well for our extra large family needs. We are using them for over the burner meat grilling now and plan to use them outdoors over coals next summer. Love cast iron grilling and these are great.
5.0 out of 5 stars INCREDIBLE QUALITY AT THIS PRICE POINT!
Viking Culinary Enamel Cast Iron Round Fry Pan with Helper Handle, 12 Inch This is an OUTSTANDING skillet. First, you know the quality is there just by the way it's boxed from the factory. I looked at lesser expensive and I looked at more expensive skillets. However, basically I was looking for an excellent quality ENAMELLED cast iron skillet. I simply followed the cleaning instructions and started using it on the BBQ grill. I'm now starting to looking at Viking's Dutch Oven.
4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for Fried Eggs!!
As a child cast iron pans were the norm in our household and as an adult I switched over to stainless steel because they clean easier. Many years ago I briefly tried nonstick (Teflon) until we heard it was toxic and recently I tried the latest nonstick pans that claim to be “safe” which I later discovered isn’t entirely true...time will tell. Which brings me to this, my current pan. It is by far my favorite egg pan, cooking evenly and with the ceramic coating and an equal mix of good oil and butter it is just as nonstick as the so called “safe pans”. On my way to making a set of these. You won’t be disappointed.Cleanup is just as easy as nonstick when your working with a hot pan, some butter and good oil.Update 6/10/23: This is a beautiful well made pan but it’s no where’s as nonstick as it was when the above review was written. It’s necessary to soak because most foods stick to it. The finish has not changed to the eye, nothing appears to be coming off but as I said food sticks to it. It’s much healthier than the conventional “nonstick pans” with coatings made of toxins that all eventually come off into our food. For this reason I continue to use it often and the extra elbow grease is a easy trade off to carcinogens. I would purchase again but feel necessary to change my review from 5* to 4*.
2.0 out of 5 stars Griddle Too Rough.
Griddle side is too rough for eggs, impossible to cook them on. OK for pancakes maybe but anything fragile, forget it. I thought it would be more like their non-stick pans that I love, but it is not. Will try All Clad or Cuisinart I guess.
1.0 out of 5 stars Rusted after first use. Entire surface awful
This was supposed to come pre-seasoned. I used it once, grilled chicken breasts, took me three washings to get it clean. After one use the black coating disappeared. I thought maybe when I washed it, it would return to normal. It didn’t. I only used regular dish soap and a sponge. It has exposed steel and it rusted. I saved for two months to get this. I will Re season in hopes of fixing it but I am very disappointed. I thought Viking made quality products.
5.0 out of 5 stars Love at first use!
Love at first use! It arrived yesterday and we felt like pancakes so heated it, oiled it a bit and voila... 2 delicious perfectly cooked pancakes. I was nervous there’d be sticking. It was minimal and super easy to clean. We also have a Lodge griddle and use them both on a 36” Viking gas stove.. love both griddles but slightly prefer the Viking since it was truly pre-seasoned out the box. Also the Lodge had a sticky instruction label on the smooth side that was tough to peel off.
3.0 out of 5 stars Not Suitable for Induction
Good quality product, but doesn't work on our Bosch induction cooktop because it won't sit flat on the surface. The double-sided design is a nice feature, but it means there is a lip on both side so there is no flat side for the cooking surface to make contact with our induction top. Maybe it will work with some other kind of induction unit, but it's an expensive experiment to find out.
Not pre seasoned
After first washing, it showed rust spots.
Excellent high quality
Excellent high quality. Highly recommended. Real chef quality. Definitely worth the price
Don’t like it
This is a terrible pan to work with. After our first use, it looked as though the enamels had either discoloured or residue had seeped below the enamel coating. I wished I’d save the $127 and put this money towards a Dutch oven or similar instead.
