5.0 out of 5 stars Note: Mechanical timers wear out. But, please read my review!?
I have had two sets of these timers. It's no brainer to set these timers up, it's extremely Elementary. They go bad Within 8 months to a year... I had one take a nosedive on me about 11 months after I programmed it for my grow house. Since they're mechanical they will wear out due to resistance. The outside dial rotates around the center little red indicator. In time the outside dial gets harder to turn around the inside indicator and it will lock completely up. I can't say that a digital is better than a mechanical timer. I chose mechanical because I'm old school. I can touch it, feel it, and know NOW when to replace it. With a digital timer we can't do that. I learned my lesson by not paying attention to how easy that outside dial rotates around the inside. I set it to come on at 6:00 a.m. and go off at 6:00 p.m now. One morning I woke up and my light did not come on, so I looked at my timer and realized that I couldn't even turn the dial. It was not that crucial at the time but if it was a month later I would have ruined all my plants. I'm not bashing this timer! All things mechanical will wear. I have a spare one ready to go timed the same as the one that I have going right now. With these timers, I suggest that you use preventive maintenance. Every once in awhile unplug it and rotate that dial and make sure that it's rotating very easily and that it's not giving you any resistance. Note: when you turn it off and you rotated to see if it's still easy to rotate around the inside ring. You will have to reprogram it. Very easy. When you do check it. If it is getting harder to rotate then when it came out of the box, it is time for you to throw that one away and use the new one that you have already programmed and ready to go. These timers are very reliable straight out of the box and for months on in. They're very inexpensive and they work very well. So, I would highly recommend getting them. Safety in numbers. 2 is what you should have on hand. If one goes bad and you're down to the one, order two more. I mean it's like once a year that you'll be ordering these depending on how you use them. I use mine everyday. At first I had it programmed to 18 hours on, 6 hours off. Then I had to go to 12 hours on, 12 hours off. I did notice that it was harder for me to rotate the outside ring but did not pay too much attention to it until it locked up. I learned my lesson! Just want to pass that lesson on to you. The plants I grow are worth thousands of dollars and if I can rely on these, I think you could too. Just remember to do some preventive maintenance! Please check to see how easy it is to rotate. Good luck, and I hope this helped?
5.0 out of 5 stars Works great!
Very easy to program and works great. Great price also.
4.0 out of 5 stars They work,...but not perfect.
A couple things:Pro:- They work.- They do as designed and will allow you to plug in something electrical to turn on an off at approximate desired times.- They are reasonably priced.Con:- Because the dial is so small, or not digital, the time you set is approximate.- When using multiple like I do to turn all my Christmas lights on at one time, none of them turn on at exactly the same time. No matter how much you try, when one turns on an running from room to room to turn all the others to turn on at the same time, it is just not a perfect mechanism. Would be much better if they were able to link via bluetooth and turn all of them on a the same time, but then again, that is why you pay less for these.- It would be nice if there was a cover/face plate over the top of the dial. I have grandchildren, age 3, twin boys, and they want to get into everything. They see the dials and they push and pull the dial levers and I have to reset the dial every time they have been in my home. Thus referring back to the above issue, with trying to get all of them set at the same time. A cover or face plate might not be a perfect solution, but it might help some.Overall, it is a good product and does work, but maybe not perfect for my needs. If you don't have little ones running around the house that could change the levers, or if you are not needing multiple ones to sync up at exactly the same time, these might be perfect for you and do work.

Used the timers in 2 different rooms & they work perfectly. Easy to set good quality item.
5.0 out of 5 stars Mechanical and Programmable
To me, a mechanical lamp timer is far preferable to a digital/electronic one. Not only are these easy to set to the current time (you just turn the dial to the time) they are also easy to program for when you want them to turn the lights on and off. Because each little segment of time has its own switch, these are infinitely programmable such that one could turn the lamps off and on 12 times a day, if that's something that's of interest to you. That's NOT of interest to me, but I AM interested in having the lights turn on in the morning, about the time I get up and go off again when I'm going to work. I also want the light(s) to come on in the evening, about the time it gets dark, and to stay on until about the time I go to bed at night. Being able to program several start/stop times into these timers is a huge advantage. I love them!
5.0 out of 5 stars Work great!
I had an old set of outlet timers that were super noisy, but I assumed that’s just the way they all worked. Nope! Finally ordered a new set and they are completely quiet. No sound at all. They work perfectly.
3.0 out of 5 stars Only 1 worked in Pack of 2
Pros: the working/functional unit worked properly and just like other mechanical plug-in timers I’ve used in the past. Good quality overall nice quality finishes. Two thumbs up.Cons: I purposely bought a package with two identical units because why? I needed two of them unfortunately, the second one did not work at all. It looked exactly like the other one in the package, but no matter where I tried it or fixture I tried it with it did not work. Two thumbs down. I did not have time to return the package nor did I have time to wait for another package to be delivered if I purchased another one due to an upcoming date. Ended up with only one unit in use—not ideal, but sometimes gotta roll w stuff as it comes.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great timer
Easy to use. Great for indoor lamps.
Does the job simply
This package of two mechanical timers is very good value compared to timers I have purchased before. The timer is basic, simple and reliable. However, don't rely on it as an accurate time keeper as the on/off switches are in 30 minute increments so you have to guess as close as you can when setting it up. I bought them for my exterior Christmas lights (the switch is located on an interior wall outlet) and it works great. I specifically did not want a digital timer (had one before and ditched it) because those types had to be plugged in or have expensive button batteries to program (if you could even figure it out). I will use the second one for interior lights when we are away.
Quite happy!
I bought these for the lights in my bearded dragon’s tank and they work great!Easy to set up and they are a compact size - not bulky. The only “negative”: depending on where or what you use the timers for (or if you have crazy good hearing like myself) you may hear the ticking/buzzing of the timer mechanism. My kitten notices it every once in a while as well and has to investigate the noise. But it is very faint.
Económico y fácil de usar.
Lo uso para una cama calefactora de mi mascota. Lo programé a las 6am y apagarse a las 6pm todos los días
Wall Timer
Works like a Top. Thanks
