The charcoal in them stops the smell. They are very absorbent. They are also a great size and works great. I use them for my 2 dogs (7 & 20 pounds.). I highly recommend these.

I can not believe that these are as good as they are. I’m house training 2 puppies and they have been wonderful. Absorbs really quick and absolutely no odor of pet urine. these pads don’t have that white filling that goes everywhere and lots of lint like the blue ones. Never will use those blue pads again.

Let me tell you that these pads do work well keeping the dog's urine in the pad. But, I noticed that they are not as absorbent as I had hoped.Afterwards, I noticed that some of the urine passed through the pad and I had to clean where the pad was. A little more absorbent or a better barrier would be good.

I have been using these for 5 years almost since I brought home my chihuahua. I swapped to a re-washable pad for a few months in an effort to save a little money but it started to smell up my washer no matter how much I sprayed it or added detergent. I’m back to using these and am convinced these are the way to go. They’re easily disposable, absorb super well and never leave a noticeable odor! Also a plus is the fact that they’re black so you don’t see potty stains like you would on white pads

Something has happened to quality of pads ! We have been using this brands for 3 years and they have gotten so thin that the pee will not soak up ! My dog is a morkie and I really like this brand because they were thick and soaked up urine no tracking urine but for the past 6 months they are terrible quailty

I’ve had one or more chihuahua for the past 20 years, shift work necessitates having pads as back-up when I’m out of the house for extended periods at work. I’ve used many different pads. What I liked about the pads is that they absorb well, good odor control, good value, and they’re black/gray which looks nice compared to the usual white/blue type when fresh and used (no ugly yellow spots). There’s a major design flaw in that two of the sides are without a border so when my dog pees near the edge, some urine inevitably runs off onto the tile/grout. For this reason, I’m going back to the white/blue pads.
