5.0 out of 5 stars Good value!
I really like these speakers. The reason I chose these was for several reasons:1. Affordability - These were under $100 and had plenty of good reviews.2. Versatile - I bought these for my Audio Technica 120 turntable. I like that they have the input holes vs other speakers that only have cables going out. This eliminated the need for an adapter between the speakers and the turntable. I may buy some for my computer in the future.3. Looks - These look very sleek and have a faux wood look. Unfortunately, the black doesn't fit my aesthetic, so I'm going to end up covering these with a fun patterned or solid colored vinyl. At first, it seemed complicated to set these up because of the red and black cables, but all you do is stick them in their corresponding holes. Very simple to understand. It also comes with 2 sets of cables for the inputs. The sound quality is pretty decent for me. You can adjust the bass with the knob next to the volume knob. I wouldn't say these are the clearest sounding speakers but for the price, they are definitely unbeatable.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great speakers
Incredibly simple setup. Plug in the aux to whatever you’re gonna use these with and then plug in the rca. These don’t support Bluetooth, but honestly no one really needs it. The sound quality is amazing for the price and the bass is crispy. The cord is just long enough and the controls are easy to use even if they aren’t visible. As you can see, they look great on my desk, fit perfectly, and likely will in many other circumstances. All in all, if you’re gonna get some speakers for music, this is the way to go.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic speakers.
I still use these speakers every day, and they're amazing. I needed some good speakers for my computer (use them as my desktop audio source), and they absolutely do not disappoint. They're very loud, have good, clean bass, and the audio color is nice. Keep in mind that despite how great these speakers are, they're still not pro-audio or audiophile quality; however, they're night and day better than just about any other desktop speakers I've ever used (Logitech, Altec Lansing, Creative, Klipsch, etc.). If you're on the fence, just buy them.
4.0 out of 5 stars Buy Something Like This Over Your Typical "PC Speaker"
This is a really solid purchase for those on a budget, but if you can afford to go up to the $100 or $150 range I'd recommend one of edifier's more expensive options. I'm not an audiophile by any means but do enjoy audio equipment so take all of this with a grain of saltPros:- Clear, powerful sound that does not distort if you keep it below ~75% volume- Awesome for movies and shows, solid for gaming - wide enough range to hear sounds you normally wouldn't on low quality speakers- Beautiful looking especially with the drivers exposed- REAL tweeter @logitech, these kick the crap out of any budget speakers made by PC peripheral brands- easy to connect with wall power, RCA to 3.5mm, and wires between the two speakers - all cables are long enough for use on a long desk- Good all in one solution for those looking to spend less than $100 and don't want to buy a separate amp- Sound even nicer with a DACCons:- pretty disgusting distortion at its loudest volumes - I would have rather had a speaker that couldn't reach such volumes than one that could but sounds awful when it does. Not a massive con though because it gets plenty loud enough before it distorts- Volume control is on the back which makes on the fly adjustment particularly annoying- Mids can feel somewhat recessed and overtaken by the lower frequencies- Not as balanced as I would've liked but they're inexpensive so it's hard to complain- very low hissing sound when nothing is playing but you won't notice unless your ear is a few inches from the driverIn the end they certainly get the job done and are a nice entry level speaker, but if you can spend more it's certainly worth it to get something of higher quality. I've had them for several months though and don't feel the need to replace which is a good sign for an itchy tech buyer like myself
5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic quality at decent prices
Speakers that don't take up too much room on your desk that sound great and are simple to set up. Absolutely love these.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for me
For the price way better than expected wayyyyy better than regular desk speakers loud lots of little bass just need it for desk I have sound bar and sub for 55” tv and Sony surround sound for projector setup so I just need for desk while working again perfect for me and my needs NO BLUETOOTH but that’s ok
5.0 out of 5 stars Great sound - and value in this price range
Qulaity build and great sound for intended use (L/R desktop speakers connected to a PC).These will never rock the house, but my primary use is for background music while I'm at my desk - and for that - they are kind of overkill but they were heavily discounted on Prime Day so I took a chance.Only downside (not a complaint) is the size. They're about 9" tall x 6.5" deep x 5.5" wide - but I've tried smaller (different brands) and they all sounded like crap. Size is the sacrifice for the quality of the sound.Wouldn't hesitate to buy again - and might try other Edifier products - when my Klipsch give out ;-)
3.0 out of 5 stars Similar price, but inferior quality to 3.5" M-Audio monitors
These aren't terrible speakers, but they really shouldn't call themselves studio monitors. They do not give a flat response.I've found that the flattest response I can get is with the bass knob turned to about 25%. Even then, these speakers feel a bit muddy. The similarly prices M-Audio monitors have a much clearer sound and actually have a little bass port as at the back (these Edifier speakers do not).Still, I'll be keeping these because, in my area at least, doing returns and actually receiving a full refund, is a total toss-up, depending on if the mail carriers want to carelessly throw around your package or not.
Exactly what I was looking for
After trying various speakers I found these. My requirement was a 2.0 set for my pc (music/movies/gaming). These have enough base to be able to do without a subwoofer. For the price they are a steal. I used to have a pair that cost 5 times more. These actually have more thump. Are they audiophile level? Don't think so, but neither am I 😉. Strongly recommend for a good bang for buck of pc speakers.
