It's formulated with fully synthetic base oils plus advanced additives to protect against wear, deposits, and oil breakdown. It also provides better low-temperature flow and enhanced fuel economy performance of 1.5% (compared to 15W-40 oils). Shell Rotella T6 5W-40 is suitable for new and older diesel-powered vehicles from Class 8 tractor/trailers to heavy-duty diesel pickups, delivery, utility, school bus fleets, and motorcycles. If you have an VW/Audi 1.8t 20v engine and have a catless exhaust this oil is AMAZING! My car idles a lot and heat is the number one enemy. Oil shearing is bad and my engine idles a lot. This oil is amazing and my engine loves it. Even in cold weather that dreaded cam chain tensioner rattle on a cold start is less horrible

This product is rated for high pressure in transmissions and clutches running in the engine oil also. It is rated JASO MA which is what is called for in a lot of Japanese bikes and cheaper than the dealer supplied oils that have the same rating.
