I absolutely love the fit and finish as well as the durability and features. This was my first G-Shock but it won't be my last. I picked this up during a flash deal for $29.99. I've never seen it at that price again. I feel very fortunate because it's a great looking watch with good, solid features. Love the old school Electro Luminescence, it really lights up that dial. If you get one, you won't regret it!

Extremely comfortable, surprisingly fashionable watch for work and sport. The picture shows EL backlight, unit arrived is LED. I’m fine this as it is very bright and readable, and supposedly way less power draw. But picture should be updated. Gshocks are rumored to be amongst the most durable watches available. A bit annoying to generally need a key or pen to push the adjust button. I later sharpie blacked some text and swapped the strap. There is a solar version, but that mostly irrelevant as the battery goes 5 years and costs about a buck.

After all these years I finally have one. When I first seen the hockey puck commercial back in the mid 80's I wanted this watch. My parents were always too cheap. Lol. Glad I got one before I turn 50. Well worth the price. Classic all time best watch.

Casio DW5600 is simple durable digital watches. I was afraid of its size, but this model is also for narrower hand. It is light, so it is not traveling on your hand.

Great standard G-Shock. Basic function watch but has all the essential features I care for.Easy to adjust and read (I am over 50 - the reverse LCD option was very hard to read in low light).I like the retro design which has been on their catalogue since the 80's. I took photos with aftermarket steel bull bars on the watch next to my DW9052-1V for size comparison.I like the backlight on the watch.I would 100% recommend a G-Shock square in your collection, especially as an everyday wear watch and it is at a pretty reasonable price point for G-Shock.BTW I placed black bullbars on the watch and they look better than I thought compared with the steel one!

I like the slick design, it’s super clean and the belt is longer than I thought. I have a big wrist and I was worried it wouldn’t fit me but it did and it’s very adjustable, definitely worth the price
4.0 out of 5 stars Great watch, wish it didn't have EL backlight
The 5600E truly is a great watch! It has mineral crystal glass which is good that it can withstand some scratching, kind of more durable than sapphire. That being said, it was $30 when I purchased it on sale, however, it is normally $50. Still that cost is great for what you get. Which is why I will stay away from the 5600UE for now since it costs twice as much but basically the same watch as this one. But, the backlight is better on the 5600UE than on the 5600E.Now, the EL backlights while they are cool to look at, they don't last nearly as long as LED lights. They last about 1/10th of the LED light as they will dim a lot quicker making it harder to read over the years. If you barely use the backlight it may last you a lot longer. Another thing about the EL backlights is they take 100 ~ 200 volts to light them up, so they have had to install a 1:100 step up transformer in the watch to make it light up. This can be murderous on batteries if you are one that uses the backlight a lot. Over the years they have gotten better at the backlights by adding in a light spreader and maybe even using the white LEDs instead of the orange ones making them brighter. The 5610U has this LED backlight with a spreader and now the same as the 5600UE.This 5600E does have an auto-light feature that you can enable that will make the backlight flash when either your alarm or timer go off making it easier to tell if you are in a hard to hear area. Other than what I have mentioned above about the EL backlight, I think this watch is amazing for what you get!

The Casio dw5600e is a classic from 1996,that's still going strong! The toughest watch in the world for £50? This is amazing in the present day world of hyper inflation!The watch came from Bolo USA but was delivered in a little over a week! No extras were charged, no delivery costs so £50 was the price!Rest assured this is probably the best value for money Casio you can buy ? It will last years of hard use ! If you are unfortunately run over by a truck at least your watch should be OK!This watch is a bargain!
