The Kidde Smoke Detector, 10-Year Battery, Photoelectric Sensor Smoke Alarm, model p3010b, uses photoelectric sensor technology to detect visible fire particles (associated with smoldering fires). When smoke or fire is detected, an 85-decibel alarm will sound. The Kidde Smoke Detector is powered by a 10-year lithium battery, for coverage during a power failure, while eliminating the need for battery changes. The Kidde smoke alarm automatically activates when it is attached to the mounting bracket. A test-hush button allows you to test the battery operations as well as silence nuisance alarms that may occur from cooking or shower steam. The Kidde Smoke Detector will chirp when it's time to replace the battery. Install a smoke detector & carbon monoxide detector on every level of your home and near bedrooms to help keep your family safe from fire & poisonous gas. UL Certified with a 10-year limited manufacturer's warranty. Meets requirements of UL 217, NFPA72 (chapter 11 2002 edition), NFPA101 (One and two-family dwellings), and Federal Housing Authority (FHA).

This product was super easy to install and had all of the necessary items to operate! The batteries were already included and I love that they last 10 years! do you beware there is a loud beep at the beginning, But it’s just to ensure that it is working properly!

Installed a bunch of these in my apartment building 6 years ago. The batteries are starting to fail- they do not last 10 years as advertised. they are also on the expensive side.However, I am buying more because they do work, and it is much easier to replace the existing units than buy a different brand.

I installed this just 2 months ago and it suddenly started sounding its alarm without any cause. No smoke at all. Just randomly went off. I had to permanently disable it to stop the alarm. Now it's in the trash. I have a 2nd one, but I'm hesitant to install it. These things aren't cheap to be just thrown away like this.

Receive 2 days early, easy to install and works great. Now to wait and see it the thermostat was my problem. if not needed a new one anyway. the old one was at least 15 5o 20 years old. Time will tell but was a great buy.
