Fair trade, ethically sourcedMavuno Harvest was started by a Peace Corps volunteer who saw that African farmers were unable to sell their full harvests due to limited access to markets. We know our farmers by nameFounder Phil Hughes with Muwonge Herbert in Uganda. With the money earned from last years harvest, Herbert bought more land where he planted more papaya trees, effectively doubling his income. 5.0 out of 5 stars Mavuno Harvest Dried Banana Chips: A Banana Lover's Dream
Mavuno Harvest Dried Banana Chips: A Banana Lover's DreamIf you're a fan of bananas, you absolutely need to try Mavuno Harvest Dried Banana Chips. These are hands-down the best banana snacks I've ever tasted. As someone who typically isn't a huge fan of bananas, I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious these soft chips are. They're sweet, chewy, and have a wonderful natural banana flavor.I could easily finish an entire bag in one sitting. They're the perfect on-the-go snack that's both healthy and satisfying. I highly recommend giving them a try - they're definitely worth every penny!
5.0 out of 5 stars Good - low acid - low calorie - unsweetened snack
I was looking for a low acid snack, papayas are low in acid. There are NO added sugars, so it is not nearly as tasty and tender as dried sweetened papayas. I cut it up into 1/2" pieces for snacking. Though it's not as tasty and tender as the sweetened version, I am giving it 5 starts because it is well packaged, its a low calorie, low acid snack. Because it's not a sugary snack, you are less likely to overeat them. There are a lot of dried papayas in 40 grams which only have 103 calories.
1.0 out of 5 stars Good Treat Bad Packaging.
My wife and I love Jack Fruit. We buy a good amount because of the taste and texture, however, when we received the product, we had many orders that were unsatisfactory leaving us upset. We had one order where they left the bag, no package or protection, outside of the front door in the blazing sun; we were not going to eat that. We had bought 4 and out of the 4 items 2 were opened with a couple of Jack Fruit pieces inside the package the 4 items came in, so we had to call for that issue. Ordered again, and there were holes and other openings that led to us throwing out the product and called again. We were not eating opened product food, and I sure hope no one else does. So, when we order the product, my wife and I squeeze the bag to make sure there is no open seal or air seeping out. I don't know who does what with the packaging and stuff, but you guys are losing money and probably a couple of customers, because it's getting annoying at this point to order a product and be delivered opened, out in the sun without protection, or some type of air seeping out. Funny as it sounds, but someone could’ve poked a needle inside and squirted some fluids inside. Please do a better job by delivering the product right, thanks.
4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good
The mangos were awesome. But the jackfruit tastes like flavored cardboard.
5.0 out of 5 stars Love it
Great product. Soft and chewy. No added BS ingredients, will buy again and again
3.0 out of 5 stars Great product, but change in quality
I have been purchasing the dried mango for approximately 1 year and really like it. It has no sugar, is a low calorie/low fat option and it tastes really good. Unfortunately, something is going on with the quality very recently, and I am hoping that it is only a temporary problem. The last 2 boxes that I purchased (I buy boxes of the smaller bags) have not been good. The mango is paper thin and thready/ fibrous. It has barely any taste (or a bitter taste) and some pieces actually look rotten (another purchaser noted the same thing) and/or old. If I could return them I would. I just ordered again and am hoping that these are better. If not, I will need to find another option.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great taste
I bought this for my parrot and he loves it so much I tried it and fell in love. A great snack. Great on salads or in smoothies too. Great find!
2.0 out of 5 stars Weird pineapple. Looks nothing like in the picture.
The pineapples seems to be a type of pineapple the size of 3 inch diameter or less. The way they take the core out of the pineapple is through a machine and so alot of the hard fiber of the core is still around the good part of the pineapple. Basically its not bad in taste but the texture of the core hurts the mouth. I would never buy this product again personally.
