All the stuff I read in many websites have positive things to say about Krill Oil.Some of those I read in more than one place and in some studies1. Human body seems to be able to absorb omega-3 from Krill Oil better than Fish Oil2. No fishy burps3. Krill Oil is more recent and Very costly4. Low amounts of EPA and DHA compared with fish oil5. Krill Oil may be better at reducing LDL cholesterol than fish oil6. It boosts HDL cholesterol better than fish oil7. No risk of mercury that may come from fish oil8. Reduces inflammation9. Helps with arthritis10. I like the softgel form of this product11. Now Foods krill oil has much better price than other krill oil products12. May need to take 2 - 3 softgels per day (for those with serious cholesterol and heart issues). For others, one softgel may be enough.Don't forget. For heart health, EPA is more important than DHA.I am personally trying both fish oil AND krill oil together.Instead of taking fish oil supplement two times a day, I take on fish oil supplement and one krill oil supplement to balance the cost, to diversify the source of omega-3s and to be on safe side considering that the research in studies is relatively newI will update after 3 months of usage and blood testing on how my approach helped.Cheers.

I was secretly hoping that krill oil would turn me pink like a flamingo. Sadly this hasn't happened but there's no weird taste and they seem to be a great addition to my supplement stack. I'm interested to see if they have a positive effect on my bloodwork.

Pros:* This product is a good value for the money (you get a lot of krill oil for your $$s.)* Some krill oil has a strong fishy smell. This product has no smell at all. (I keep all fish oils and krill oils refrigerated, so I don't know how it would hold up if you stored it in a warm cupboard.)* The capsules are enterically coated, which means that they should dissolve in the lower intestine rather than the stomach. This makes them less likely to cause a "fish oil/krill oil burp."Cons:* I mentioned the enteric coating above as a "plus," but it may also be a negative. Some enteric coatings contain plastic resin (to keep the capsule from dissolving too soon). I couldn't tell from the label if this one was plasticized or not. If it is, that's a strike against it. (But again, it may be a type of coating that does not use plastic, in which case it's fine.)* This isn't an issue for me, but for those who prefer krill oil because of the small, easy-to-swallow capsules, you should buy this knowing that the capsules are large. (I bought the 1000 mg size.) People who have difficulty with big capsules may prefer a lower-dose product.

Even tho these are enormous and on the verge of being freakishly scary, we love them! They aren't hard to swallow, just don't try to take them with more than just this one pill at a time. I don't feel it is any different than taking 2 of my other fairly big vitamins at a time. Okay, so what is so great about them? I had seriously bad joint pain in one of my knees. It was so bad I haven't been able to get on my knees or squat down for over 3 years now. I would get an extremely sharp pain that was unbearable! In January I started taking 500 mg of a different brand. In March I bumped it up to 1,000 of that same brand. I wasn't feeling much relief so I started doing more research. In June, for reasons mentioned regarding Astaxanthin, I ordered this product. (If you compare different Krill Oil products you will see what I mean.) Astaxanthin really did make a difference! My pain is almost completely gone! Call it a coincidence, could be, but I highly doubt it since this is the only change I have made. I will keep taking this brand because I can literally "feel" the difference! Oh, and absolutely NO fish taste or burps with this product either!

I love NOW supplements and find the company to be highly reputable and their products to be high quality and reasonably priced. These are the highest quality Krill oil supplements from NKO that I can find. Mercola (which I've bought in the past) used to be better quality. These NOW NKO Krill have higher Omegas and astaxanthin (antioxidant with all kinds of health benefits). Also, I noticed that the NOW doesn't smell fishy like the bottle of Mercola does. I'll stick with NOW Krill from now on. The NOW have an enteric coating and krill doesn't spoil like other fish oils tend to due to the high antioxidant levels, from what I've read.Mercola used to manufacture high quality krill oil, but they've since changed suppliers and the quality is worse than what it was.
