5.0 out of 5 stars Very good food grade stainless steel container
A pretty good stainless steel container made from South Korea. I mainly use it to store cooked food right after cooking, it keeps your leftover or cooked meal fresh longer (up to a week around 34 degrees actually with fresh cooked food). You can store hot soup, chilli, stir fry, grill chicken, grill steak, fry chicken, beef stew, rice... straight off the grill or stove top safely in this steel container. The container will get hot quick so you can use your own judgment on how to safely handle the container during the transfer of the cooked food into the container. One good thing is that after transferring the cooked food into the container, you can lock on the lid to safely transfer the food to where you want to place it since it has a little handle on the top of lid that swivels up.The bad part is that if you leave the lid locked on to the container when the food is hot and then the food cools down, there's a vacuum suction with the silicone seal on the lid that is almost impossible to get the lid off. You can't lock the lid on to the container when the food is hot. The good thing is that you can use the lid as a cover until the food cools down before locking up the lid. And just by placing the lid on top of the container, the silicone seal creates a good enough seal around the container to keep the seasoning aroma of the cooked food from overwhelming your refrigerator (literally there is no food smell).I'm busy working throughout the work week so when I cook, I try to cook enough food to get me through most of the work week and lunch that I can pack for work. For some, they might use it to store homemade cooked food for their busy family. This will be my 3rd stainless steel container that I have ordered as I have found another use for storing pre-cut fresh vegetables like cabbage and some leafy greens that I can cut up and store in the container and slowly use it for stir fry when I cook breakfast or dinner.
5.0 out of 5 stars Best container I have!
This thing is sturdy and completely hermetic. Ideal if you are looking to get rid of all plastics in your food. I use to store hot food directly to the fridge without problems
5.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy with good latches
I got this container to replace a plastic one that I use to carry lunches in my backpack while hiking. The 5 liter holds enough food for 2 people’s lunch. I’m trying to replace plastic containers with glass and stainless steel for health and environmental reasons. Though expensive, I’m sure I’ll get many good years of use from this sturdy container, making it worth the price.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent container
Well built stainless container with a good thick seal that prevents leaks of liquid or gas. Excellent for Kimchi. The proper thickness of stainless so that is is strong but not overly heavy. I think you will like this for food storage.
5.0 out of 5 stars Multipurpose
I wanted a sturdy, food-safe stainless steel box I could use for dry goods storage and freezer storage without worrying about breakage because I move a lot for my job and prefer items I can pack easily. This holds several 1-quart Mylar bags of heat-sealed dry goods if you don't overfill them. (I usually trim them down to keep the servings smaller.) Depending on what godforsaken town I'm camped out in, I don't always have much kitchen space or a proper pantry, so this keeps things tidy and probably a little cooler on my kitchen shelf or wherever with less concerns about pantry pests. I love and use OXO containers and Mason jars, but both are a pain to pack and cart around so I keep those items to a minimum. Not sure I'll get around to making kimchi, but I'll probably get a couple more of these steel boxes for dry food storage since they're so handy and can stack, and they're not as bulky as a food bucket.
3.0 out of 5 stars IT WORKS BUT....
QUALITY OF THE STAINLESS STEEL IS WAY TOO THIN AND INSIDE OF THE CONTAINER IS VERY LIGHT AND FEELS THIN LIKE "ALUMINUM" AND IT MAKES ME WONDER IF THIS PRODUCT IS STAINLESS STEEL ON THE OUT SIDE(PAINTED STAINLESS STEEL ON THE EXTERNAL MATERIAL) BUT ITS ALUMINUM INSIDE???I'VE USED STAINLESS PRODUCTS QUITE OFTEN BUT THIS WAS THE THINNEST MATERIAL AND IT'S WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!!!
2.0 out of 5 stars Smell still leaks through
Got this so that I could store my home-made kimchi in the fridge. Unfortunately the smells still leaks from the container and everytime you open the fridge you get a huge whiff of it.
3.0 out of 5 stars Not as Tight Seal as Hoped
Mainly disappointed in the seal. It's not as airtight as I was hoping, but I was expecting near perfection seal. If your standards aren't that high, it is very good value.
