5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for a youngster
UPDATE: I just realized that this kit comes with only two ICs. Not a problem for me because I have a stock pile of old ICs I've had for years. If you are new to breadboarding, you will want to get a mix of ICs, starting with a 555 timer. Bolo has a great selection of IC Kits, so pick one within your budget and have fun! This is a great little kit. I'm retired now, but I made my living for many years as an Electronics Tech, so I thought it would be fun to "play around" a little. This kit has plenty of bits and pieces to spend many hours just playing around, but I find the components are small for my clumsy hands and fading vision. I made a couple of projects and plan to make a few more, but eventually I'll have to pass it on to the younger generation. If you have a pre-teen or teen with an interest in this sort of thing, I happily recommend this kit.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good kit
I like that it has all the Tupperware, you need, board, and power supply. I purchased a 9 V AC adapter.
4.0 out of 5 stars Decent beginners' component assortment
I purchased the "REXQualis" component kit because I've been wanting to re-start an electronics hobby I had when much younger and needed a starting point to get my components/parts collection started again. I hadn't heard of the brand before and selected this item based only on the price and contents promised.Overall, this is a rather decent little beginner's kit. Most importantly, it offers a good-quality breadboard and power supply to begin with. The LEDs and buzzers provide a few little things to "play" with lighting up and making noise, while there's not so many solid-state & passive components to be overwhelming. Within a week or two I knew what additional items I wanted to purchase (or what I needed to build with) and was able to easily browse online (Bolo & others) to start adding to this collection. Many months later, now, and I have a huge stockpile of parts and tools. I love spending my spare time tinkering, building, and learning. This hobby is fun and very rewarding...kinda like working a puzzle, and for me it all started with the purchase of this little kit.The only little issues or complaints I have are minor. Mainly, there could be much better literature or online support offered. The web-site link provided leads to online pages that could have been organized and edited much better. I think the seller could have offered more along the lines of sample projects and info. behind the individual components. This is there...but only in limited ways.If you're a beginner, or wanting to start or add to a parts collection, then this kit is very good. It's been a great starting point for me. Just keep in mind, you may need to be a little resourceful online when looking for buildable project ideas.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very cool!
Everything came in good shape. Love that it came with a 74HC595 IC. Good buy. Highly recommend it!
5.0 out of 5 stars really good for beginners
This was a great, inexpensive kit to get started in this hobby. I quickly found myself wanting different parts, but as a way of keeping the price barrier to entry low, I think this kit is an awesome compromise.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent value. Kit makes organizing very easy.
I just started learning about simple circuits and decided to build some. I had gone through Bolo adding all the components and parts I needed. The total was over $40, so I was extremely pleased to find this $16 product with everything I needed and more. On top of that, it’s all packaged nicely. There’s a big box for everything, and small components inside are either bagged and labeled or in a small plastic box. The jumper wires are bound with a small zip tie and the male/female wires are stuck together at the sides and easily pull apart. I’ve built a few circuits so far and they’ve all worked perfectly. They only thing id suggest buying in addition to this is some battery holders or another power source and an autoranging multimeter. The power supply module included is nice as well, just look it up online to figure out what cord plugs into it. You’ll also have to look on the manufacturers website to find the voltage and amperage for the LEDs. I know the white LEDs are 3.2-3.4V and all LEDs are 20mA.
5.0 out of 5 stars Nice kit, needs an actual part list
As an electrical engineer I really like this as a starter kit for getting kids started with electronics since there are plenty of breadboard projects that can be done to start learning how the different parts work before adding an arduino or raspberry pi, but the documentation with this kit is useless. A link that doesn't work, and if you google well enough find the updated version, it still takes a search of the site and a download (sketchy to say the least) to get the parts list that should be included in the box by default.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great beginners kit
This is a great kit for beginners who want to get into wiring and solderless configurations
Excelente kit
Es un kit muy práctico y de calidad, llegó antes de lo esperado
Perfecto para aprender.
Las compré para aprender y me han servido mucho.
A great selection of basics
Really great starter kit, or extras. Provides lots of variety of components, all the major sizes of resistors and capacitors that you might need. All the components are decent quality and well organized. It would've been nice if there were better specs or model numbers included for some of the components, especially on the LEDs. From my testing, the LEDs measure out approximately as follows:Yellow = 10mA @ 2.1vRed = 20mA @ 2.3vBlue = 20mA @ 3.2vGreen = 20mA @ 3.5vWhite = 20mA @ 3.7vSince they are unmarked, I can't confirm the values are exactly correct, and your LEDs may be different than mine so YMMV. Be careful of the Yellow LEDs they are much more sensitive to higher voltages/currents than the other colors. I burned out several of mine.
Missing many pieces
I got it missing the following pieces:- 5 diode rectifiers- M/M usb cable- 20 ceramic capcitors- 1 Thermistor- 10 electrolytic capacitors- Active buzzer- Fiver transistors
Kit muy completo
Estudio electrónica y pedí este kit porque tiene un poco de todo.Todo llego en buen estado y sirve bastante bien lo recomiendo
