I had found a recipe online and it called for this particular spice. I was very happy with my purchase. I loved that it came with two so that I could give one to my daughter. I will definitely be ordering this again. It was delicious.

I really enjoy cooking, and I really enjoy making curries. My biggest issue with so many curry pastes in stores and here on Bolo is that they tend to have between 400mg - 800mg of sodium PER SERVING, and apart from the damage that does to the body, they leave my entire family with unquenchable thirst for the remainder of the day. That much sodium is just super bad for you. I love that this paste does not have needless amounts of sodium in it, and leaves its focus on the actual ingredients, which (to me), results in a much more pleasant taste.From a spice perspective, its about what I'd expect - less than Maesri and Maeploy (my two top contenders). From a taste perspective, I would say it's also not as strong as these two brands - but... I think a lot of that is because of the sodium, which - like Brawndo - is what our taste buds crave. After using this in a dinner, I wasn't overly thirsty, I didn't feel bloated, and I feel like I tasted "everything" more, not JUST the curry paste and spice, (which my family often complains about when I use the two brands up top).Again - this could be personal preference, but I searched long and hard to find a GOOD, AUTHENTIC curry paste that didn't murder my veins with sodium, and this is the best one I have found.

UPDATE: Eastern Blue's customer care is amazing. When I contacted the company about receiving that smashed jar I received TWO as a replacement within a week. Not only that but, as far as "open communications" go, I'd contacted two or three sellers of curry paste.Two of them responded with the absolute minimum information. Eastern Blue, however, responded in paragraphs immediately, with all of the information being relevant to my question. Since then I've contacted them again and received the same cheerful, helpful assistance regarding recipes and proper proportions of paste to adjust for the "Americanization" of curries.ORIGINAL POST: I've used this product before. I don't find a problem with the flavor profile, as some "low star" reviews indicate. However, one of the four jars arrived smashed (see photo), leaving broken glass in the curry paste rendering it unusable. And this happened even though the jars were wrapped in pairs in bubble wrap, inside of a small, snug corrugated box inside of an Bolo "puff pack". I'm going to ask for a replacement.

The curry paste leaked all over the packaging and wasn't safe to use. I couldn't return it or get a refund.

I usually buy Mae Ploy Yellow Curry Paste, but it is too spicy for my liking. I saw this one and decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did! I love the flavor, and I love the fact that it doesn't burn your tongue from chili pepper heat. Very nice yellow color, fragrant, lower heat level, and turned out perfect first time I made it. The only drawback is while I usually use 1 teaspoon of Mae Ploy (due to heat intensity) for my curry, I had to use a third of the jar of Eastern Blue, so it is more expensive in the long run. But it is worth it to me, because all my friends love this lower heat level much better. This is a mild yellow curry for those of you that can't take the heat of most curry pastes.

Really great flavor!
I LOVE yellow curry and could never make it taste authentic at home…until now! This is the closest I’ve come to making restaurant level yellow curry at home. It even comes with a bar code for a free downloadable PDF recipe book (which I used to make my yellow curry!). The paste came quickly and it’s delicious. I would recommend it, and the company and I will definitely buy it again.
Green curry
We had green curried pork and it was amazing. Used 2 teaspoons of the curry and it flavoured it perfectly. Can’t wait to try the other jars!!

I was given a gift of a small jar of this curry and it is the best I have ever tasted. I need to order more so I ordered the larger jar. I highly recommend this curry paste for anyone who wishes to have the true Thai taste.
