Unfortunately, this gate does not fit well in the door frame. It is held up by two plastic type cups that are stuck to the interior part of the door frame. Total waste of money

I have a new puppy. No kids. And as it would turn out, I needed a gate. It seems that pet gates are a billion dollars, but this gate is still reasonably priced, and as sturdy as ever. Oscar (puppy) is a turd thieving poop eater. Now, he can no longer acquire his beloved kitty cat crunches, and my home is much happier. Yay.

I was looking for a gate that was easy to take off and on from a doorframe. Unfortunately, this isn't it. It looks like the old baby gates I had growing up, but it does not easily lock and unlock. There's a plastic piece you have to move over to lift up the arm, and then move it back to lock, but it doesn't move easily. Even when you manage to move it and lift the arm, it doesn't make the gate slide smoothly either.I only use it when my grandkids come over, and I dread getting it out each time because of how much of a pain it is. However, once I get it all set up and in place, it stays steady and works well. If ease of use is important to you, I'd suggest looking for another option.

Besides being difficult to work with, the wood is so light weight and flimsy it bends under the pressure of placing it in the door way. On top of that the mechanism designed to keep the gate pressure in place is terrible to work with as the design is pretty poor.I wish I never got rid of my old pressure style baby gates. Quality on these products are just not the same as they used to be. I'd look else where. It looks nice but it's not very well made.

We have three crazy kittens and a German Shepherd all of whom sit and "hunt" in our front window. The window is large and several times the "kids" have knocked everything down. This gate is perfect to insure that none of them goes through the window! The style works for us as we live in a 200+ year old house. Great product!

I admit this isn't as straight-forward as those modern clamp-down style baby gates, or the ones with locking levers, but this was still easy to use.The reviews saying that it doesn't work or that it doesn't lock are quite literally doing it wrong.This gate is pressure-mounted, which means you need to expand it and push down. If you do it correctly, it will lock and stay put. I can tug on the gate and it doesn't budge.If you can't get it right, it's not the gate's fault. If you're one of the frustrated many and are reading this, my advice is to take a deep breath, stop trying to do whatever it is you're doing, and try something different after coming back to it because it does work. Maybe look up a video?Affordable, easy, and yes it works.

There are many reasons why this is a substandard product.-the instructions are printed on the shipping box and largely covered by the shipping label, which can’t be removed without taking the printed instructions with it.-the bottom bumper, which is supposed to fit snugly against the wall in plastic fittings you have to attach to your walls, are so low they butt up. against the baseboard, thus making it impossible to engage the upper bumper. I had to install the gate several inches off the floor in order to get above the baseboards.-the gate must be aligned so bumpers fit into plastic fittings which you have to attach to your walls, ugly and difficult to align correctly.-the plastic clip that secures the gate mechanism in place does not engage and disengage efficiently. No matter how hard I push or pull the lever, it barely slides on or off the bar that adjusts and secures the width of the gate.. so far the gate has stayed in place, but just barely secured by the ‘lock’.-it isn’t an ugly gate, but it is an ugly, inefficient design.Do yourself a favor and avoid this product. I should return the two gates I purchased, but I marked the adjustment bar at the correct size for my doorways, so it isn’t in unused condition.Extremely disappointing purchase. They were cheap, but not even worth that price.

To Keep My Daughter From Going Outside
It's the summer in Canada and it gets really hot. We open the doors and windows to get some breeze, but my daughter keep pushing through the mesh. So we decided to buy this and my husband installed it. It works fine and does the job. This is the front door looking out towards the street. So you understand why I have to keep her safe. Great product. It arrived on time and well-packaged. Thanks.
