The features of this coffee maker are what makes it top rated. Its simple to use, user friendly. I wasn't interested in a coup coffee maker. Less is more. Makes good coffee. Filling with water is easier than most other makers and so is the grinds dispenser. This is a no frills make. This means less to malfunction like my old expensive brand. The only function that I wish it had is an audio signal when brewing is complete.

I had a quite old Mr. Coffee coffee maker with a square reusable basket that gave me many years of good service. It brewed very good coffee. The square basket, due to being used only serveral thousand times, was wore out and tore at one of the seams. I went to find a new basket for it and they are nowhere to be found. Bummer as that is a really good design. Yes, it is odd, but it brews really well.Anyway I did some research and decided on this coffee maker. The first one I received had something rattling around inside and I didn't want to take a chance and power it up only to find it was a loose screw that shorts out inside and burns down my house. It was quickly replaced with no hassle other than having to take the old one to a drop off point.It works well, but, and has a couple features I like. I like the top lid fill. It is designed well and when filling it doesn't splatter water all over. Whoever designed it figured out the right curves for water to pour and drain into the maker. The brim on the pot is plastic. I like this as I have a tendency to be clumsy and smack the spout on something breaking it off; however, this is a double edge sword. The plastic brim doesn't allow all the liquid to be poured out easily. It wastes a good couple teaspoons of coffee each time. The only way I know how to get those last two teaspoons is to shake the bejesus out of the coffee pot, but that would result in maybe one drop making into the cup and the rest spattered all over the counter.It also wants cleaning all the time. My water is very soft and doesn't build up like most other areas, but the maker only seams to track pots brewed, and not the actual build up in the machine. I am OK with that, but the fix to reset it is to unplug the maker, let it sit about ten minutes and plug it back in. Sounds easy, but then I got to reprogram the clock and make sure to set the maker on "BOLD" as that is the only way to make coffee. It really needs a reset button.Last thing I don't like is the water level is on the left side. The place I have my coffee maker is in an area where the left side is obfuscated. I am not going to change that as it would require a complete redesign of cooking area to include my microwave and other stuff I have near the coffee pot. Would really be nice to have levels on both sides.I have been using it several months and it brews good coffee. I wish somebody would come back with the square basket. That worked so well and brewed really good coffee. :(

Purchased this coffee maker mostly because of the superb design. I need something that loads everything from the front.A couple of bonuses: this coffee maker is easy & intuitive to program and set time. I did opt for the Bolo “like new“ product and we are very happy with that choice.If I only had one wish, it would be that the manufacturer would make it in a 10 to 12 cup size. I would highly recommend this coffee maker!

I thought it was just me - maybe I don’t know how to make coffee (even though I used to do it for a living), but thankfully, now reading all of the reviews, it’s not just me!I bought this coffee maker because of the front-fill design and the way my kitchen is set up. I thought it would be nice to not have to pull the coffee maker forwards/push it back all the time.My counter top where this sits is now stained with coffee after overflowing coffee grounds and coffee multiple times.If I only want to make 4 “cups” of coffee, I haven’t had a problem. Anything more than that is a roll of the dice if grounds will go all over the place. This past weekend, I actually had to pour the brewed coffee through another filter to catch a bunch of grounds. (Thankfully, I’ve since put a mat under the coffee maker itself, so none got on the counter this time…)If I put in the proper amount of coffee grounds and water for 12 cups, there will be coffee and grounds everywhere, but even if by some miracle there isn’t, it only fills up to about 10 cups in the carafe.For those wondering, I use properly ground beans (not too fine, not too coarse). I use 2 tablespoons per “cup” (a coffee “cup” isn’t a cup in the 8oz sense, hence the quotes). I use filtered water and I regularly clean the coffee maker.I haven’t been able to find anything that prevents it, short of only brewing 4-5 cups, which is not ideal if there are two of us.The coffee it brews is fine. I haven’t had any issues with the flavor, temperature, or anything else actually brew/taste wise.The coffee machine doesn’t beep (when done or when the hot plate shuts off), which some have complained about, but I don’t mind at all.The carafe does have the little plastic lip which does leave a small amount of coffee (or water, if rinsing/cleaning) in it. Isn’t the end of the world for me because I don’t need that thimble-full of coffee. It’s only very slightly annoying when washing - but I just dry it out with a paper towel and call it a day.I’ll keep using this machine until I either get sick of the coffee grounds spillage (at which time, this coffee maker will almost certainly be taken out back for the Office Space printer treatment) or until it breaks, mostly because I’m too lazy to buy another one unless it’s actively spewing grounds everywhere - and at the time, I’m too busy cleaning up a huge mess to order a new one in the moment.

This machine is a sold buy. Its features are nice, programmable, easy to fill and load coffee. The one downside, is the mineral deposits in the easy pore front loader part. Because the water doesn't stand in this area. When you clean with vinegar, the vinegar doesn't stay long enough to clean the deposits and the deposits always seem to come back.
