UPDATE 16-May-2018: We had my husband do this test so we could compare results. We call him the dog with hands because the man can eat everything in sight without issue. Sure enough, his test results show almost no reactivity to foods - just yogurt, which we knew about.I have major food issues - GERD, gluten intolerance, IC, IBS, migraines, and allergies. My test results show significant reactivity to a broad range of foods - and these are foods we knew I had issues with.I am convinced this test is pretty legit.PREVIOUS REVIEW: This test won’t confirm lactose intolerance nor celiac disease. All it does is show IgG reactive levels - antibodies. The medical community is divided over what this means for food tolerance. Humans develop antibodies as protection against foreign substances like viruses. If you have had chicken pox, you have antibodies against chicken pox. This doesn’t guarantee that you won’t get chicken pox, but it definitely reduces your chances significantly. But does having chicken pox antibodies make you willing to eat the chicken pox virus?Well, food is no different. There are foods our bodies believe are harmful foreign agents and so our bodies build up antibodies to protect us from them. Does the presence of the antibodies mean you are now safe to enjoy those foods? This is where the medical community is divided.NIH has published results of a study that shows elimating IgG-reactive foods reduces migraines. Here is what I can tell you - wheat and gluten are on my reactive IgG list. I eliminated both and I went from near-daily migraines to about 3 per month.IgG antibodies trigger an inflammatory response. That response will manifest in different human bodies in different ways. Migraines in some, brain fog or joint pain in others. Maybe lethargy, fatigue, insomnia, etc., it all depends on how the inflammatory response occurs. This test is only going to tell you your IgG reactivity to foods. It won’t tell you how that reactivity in you manifests. Maybe it doesn’t. Or maybe it’s the source of that mystery joint pain you are having. The human body is a complex ecosystem. No two bodies react exactly the same because we all have different gut bacteria, diets, genetics, medications, etc. Each of these things contributes to your unique chemistry. How these IgG-reactive foods impact your chemistry really can only be determined through an elimination diet and then reintroduction of one IgG-reactive food at a time so you can see how your body reacts to it.All this test will do is narrow down a possible list of foods based on IgG reactivity only.Celiac disease and lactose intolerance are two examples of food issues that this test will NOT reveal.Food intolerance has several possible causes - IgG just being one among many - and there are likely many more that we aren’t even aware of yet.So don’t put all of your eggs in one basket, so to speak. This test is just one piece of your body’s ecological mystery puzzle.
5.0 out of 5 stars Not bad
Took the test and got them back so fast, actually got my results on a Saturday! Like 2- 3 days fast. So easy. I was only mild sensitive to some foods. Thank god for that truly.. but now it's good to know what to not eat as much for better gut health. Hopefully me eliminating some foods I can care less about and eating less of good that i do like helps my gut health 🙏.
1.0 out of 5 stars Wasted my money.
Before purchasing this product which tested 96 common foods, I searched all over the description for which foods it would test. They keep that a secret. So after submitting my test and getting my results, I was quite disappointed with some of the things that they were testing for. There are a couple things I had already been diagnosed as having a sensitivity to, but they were not on Everlywell’s 96 items tested list. I was looking for some confirmation and wasn’t able to get it. One thing they do test for is if someone has a food sensitivity to bay leaves. Yes, you read that correctly, bay leaves! If I were to give you a list of 300 foods that you would want be tested for, would bay leaves be on your list? I find that to be kind of ridiculous. I feel that I wasted my money.
4.0 out of 5 stars Insightful and quick results
I got this product because I have stomach pain a lot after eating almost anything (it feels like). Some days it’s so bad I’m throwing up and hunched over on the floor not knowing what I ate to do this to myself. My husband has an HRA account at work and I was so happy it covered this or else I unfortunately probably wouldn’t have tried it.. when taking the test be sure to follow the directions closely so you can get enough blood out. I didn’t do everything it asked like soaking my hands in warm water and get your heart pumping and let me tell you it was a struggle trying to squeeze out a drop of blood. I had to poke almost every finger and yes it still hurts a bit 5 days later.. the results were a moderate response to coffee which makes so much sense, and a mild response to several things including eggs, chicken, garlic, bell peppers, broccoli, wheat, and a few others. Now I can slowly eliminate some foods and figure out my triggers! I’m going to stay away from coffee which I only drink a couple times a week because I have noticed before it has an affect on me, but I didn’t know how bad it was. It’s definitely worth the insight.

I used this test to get some insights into some of my eating habits. Great for this- think in terms of broad strokes. They only test for a certain predetermined set they have established so there are still things I wonder about- but overall pretty accurate for 'food sensitivities' but I don't think I would rely on this test for determine allergies that cause anaphylaxis.
3.0 out of 5 stars Didn't help me with what I needed, but it was easy and the results were fast
I'm lactose intolerant and also sensitive to a handful of certain foods that I know, without fail, will give me trouble. However, I still have some mystery issues that I can't point point (food-based) and was hoping this would help me. NONE of the hot-button foods for me showed up in the results** but I expected to find some others pop up that I wouldn't have thought about - even foods that are lesser ingredients, such as white sugar, certain oils, etc. Unfortunately, it wasn't as detailed as I'd hoped, and only two other food items popped up as questionable. I thought, for sure, that something went wrong with my blood sample. I called to inquire and learned that ** this kit only tests for foods that are currently in your bloodstream. ** I guess that makes sense, but if I didn't eat blueberries within 24 hours of collecting my blood, for example, then it wouldn't show up as a problem even if I was severely intolerant of them in general. I'm not sure how I feel about that, as I'm not a big eater and don't care to ingest those foods that are suspicious just for a blood test.
Not in Canada:(
I live in Canada and when I tried to set this up I found out that the company doesn’t support Canadian results. This should have been on the Bolo site.
