I followed instructions to this type of mold for my first effort at filled chocolates. Tempering the chocolate is necessary, and it was my first attempt at that too, but they came out perfectly. I can't imagine using a thin, flexible mold for this kind of work. Save the money, add numerous hours of toil. No thanks - this is the one.

My first time making them. I watched a YouTube video and the woman used this claiming they are a little trickier then silicone but come out smoother. They are easy to get out ones they are completely settled n done. If not coming out easy then put back in fridge. Also wear gloves to avoid finger prints and hot fingers melting chocolate 😀 I Def recommend this! Perfect size mug ball

I bought this for making chocolate bombs since I only had one in silicon and I didn’t like how they were turning out. At times it wasn’t easy to take the half spheres out but I guess that’s more on me not being an expert with chocolate than anything else. So, silicon ones are easier to use but once you get the hang of it there is really no comparison. With this mold the half spheres are perfectly shaped and shiny, just be sure to let the chocolate cool completely!

Picture shows "under-molded" polycarbonate which results in "pimples" on the chocolate that comes out. Several cavities have defects.The mold plate also has a big hole on the top surface through which chocolate flows down creating a mess on your table. This hole is not a manufacturing defect but it is a design issue.Contacted the company within Bolo's 30-day return window. They promised a replacement from China and sent a tracking number. After 2 month of waiting and 40 emails (this is true!), it was determined that the tracking # was probably fake. This mold makes beautiful- hot chocolate bombs. The chocolate comes out of the mold easy and shiny. Certainly recommend for milk or dark chocolate. After trying several times with different techniques we have to move to the silicone mold to make white chocolate bombs. We could not get the white chocolate to release from the mold. Bottom line milk chocolate or dark chocolate- this mold is the way to go. Easy and beautiful.

Substantial, not flimsy plastic. Each half-sphere has no lines or imperfections—some other products seemed to have issues w this. This product is what you want if you’re making chocolate boms for other-than-personal use, as you’ll be able to temper it. I have not used it yet but was so relieved and happy after I just opened the package, I will update if there are any problems. The size I got was the 2.5 inch and it just fits in a standard coffee mug and is roomy enough for anything you’d want to put inside.
