The Magnavox brand originates back to 1917 when the World’s first moving coil speaker was invented in a lab in Napa, California. Due to this invention for the first time in human history the world witnessed a human voice that could be heard by an entire town. The product was named: Magnavox ~ Latin for ‘Great Voice’ It became a prime piece of US history and the foundation of a trusted brand for almost a century linked to dozens of notable achievements such as the first game console (Magnavox Odyssey) as well as World’s first plasma computer panels. Throughout the years Magnavox’s visual appearance took several forms relevant to its time. Ranging from multiple revisions of its initial appearance (the historic great voice featuring a lion’s head), a shield covering the history of the brand and its influence on entertainment, into a contemporary wordmark in 1982 and the wordmark it is today. The popularity of the Magnavox brand is as strong as ever before and its remarkable history attracts many fans and non-profit organizations.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works exactly as it's supposed to.
I bought this CD player for my son who recently discovered the joy of collecting "Old" CDs. First of all, I don't know if you've noticed but CD players are hard to find these days! I was happy when I found this one on Bolo at a reasonable price. The sound is fine and I must say he uses it a lot ( as well as the built in radio.) Let's Hope his interest in CD's lasts as long as this player!
5.0 out of 5 stars handy portable with good sound.
I have bought three of these one or myself and the others as gifts and I have been completely satisfied. It has good sound and is handy to be able to move about the house wherever I am working. It was exactly what I was looking for at a very reasonable price.
4.0 out of 5 stars Consider the price
Operates fine, but sound is rather poor. I am still giving it 4 stars, as I feel the low price justifies it overall. However, I would suggest buying something else if you want distortion free sound. But you will probably have to pay considerably more than 30 bucks. One thing I REALLY like about this unit is the small size. I had several potential cubby holes in mind for this, was not sure it would fit with still being able to open the lid, but it will go into any of the spots I had in mind.
3.0 out of 5 stars It certainly plays CD's just fine, but man those speakers...
This is definitely a CD player (and theoretically a radio, but I'm not using it for that). It's compact and looks fine. It plays audio CDs (but as far as I can tell, does not play MP3 CDs or anything). It has the worst speakers this side of the Dollar Tree. Muffled and somehow at the same time tinny. I can only describe it as "If I had to listen to music through these, I would hate music."thankfully I'm just using it to play lullabies for my kid at night and he doesn't seem to mind.I haven't tried the radio. I imagine it would have the same sound issues and the station uses a dial on the side with the number pressed into the dial so it seems kind of... difficult to tune but again, I haven't tried it since I don't need it... but if you need a radio I would recommend spending an extra three fiddy and getting something that shows the station on some kind of display... or at least a station BAR and not this dial. It has a little LED display but it only shows CD track numbers or the word "NO" when there's nothing loaded.Additionally there is no line out jack, so you can't connect it to better speakers. There IS a line-in jack if you have another device you want to play through this to punish yourself.Honestly, this is a music machine and it can only be used to listen to music poorly. Save your allowance, wait a week or two and get something better.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good cheap radio with CD
It is a throwback to the 90's and 2000's. CD player works. Radio picks up enough local stations (without telescopic antenna). Sound quality is definitely on the not too good side, but for the very cheap price I am happy. For a small bedroom, it's great. If you are in a loud environment, you need a Bluetooth speaker or a larger stereo.
5.0 out of 5 stars gave this as a gift
gave this as a gift for 99 year old mother ! She loved it because it was easy to use and the sound was good
5.0 out of 5 stars Worked right out of the box!
I purchased this as a gift for my teenage daughter because she's in her early 2000's faze at the moment and she loved it. I made sure to read some of the reviews before I purchased it, some of them weren't favorable but I decided to still give them a chance and I don't regret it. For the price, its unbeatable and the item is working perfectly fine. The plastic is a little flimsy and the sound is a little tinny but again, for the price, you can't beat it. You get what you pay for and I'm happy with my purchase.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great little boombox!
I bought this little boombox for my 81 year old mother. It is simple enough for her to understand how to operate. It is very lightweight which is great for her to take by the handle and place on the seat of her walker to transport anywhere in the house. The sound quality is good for the price. She is very happy with it. The radio reception is not the best but she won’t be using that feature much since she’ll be using it for CD play. Overall, well worth the price paid!
