I'm not a professional mechanic who turns a wrench for a living and my air compressor is a 21 gallon, 2.5 HP, 125 psi Central Pneumatic from Harbor Freight that I've had for the past 3 years. I mainly use my air tools for routine maintenance on my cars and yard equipment and my son and his friends use them for their cars. With the exception of a Matco MT1712 1/2 impact gun, all of my other air tools, air fittings and air hoses are Central Pneumatic from Harbor Freight. With that being said, I was never really impressed with the performance of my air tools, however, since I bought them from HF, I wasn't really expecting much. Recently, I needed a new air hose and also decided to change out my hose fittings. I Googled which would be the best hoses and fittings and consistently saw Milton V-Style fittings in my searches. As you can see in the picture, the fitting on the top is a steel Central Pneumatic air fitting from Harbor Freight, in the middle is a Milton V-Style steel fitting from Milton S-217, and the bottom is a fitting from this reviewed package. After checking prices I decided on this package because it included the couplers and fittings. I had read the reviews regarding durability since these were made from anodized aluminum and wasn't too concerned because I don't really abuse the hoses or fittings. After installing them with Teflon thread tape I had a chance to use an air chisel and air hammer for a project. I could tell right away that the performance was much better. The air chisel was bouncing around a lot and the coupler and fittings were getting a good workout. There was no noticeable damage or defect at all in the fit or finish. Upon using my impact gun I was able to see a definite improvement in performance when trying to remove rusted bolts. These couplers and fittings definitely improved performance. I grease the internals of my impact gun regularly and also use an in-line lubricator but was never really satisfied with it until now. I had actually considered upgrading my impact gun to get better performance. The only "down" side to these fittings is that you'll use a lot more air and your compressor will kick on more often. As I've said before, I also bought the steel version of these fittings (Milton S-217) and they work just as well. If you're worried about the durability of the anodized aluminum then that would be your best alternative although they are not purple. The couplers are backwards compatible with other fittings but you won't get the increased airflow that you get when you have all V-Style fittings and couplers. The V-style fittings WILL NOT mate up to non V-Style couplers. I also use Marvel Mystery Oil to oil all of my air tools and Royal Purple Synthetic compressor oil in my air compressor.

I'm a power sports tech and spend many, many hours working in my shop. I paired these 1/4 air fittings with Flexzilla air line - what a great setup. To be honest, I wanted air fittings that had a "cooler" look than typical brass. After reading previous reviews, I was worried about them being "softer" aluminum and figured that they might not hold up from the use in my shop. I have had nothing but a positive experience with these fittings. There are two questions to ask: 1. Do they leak? 2. Do they hold up to abuse? I have used several of these fittings... torqued and installed with Teflon tape... and have not had a single fitting leak running off of a 60 gallon air compressor. Maybe others have received fittings that leak... OR maybe they didn't install them correctly.. who knows. As for abuse, I would say I have an air line in my hand very often throughout the day, pneumatic tools, air blower, pneumatic power sports lifts... etc. The fittings have held up completely fine for me. However, I have not intentionally smashed a fitting, run it over, whacked it with a hammer, etc. So, I'm not sure with other people are doing with these fittings to take pictures such pictures and have such complaints. On the other hand, they're not indestructible... they do get scratched and form imperfections depending on how much "abuse" they're subjected to. All in all, I'm very happy with these... purple fittings on a bright green air line :D

What a difference! All of my air tools have incredibly more power than with the standard M connectors. Definitely a good choice!

What an excellent upgrade for my air tools. More air, more power, better connections. I ordered these and have outfitted every tool and compressor in my man cave shop with these. If you're running 1/4npt with 3/8 hose your tools will thank you! Word of caution...they are aluminum so don't over tighten them.....they will crack. I'm buying 2 more cases. These also will not regular industrial quick connects properly, I either experience a non fit issue and an air leak issue. So I swapped out my industrial quick connects on my compressor with the two V style ones in the pack. Works like a charm!

Pretty colors but doesn't seem durable. Not sure how the steel couplers will resist rust either. I do like the high CFM, which is very important, and have been replacing everything in my system with their brass V-style products for all of my tools. These aluminum plugs are OK on low use indoor tools but not real working tools. They do make a huge difference in performance over other, more typical, couplers. They really do help keep the working end of the hose from running out of air. I'm replacing everything I have with their brass version. I am sure Goodwill or Salvation Army would love all my old fittings.

I don't know what some reviewers have been doing to destroy theirs, or if they bought fakes from third party vendors. I've had these for a few years along with the green B fittings which have been in my shop over ten years. I have at least 40 connectors throughout the shop and haven't had a problem yet. I like the improved volume of the V enough that I ordered more to change out B fittings. It really makes more of a difference on air hammer, Impact, cut off tools and blast cabinet, but it's easier for me to have one style that everything plugs into. I don't abuse tools or run hoses over with tractors and cars. I have 20+ year old air tools that work as well as new ones, because I oil them and don't abuse them. My Snap-On PH3050 (5years) and PH050 (25years) get used about the same, just with different bits so I don't have to keep swapping. Anyway, these fittings, along with those I bought a few years ago, came in the standard annoying plastic clamshell with normal Milton markings and have all threaded on fine with no leaks. I do use teflon tape. For a busy commercial shop I might want heavier duty, but I do restorations and these serve my needs very well.
Really like these connectors
Love the color scheme so you don't have to guess what male connector goes with what female connector. And being able to snap the connector in without pushing back the female connector sleeve is a great time saver. Also the male connectors are aluminum and light weight so might require more care not to damage but they seem really solid and most importantly don't leak. The female connectors are made mostly from steel with only the top material might be purple anodized aluminum. I will probably convert all my lines to these high flow connectors.

They are aluminum. If your expectations are industrial grade than you get what you pay for. They have brass and steel versions as well.Steel sleeve in the female connector makes its last.No leaks.I personally use rubber hose lead into my air tools Instead of brass fittings for impact tools. Cheaper, works and O use lead in hose anyways.
