5.0 out of 5 stars Seamless Espresso Experience with Consistent Results – Highly Recommended!

I recently upgraded to the Breville Barista Touch BES880BSS Espresso Machine as a replacement for my trusty Gaggia Classic Pro and Baratza Sette 30 grinder setup, which had served me well for the past four years. Switching to the Barista Touch has been a game-changer for my home coffee routine.Ease of Use:One of the standout features of the Barista Touch is the seamless integration of grinding, dosing, brewing, and milk frothing all within a single semi-automatic machine. The intuitive touchscreen interface makes managing each step effortless, eliminating the need for multiple separate tools.Improved Workflow:With the Gaggia Classic Pro, I often struggled with controlling shot length and had to manually stop the machine, which was less than ideal. The Barista Touch allows me to effortlessly pull long shots and automatically stops after the desired time, providing a more streamlined and hassle-free experience.Grinding and Portafilter Handling:Unlike my previous setup with the Baratza Sette 30 grinder, where I frequently needed a dosing funnel to get the grinds perfectly into the portafilter, the Barista Touch handles this process flawlessly. I no longer have to hold the portafilter while grinding, resulting in a cleaner and more efficient workflow.Consistency and Quality:While the espresso taste remains on par with my old setup, the Barista Touch offers a higher level of consistency. Long shots now result in fewer wet pucks, and I consistently end up with dry pucks in the knock box after every shot. This consistency is crucial for maintaining the quality of each espresso.Value for Money:If you’re in the market for a sub-$1,000 espresso machine and grinder combo, the Breville Barista Touch is an excellent choice. It combines functionality, ease of use, and reliable performance in one sleek package, making it a worthy investment for any home barista. Conclusion:Overall, the Breville Barista Touch BES880BSS has significantly enhanced my espresso-making experience. The seamless operation, improved consistency, and thoughtful design make it a standout choice for anyone looking to upgrade their home coffee setup. Highly recommended!

We purchased this Breville Barista Touch four years ago, and it has been an absolute dream. As avid coffee enthusiasts, we were looking for a machine that would allow us to truly customize our espresso experience, and this machine delivers. What we love:Integrated Grinder: The ability to control the grind size and dose directly on the machine is incredibly convenient.Versatility: From espresso and lattes to cappuccinos and flat whites, the Barista Touch excels at creating a wide range of coffee beverages.Milk Frothing: The automatic milk frother produces consistently excellent microfoam.Reliability: We haven't experienced any issues with the machine in the four years we've owned it.InvestmentYes, it's a significant investment, but for serious coffee lovers, the Barista Touch is worth every penny. The convenience, quality, and versatility make it an absolute joy to use every day.

5.0 out of 5 stars Changed my perception of how much the machine affects the coffee

    B.D. · December 25, 2024

I've generally been somewhat dismissive about the value of a higher end espresso maker as I've had plenty of coffee from very expensive machines and it was usually fine, but not materially different than a budget machine. That changes with this machine. And yes, I recognize that this is still considered somewhat of a budget machine in the big picture of expensive coffee makers, but it's not a cheap espresso machine. And, it's worth it.The machine makes it easy to make a great cup of coffee. The on-screen controls are pretty simple to understand and the espresso comes out pretty close to what I would consider perfect, with great flavor, great temperature, and a lovely crema. The milk frothing is super simple - the machine gets the right foam and temperature for you, and clean-up is as easy as wiping down the wand. I really appreciate that most of the functions are just very easy to get a great cup of coffee. One nice aspect, there is a tool tray hidden behind the drip tray, which is good for keeping the extra filter baskets and maybe a few other things.I bought the machine to replace another espresso maker and assumed I would still keep my drip coffee maker, since I am generally not happy with an Americano compared to drip coffee, even when made by baristas in Europe. I am happy to say the Americano is delicious, and drip coffee may be a thing of the past for me.This machine completely changed my level of appreciation for coffee at home, I wish I had purchased it sooner.

¡EXCELENTE! Pero hay que aclarar un detalle…

    H.P. · May 30, 2022

The media could not be loaded.

Great machine, learn how to use it first

I owned a very old DeLonghi and I switched to Breville. I love the machine. First, it heats up fast which helps when guests are waiting. Two, the touchscreen is a good guide when you are preparing your coffee. Three, it gives me a sense of achievement when I am an active participant in the brewing. Although I watched a lot of videos, make sure you get an expert demo in person, to understand the right grind size you want etc. So you can build confidence as a first time Barista. Enjoy your machine!

    Great espresso maker

    C. · March 31, 2021

I had the automatic Miele which tasted like plastic so, l returned it and bought the automatic Delongi it didn’t get hot enough so, I took it back and ordered the Barista Touch. It’s every bit as good as they claim it to be. It’s a little more work than the automatic ones but I can get a steaming hot drink. I’m still trying to get the brew just right to suit my taste. Still trying different coffees. I find it hard to do the 30 lbs of tamping pressure to make the coffee that’s why I put the four stars. Not a fault of the machine. Just me. All in all I would recommend this coffee maker .

    Great Machine For Automatic Features

    A.C. · June 24, 2024

The media could not be loaded. $1,500 CAD espresso machine. Price is okay for someone with financial restrictions but can afford to go a little bougie; its worth the money. It is a hands-off machine, you get to enjoy many different coffee drinks and the machine will time and produce coffee ground and will also time how long your milk gets frothed and at the right temperature. the milk frother is top notch in this machine unlikes it breville barista (non-automatic). This machine has 3 openings in its frother and so you get a lot of steam distributed more evenly from more power. you also dont have to hold the frother container, you leave it and it does the work for you.I also own the breville barista machine (more manual) and I really enjoy the hands-on element that I get to partake in every morning. its become a sacred morning routine and I love it! I brought the breville barista touch for the office as it allows for more options of coffee drinks while keeping a bit of the manual element in it (moving the portafilter from the grinder section to the espresso making). This machine produces great coffee on a budget and its target user is also for those who want to get in on the espresso machine trend without doing all of the manual work.
