5.0 out of 5 stars Best nonstick, college-kid tested, I bought 2 sets
I don't like nonstick pans because they don't last very long before the surface is all "stick," and I never trust the chemicals they might put into your food. But some things are hard to cook on my trusty stainless steel pans without gobs of oil. So I've been looking for semi-trusty nonstick fry pans for years. Most have failed me until I was gifted one of these pans, which cleans up like a dream and almost never requires oil. When I wanted another size of the same pan, I bought 3 different knockoff brands of "copper"-- each lasted for a couple of months before warping and beginning to stick. So I bought this set for my 20yo son's college apartment. He's an inexperienced cook, so I wanted him to have nonstick, and he requested "lids that fit," unlike my menagerie of pans. After 6 months, he says the set still works great. And I was due for an upgrade on several of mine, so I bought another set during a sale. These are even better than the first Gotham pan from years ago. They have heavy bottoms so they sit flat and cook evenly on my glass-top electric stove. The variety of sizes of pots and pans are perfect for my needs, and there's even a deep saucepan. The glass lids fit tightly and are interchangeable from pot to pan, so you don't have to juggle too many lids. And there's no chemical taste or smell like many nonstick pans emit.I haven't had them long, so I can't vouch for the "scratch resistant" aspect. But I did note that the item description says you can use metal utensils, but the paperwork that comes with the set says not to use sharp objects, so I'm afraid to use a metal spoon or spatula.Overall, for the price and versatility alone, these pans are worth owning. But the quality so far surpasses my expectations. If they start giving out in the next few months, I'll update.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent cookware
Very durable, truly non stick and distributes heat evenly. Would be a nice addition to any kitchen.
5.0 out of 5 stars light weight
These are great! Our other pans were good, just way too heavy. These are so easy to use and clean and they don't break my arms while cooking or washing. would definitely buy again
4.0 out of 5 stars Careful
Pan bottoms slippery on burner 😮 lid handles get hot
5.0 out of 5 stars Non-stick seems pretty solid so far
Little dings already developing on the edges, even with cloth used for protection in storage. Otherwise great so far
5.0 out of 5 stars Nice set of cookware
Out of the box, everything looked great. No scratches or chips. My first dish in the large skillet was bacon and eggs. There was a little egg residue when I finished cooking, first photo. It wipe clean with a damp sponge, 2nd photo. I also made Cream of Wheat (with milk) in the small pot with a similar result. Heats evenly on my gas cooktop and very easy to clean. If anything changes, I will be sure to update this review.
1.0 out of 5 stars A perfect set: If you're looking for something that will last a year or less...
Initially these were good pots and pans. They look to be high quality and are non-stick, you don't even have to add oil. They look like they were going to be lasting for a very long time. But that's not the case. After about 8 months of using the small 8-in skillet / pan, about 5 days a week to cook an egg everything started sticking. I did nothing out of the ordinary besides cooking egg on the pan. I did not use any caustic chemicals to clean it (in matter of fact I use biodegradable dish soap) or have The heat on very high (I mostly cooking sunny sideups on low heat). When you're looking for a good quality set of pots and pans and you're willing to spend some money I would go with a brand that , at the very least, lives up to or past their warranty (which in this case is 10 years).I did contact them. And yes, They say they have a 10-year warranty. But let me explain what this means. It's simple terms, if something is to happen to one of the pots or pans within the first 10 years of owning it, first you have to find a box to ship it back in and pay for the shipping to their facilities (That will cost you somewhere between 15 and $20) and second send them a $10 check to pay for the shipping back to you. This type of 10-year warranty to me seems to be a scam. It's not like I've had the set for 5 years or even 3 years, I've only had it for 8 months. I have seen other companies That require you to send a check and if the product is deemed to be a manufacturers defect they chop the check up. but That's not the case with Gotham steel. The take away: Gotham steel's pans are not meant to last 10 years; they relying on The fact that nobody's going to spend between 25 and $35 to send and receive 1 new pot or pan. It's that simple.
5.0 out of 5 stars The best cookware I have ever had
I have a break and breakfast so you can imagine the use this cookware gets. Breakfast is included for all my guests with an optional lunch and dinner plan. These have proven to be the best cookware I have ever had. They are indeed dishwasher safe as they go thru the dishwasher at least 3 times day. The breakfast eggs are cooked to order for my guests and they simply slide out of the pan when cooked with a bit of butter. I did read the recommendations of using only medium heat.....which has proven to be true as they heat up fast and cook as though the heat is on high. The heat retention is great as well. (I have a gas stove). I purchased these to replace an older set of Cuisinart that simply lived out its life and were not dishwasher safe. I will be buying another set of the Gotham Steel. Cook per the manufacturers suggestions and you will love this cookware. I know I do.
Son muy bonitas ! Peto si hay que cuidarlas mucho!
Pedí 2 juegos, supuestamente iguales, pero uno trae la base por abajo mucho mejor que la otra, no entiendo porque!!!!
Great materials
I was searching so long for a good and healthy cookwarw set. And I found it here. This Gotham coolware set made my life easier. I recommend everyone to buy it. The different sizes are great and the lids goes for both the casseroles and the pans 😁😁
Yup!
This might just be the .... and I mean THE non toxic non stick set. Holding up well these first few weeks. Used daily for Indian cooking with all the spice n drama and then dumped in the dishwasher. Still here. Still look good. Base lightly scruffed but hopefully noone is turning my pots upside down to examine my Biryani on the floor....
Perfect
Awesome collection and they work SOOOOO well! No sticking while cooking and fabulously easy cleanup! Better even than my old GreenLife ceramic set, which was great
