About this item:
A modern take on a classic American snack, EPIC Provisions Pork Rinds are made from a blend of antibiotic-free, non-GMO, organic, and pastured pork complemented with both pink Himalayan salt and sea salt. They’re gluten-free, low-carb, Paleo-friendly, and filled with an abundance of protein. Allowing more whole animal utilization, pork skins are an extension of EPIC’s Whole Animal Project, a “snout-to-tail” commitment to honor each animal sourced. What is a rind? A rind is a fried pork skin taken from either the belly or back of a hog. This skin is softer in texture and has more subcutaneous fat when compared to the shoulder. Additionally, pork rinds have very little meat cooked into the product. The end result is the perfect lightweight snack that melts in your mouth.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love these!
Trying to cut back on carbs and eat healthier. These satisfy that need for something crunchy to snack on and they have no sugar, are baked and not deep fried.

They are delicious..it's hard not to eat the whole bag at one time.
4.0 out of 5 stars The BEST pork rinds on the market for Keto or just general snacking
I have been doing strict, "clean" keto (which for me means dairy free, gluten free, organic, mostly plant based whole foods only with some animal protein) for a little over 3 months now and there are certain products that really make it so much easier to stick to it. During my early days, I found a lot of recipes for tortillas and wraps that call for pork rinds as a binding agent instead of flours or cheeses and quickly realized that most (pretty much all) pork rinds sold in stores are at very least fried (which is HORRIBLE for your health - I could go on and on about this but just take my word for it) and at worst are full of additives and ingredients that make them anything besides the "healthy" low carb keto snack that they're touted to be. I found these at a local Whole Foods and was thrilled to see that they are BAKED not fried with very minimal ingredients which in this flavor is just pork skins and Himalayan pink salt. HOORAY! I now have these in my Bolo subscribe and save for monthly delivery so I can use them to put in my food processor and make my homemade tortillas and wraps with them. The flavor is great! I will occasionally snack on a few, but mostly I use them ground up in other recipes. My only complaint is that usually about 1/3 of them are rock hard and dark (see pic of light and fluffy on the left and rock hard on the right). I don't know if this is a common issue with pork rinds in general or these specifically, but those ones are nearly impossible to eat or grind up in the food processor. For how expensive these are and how small the bag is, it seems like an awful lot of waste for the money, however it's a price I'm willing to pay because I have yet to find another baked pork rind ANYWHERE, let alone ones without added ingredients. The only other thing that could make these better is if the pork skin were sourced from organic, naturally raised pigs, without any hormones etc., but I realize that's asking a lot haha. In general I'm very pleased to have found these so I can cook with them. They also make a great substitute for panko bread crumbs. I can definitely recommend if you're on keto or are just trying to eat/snack more cleanly or more low carb! I hope this review has been helpful!
5.0 out of 5 stars Great snack
I buy these for my dad. He’s on a super strict diet but for some reason can eat these. He loves them!
5.0 out of 5 stars The best!
This is by far the best pork rinds I've tried! my goto keto/carnivore snack.
3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad given what’s out there, but
But please less salt. And did I hear Himalayan salt has contaminants? I hope they looked into it. If it had less salt and they could remove a little bit more of the pufa oils, we could buy it much more often.Edit: they also need to practice better quality control by omitting The uglier pieces and the hard, overcooked, oilier Pieces. Some of them have black spots on them. don't know what that is, is it dirty? other reviewers called it mold? and please omit pieces with bristly hair on them! I screamed when I felt that in the bag. if we have to eat meat, it is healthier to eat nose to tail, but the company should try to make it more palatable.
5.0 out of 5 stars These are baked pork rinds!
These are baked pork rinds and also Antibiotic free. Delicious, with no sugar. Even my dad loves them! I will keep buying these because we are finally losing weight! No junk food!
1.0 out of 5 stars The only food these creatures wouldn't eat
I got these by accident (sea salt flavored). As a big fan of pork rinds, I was actually excited by the error. Excited until I actually tried one. They manage to be both dry and greasy. They have a stale/bland taste that is undeniably meaty, but not in a good way (in a morning-breath way).I work in the outdoors and thought maybe when really tired/hungry they would hit the spot. Even after several long days of lots of exertion in cold rain and sleeping in a only slightly warmer/drier tent, I still preferred cold plain instant oatmeal to these pork rinds. So dog treats? I gave one to my dog (a rescue Great Dane with an anxiety disorder). He tried to eat it and promptly tried to spit it out. It ended up stuck on his tongue and resulted in him frantically hopping around trying to get away from it. You read that right - not only would the dog not eat them, he fought to get it out of his mouth. So I tried feeding them to my friend's dog (a rescued street dog from Mexico City who currently suffers from senile dementia that often expresses itself as extreme food motivation). She too tried to spit it out. When offered a second pork rind, she backed away. I have NEVER seen this dog turn down anything resembling food, and she ran from these pork rinds. As a last resort, I gave them to my colleagues at ski patrol. These young adults who do hard physical labor in the cold for little money. These kids often stop by the local gas stations at closing-time to get the soon-to-be discarded meat that has been on heat rollers all day. They tried. They really tried. They even tried dipping them in various toppings (quesso dip, Heluva Good onion dip, hot salsa). These pork rinds are the only food they have turned down/thrown out. As one kid put it "I did not know anything made of pork could be so... yuck."
