Go to the Virginia Tech helmet rating web site, and it will tell you all you need to know about this helmet. It's one of the safest you can buy, and we know that thanks to VT's new ratings of equestrian helmets. Check out the web site before you buy anything. I've been riding for 20 years, and I'm shocked at the number of go-to brand name helmets that are rated so low that they're beyond serious consideration now. Given its excellent rating, this helmet is a bargain. I bought it for my adult daughter when I saw the ratings and told her she couldn't ride another day in her old helmet. She chose this one and loves its comfort and ventilation. The maxim is that the best helmet is the one that you will wear. With this Tuffrider as a choice, there is no excuse to go without.I received no compensation for this review.

I still use it after 5 years and plenty of falls. Very safe, durable and pretty. It's hard to wash the inside, but still I gave it a 5 star rating.

Coming from a western background I haven't rode in a helmet since I was a lesson kid and usually hate them. Now that my own children are taking an interest in riding I knew it was time to invest in a helmet for all of us to use. I purchased this helmet after researching the safety study and am so glad I did. It adjusts to fit each of us individually, is super comfortable and comes with a bag to store it in. I rode in it for the first time yesterday and honestly forgot I even had it on. I love it so much I'm getting a large for my older son to use.
