5.0 out of 5 stars Super clean look, very reliable, energy saving
After my dad bought some of these for his house I just had to have them. The style and soft lens makes these night lights some of the best I have seen for trying to make them not seen. They blend into the outlet very well and cast a bright yet comforting light onto whichever surface you are using it. The rotation makes it very good at directing up to light up a room or down to show a path. ABSOLUTELY will be purchasing more. HIGHLY recommend.
5.0 out of 5 stars A Unique Idea
You can easily find cheaper ones so why did I pay more for these – two things, one is the GE brand on them and the other is that tiny label on the back that says they are UL approved. A faulty nightlight is a very common cause of house fires. You can tell immediately that these are made well of quality materials, the light ring rotates smoothly all the way around, the lens is not just a frosted piece of plastic it actually focuses the light in a concentrated beam. As far as them being from GE don’t get too excited, these days those big respected brand names are mostly gone, in this particular instance the name is only used by a licensing agreement, the actual company that makes these is Jasco.PROS AND CONSIf it sounds like I am happy with these you are right but that doesn’t mean they are for everyone. Unless you live in a dorm or small one room apartment you probably have need for more than one kind of night light. As a generality there are three very different needs in my home. One is the bathroom where I want it to light up only the area that I use during the night, not the whole room. I don’t want it pointing in my eyes, but I want enough light to do what I’m in there for. These are perfect for that. They are just bright enough, maybe a two on a scale of five. The light is a soft white and focused only where you point the rotating ring. If you do it right you can’t even see the lens at all. It comes on at night and goes off at dawn. Now the other two areas I use night lights are quite different. One is the hallway to the bedrooms. There I want a device that very softly lights up the entire area with no area brighter than another, and my preference is a cool blue hue that is easy on the eyes. For that purpose I choose a light that has a large frosted screen that emits light in all directions equally. The third area is within the bedroom itself where my preference is a light that only comes on when it senses movement, otherwise stays dark. If I do want a light that is on all the time I want it to be completely indirect and very dim so it can’t shine in our eyes. So it’s not really a matter of pros and cons but what works best for you.HINTI have bought this product before, this time I had another idea in mind. Our TV is in a darkened corner with some interesting handmade artwork hanging on the walls behind it. I wanted a way to illuminate that artwork but only very softly so it didn’t affect our TV viewing. So what I did is to attach a power extension strip behind the TV and plug in two of these so I can rotate them and point them toward the artifacts on the wall. I can adjust them to any angle I want and the effect looks like it was done by an interior decorator.YES OR NOWhat’s the most you will save by buying the no name brand, maybe two or three bucks – choose these for quality and the UL label. That was my choice. I hope this helped you make yours.
5.0 out of 5 stars works great
no more stubbed toes, not to bright, love them
4.0 out of 5 stars Low energy, bright light
Bought these to put around the house so they come on at night. They are not motion activated but the energy usage is pennies a day. Will look for motion activated ones but have to have LED for them to pay for themselves. I guess one fall prevention is also worth the money…
5.0 out of 5 stars Brightness, quality for quantity, & lastingness
I'm giving this report after using this nightlight for about a month now.Pros:+ not a super bright light (may b different 4 u according to what is "bright" light 2 u as a night light)+ the color of light illuminated is more of a yellow light, but a lighter shade of yellow (I list this as a Pro b/c warm light helps is easier on my eyes & helps me sleep better vs. Night lights that illuminate a blue or white light, again everyone has different preferences)+ Auto off when it senses natural light or a brighter light source (so whenever I turn on my bedroom light, the night light turns off automatically; when I open the curtains & blinds in my room & the natural light is sensed by the sensor on top of the night light, it automatically turns off as well.)+ DOES NOT overheat (the cover of the bulb or even the whole unit (nightlight) even after long use. (I have kept this night light plugged 24/7, observing that it automatically turns off when I turn on my ceiling lights or let in natural light, & I touch it seeing if it overheats)Cons:- this is not really a con, but if u place this under another object, (ex. In an outlet under you personal desk), the sensor may not detect natural light or another brighter light source (ex. Bedroom light, ceiling light) & Not automatically turn off. So, if there are other objects above the sensor of the night light, it may not automatically turn off & continue to stay on. What I do is just unplug it.Overall, I'm satisfied w/ my purchase of this night light for the price I bought it at.Hope this helps. :)
5.0 out of 5 stars Nice brightness level
Good brightness level (bright enough to not trip at night, but not too bright) for a fairly large bathroom. On/off sensor continues to work well after a couple months of being constantly plugged in.
5.0 out of 5 stars Have used these for 15 years
I originally bought several of these at Target about 15 years ago. What I loved about them was that they weren't an eyesore and were compact. The light is adjustable by turning it to where you want the light to shine. In my master bathroom, it gives enough light for me to see everything if I get up without being glaring. If used in hallways, they spotlight on the floors. If used in the kitchen, they highlight the countertops. I like clearing a path if I was to get up in the middle of the night without the need for lamps to be on all night. Only recently have I noticed one light not shining as brightly so I went on the search for these to replace. Even at my age, I still like my nightlight!
5.0 out of 5 stars Love these night lights!
I purchased these for a lighting problem I have in a long, dark hallway. All you do is plug them in, and they work wonderfully. Will definitely repurchase for me and my friends. Also, these are great to take on a trip….
Work great... can aim at floor
Wife liked it
Lovely product.
Very cute and minimalistic look. Works as described: turns off in daylight, unless approached. Gives a warm light, that doesn’t over brighten the space. Works very well. Love it. Thanks.
Útiles, pero...
The media could not be loaded.
